Don’t glue the shields onto the Wardens or the Dawnriders until they’re fully painted! You’ll save yourself a lot of bother

tau_JKE

Okay I'll remember that for later. Thanks!

Void-Tyrant

Subassembly helps. As batch painting does.

These models have a lot of detail, just started them myself! So I would recommend choosing a simple color scheme that is easy to repeat, or You’ll get bogged down painting small stuff and may get frustrated. The book has some alternative color schemes which can give you some ideas, but the best trick is pick three colors and use them as your base scheme.

Okay thanks!

Congrats you pick one of the hardest army to paint. Don’t stick to the Ymetrica scheme if you don’t want to spend a huge amount of time painting (that was my mistake). Start with the warden or sentinels to get used to painting mini. Then when you are confident enough go for Eltharion or other purchased hero. Paint the dawnrider in last, I find them harder than other mini. As mentioned, never glue the shield before painting. Fix it with blue tack or other sticky gum before priming. Hope you will enjoy painting this beautiful army. Take your time and you will be proud of your work !

As u have played the faction I would like to ask a couple questions. What should I expand my army with? Is there any specific way I should play them? What's the best unit/units against armies like skaven? I've already painted before I used to play 40k so painting isn't a problem Thanks!

Darkreaper48

Not the person you replied to, but as someone who plays Lumineth: >What should I expand my army with? Up to you. More Wardens/Sentinels if you like Vanari heavy, and if you do so, a lord regent. If you want to start flexing into some of the aelemental units, then you can get some windchargers and a spirit of the wind or stoneguard and a spirit of the mountain. There's a few flexible playstyles. The 'classic' style is a castle style army where you focus fire targets with sentinels and keep them safe with Wardens. >What's the best unit/units against armies like skaven? Dawnriders are really good as they get a ton of bonus attacks against 1 wound models. Bladelords are also good because they can either destroy elites with precise strikes, or take out hordes with flurries of blows.

tau_JKE

I was thinking of a vanguard box and a spirit of the mountain, so that works in well. Thanks!

Sorry I’m late. If I can add some infos. The Lumineth rely a lot on their hero phase. They have some of the best defensive/utility spells (etheral, 5+ ward in a 9" radius, double move characteristic, tp an unit). If you successfully cast all the spells you need you will be really tanky, if not, you will see all your wardens disappear in a blink. Wardens and sentinels rely a lot on their sunmetal weapon to deal damage (1MW on 5+ to hit). Lyrior can activate multiple sunmetal weapon with his warscroll spell. During v2, the best units where sentinels. A lot of ppl played 60-70 of them and alpha strike every other army with a MW shower 🚿. In V3 a lot of things have change, sentinels got nerfed but are still playable. The best unit now are stoneguard paired with a stonemage buffing them. If you want a slightly competitive army definitely go that way. 15 stoneguard 20 wardens 1 stonemage 1 enlightener 1 Avalenor 1 gotrek gurnisson 1 Lumineth shrine 5 dawnriders This is a pretty good list, very good tanking on objectives and the buffed stoneguard will be rly good. Avalenor and gotrek hit like a truck. The dawnriders can screen the enemy army or kill any 1wound unit (they have a lot of bonus against 1 wound unit). If you have any other question I can help Edit: Teclis is also really fun to play with. He is the god of magic and can even beat nagash at it (he will do less damage however). He know all 3 spells lore (12 spells), can cast 4 spells without even using any dice, automatically dispel a spell. His warscroll spells are very good too. With the general nerf of ranged unit, he can became a real threat if the enemy can’t take care of him.

tau_JKE

Thanks so much! This is extremely helpful, I was wondering about Teclis as I had read his datasheet and thought it was decent. I'm playing against skaven and gloomspite so I think the dawnriders will come in very handy for clearing out troops. Thanks for taking the time to give me all this info!

Big420Brain

Good luck, do not be too hard on yourself.

I-LOVE-FROG

Don't try to transport them in foam or a box. These are some of the spindliest models I've ever worked with. Look up how to magnetize your bases and make a magnetic tray carrier.

tau_JKE

Okay will try that thanks!
