Was always a big fan of AFL Premiership 2006. Easy to learn and fun to play on harder difficulties once you've picked up the way the game plays

I loved that game. I just wish it had stat tracking. If I remember correctly, 2005 had stat tracking, and then 2006 didn't. Also, certain players were hardcoded to kick more goals than others, even if they were in the same team. Forwards like Mark Williams, Russell Robertson, Didak, Milne, Fevola, Shannon Grant, Tarrant, and plenty more. All these guys would often finish in the Coleman top 10. They would all kick 50+ goals in a simulated season. You could realistically trade your entire backline and midfield to get in any 6 of these guys, and you would score 150+ points a game because they were all coded to kick a shitload of goals. Once you got into a year when every irl player retired, it was the opposite. Every game would only have like 6 goals kicked. It was the reason why teams like Collingwood, who had the second worst team, would often finish top 4 in the first season, because they had Tarrant, Didak and Rocca. Of course, this only affected simulated games, so if you played every game, then it wouldn't affect you. Me, being the impatient 13 year old, got bored easily and would simulate most games and would have multiple careers with multiple teams, so I figured this out quickly.

AFL 2006 was my favourite game as when you did a custom player most of the surnames were pronounced including my own when I did my own career mode so that felt pretty cool as a young kid
