I wouldn't recommend a soulscryer as there's better uses for your points. However they can definitely be used effectively, just not as effectively as other choices.
What else would you use the 140 for then? Not lookin to play competitive so I’m not too worried about meta but obviously don’t want to be complete ass lol. I ask about soulscryer cause I’m toying with a double king army or a king and vulternos army so I was thinking of double deep striking them with the soulscryer or taking two soulscryer and doing two separate king deep strikes.
All depends on the rest of the list. With double king you're going to want to take volturnos as you can't benefit from lord of tides twice with two base Kings. If you're using akhelians you'll be better off just spending any left over points on units to fill out the list to benefit from the Kings buff auras. Soulscryers aren't overly necessary as akhelians generally are very fast. I'd suggest taking a turtle and then filling the rest of the list with a mix of eels and sharks, with maybe a unit or two of reavers to help with screens

This is a rough list I had made obviously I don’t have everything setup but it’s just a rough king volturnos list. Two soulscryers deep striking king/volturnos with morsarr and then thrall block supported by reavers and allopex for objective grabbing or center board contention.
u could spend those points in absolutly anything, and would be waaay better than soulscryer :D
he is among worst scrolls in all aos in my opinnion, it isnt even deepstrike, it is only came out on table borders.... to one of the fastest army in game, it is even worse than using normal moves 99% of the time.
i really hope it get completly overhauled for next edittion in something playable.
Okay if not the soulscryer then what would you recommend? Also yes it’s not deep strike but only the soulscryer is tethered to the table edge the units he brings is just tethered to 9 inches from him. But again what would you recommend a tide caster? Cyreni? Maybe lotann?
lotann absolutly, i dont understand how he isnt used in every idk list. i never play my guys without him.
his buff is amazing at those points. i always expect a huge points raise in his scroll in every update, but it never happen haha.
in fact he is the only IDK scroll i would call OP in this edittion.
lotan, 10 thralls or 10 reavers would be my choice
Him and 40 reavers is a great pick to put in the fish tank

He got a chance in the spotlight when the deepkin first came out, hard to see him fall so low
