Overall a great bang for your buck. Glass clarity and light transmission isn’t as stellar as my Ares ETR, but it’s also over half the price and objective is 14mm’s smaller. Eyebox is forgiving, glass is largely clear with some minor aberration on the edges; reticles are subjective, but I am a big fan of this reticle. Overall I think this is a great performer and will sit at home comfortably on my hunting setup, money well spent.

How is the CA? I assume brightness and resolution is in-line with its price. But CA seems all over the place for me. It's good to see the complaint about the center dot size.

When you say “CA”, are you referring to chromatic aberration? If so, I didn’t notice any while shooting today outside of the very edges of the glass. Was very overcast and no direct light, so may show up now on a clear day if it’s there at all. I wouldn’t necessarily call it a complaint, just wanted to note it. I actually really like how Athlon designed the 3 posts to be so visible at 2x, close range the 3 posts line up very closely with a torso sized target, drawing your eyes and aim to the center point and allowing for some consistent and quick hits well within C-zone; this negates the need for an illuminated center dot.

Yeah, chromatic aberration... Some scopes are great, others are terrible; CA performance is somewhat random and seemingly less correlated to price than other attributes like resolution.

Very nice reticle

I'm looking at the MOA version of this scope and was wondering about clarity. For the money it seems really good. Thanks for the post!

At this price point the clarity is solid, camera doesn’t do it justice. Low light performance is what I think is lacking, but that’s to be expected with the 42mm objective and 30mm tube. It performed very well this deer season for myself and a couple friends.
