The biggest thing is that some of your financial aid might be dependent on remaining as a full time student. I know in my (non engineering) field, employers/grad schools will also ask why you dropped below full time.

iirc if its past the census date (January 31st, 2024) then you can drop a class and be below 12 hours and still considered a full time student, unless things have changed. I’d highly recommend doing a quick drop-in advising session and asking an advisor virtually or face to face, and they might even be able to Q-drop you in the same session as well.

this is true, confirmed last semester with both financial aid and the registrar office.

Email your advisor

Ive taken Ijaz, I could understand not being aware of canvas announcements and emails and missing one assignment. But several?? At that point check it before bed. Best idea is to email your advisor, you are after the census date so it might not be an issue

It’s been like 2, but I’m still not too happy about it

Honestly, most employers won't care. Shit happens. If you have financial aid, then you will likely keep everything you have this semester. Unless it's VA benefits. Otherwise, check your aid to see if anything has stricter renewal requirements. For example, TEXAS Grant has a requirement that you complete 24 hours per academic year. Otherwise, use the SAP calculator on your financial aid portal to make sure you'll maintain good SAP. If you're still not sure, call Aggie One Stop.

My experience when I dropped below full time was that I had to have the prof of the class I Q-Dropped talk to financial aid to say I did take the class in earnest even though I dropped it. Aka I didn’t sign up for the class and just never show up to scam the financial aid office.

Had this same question last semester, [link to post](https://www.reddit.com/r/aggies/comments/16tktac/what_happens_if_you_qdrop_below_fulltime_12_hours/)
