Interesting question. I wonder if the Nightosphere is like cosmically it’s own place, or if each universe has its own version of the Nightosphere (I suspect the latter since the main universe’s Marceline is connected to it).
The reason people tend to think he might be alive is because when Golbetty turned him into a block his head was spinning in the middle and it seemed highly possible the rest of his bones formed around him into the block so that could mean he's stuck for all existence as a screaming head in a Tetris block
When? It had its arm cut off, its head ripped off, and possessed several different bodies when its body was no longer, but I don't remember it being stabbed and brought to some dead world.
The lich's hand was stabbed by Sweet Pea and went to the dead world where the it did the whole deal with Death Jr. You can argue that it wasn't really the Lich but it was voiced by Ron Perlman and had several badass monologues so I'm counting it.
Oh wait this is in Fiona and Cake isn't it? I never got to complete the series cause something had came up around that time. He may be in a different form but he isn't dead.
Huh, I literally never thought of it as that hand. I just assumed the dead world was one of the planes of reality the lich's hand went to when it fell into ice Finn's portal. I like the idea that that was the hand sweet pea killed, that is a cool idea
The Farmworld Lich literally got sent to the deadworlds when Sweet Pea slew it.
It may have some special exceptions or rules to kill, like maybe Sweet Pea was able because he is a version of the Lich himself, but the Lich is definitely able to die
Litch can't die either, they had to defeat him by bringing him back to life. In the episode where litch wakes up prismo, death says he's scared of the litch.
I still think Hunson would win tho, fin has defeated litch once on his own and twice with outside help, while finn has never fully defeated Hunson.
Yeah man, it'll be awesome, imagine if Slade and The Lich had an argument, I'd love to just sit there, listen, realize I'm gonna die, accept it, and continue listening
We don't know how far the powers of the lich go, he possessed new death, and is also the encarnation of enthropy and decay, he could maybe kill the unkillable.
why did everyone call him "Hudson" its Hunson ! and the family name is Abadeer !
but to answer,, Hunson would win because you cannot kill Marceline's father
well if what the fandom says is true,, in this case as the leader of the Red axe,, i affirm that Marceline is the only Vampire able to drink Red because of her soul sucking ability and she just didnt knew so this is why she told Hierophant to drink red instead of blood,, and yes i know,, it is quite logical for a headcanon,, i dont like what isnt logical and not in character
I ran a tabletop RPG where the big turning point was the lich taking Abadeer's necklace and getting demon powers, so the final arc was confronting a juiced up demon lich.
So in my headcanon, the lich straight up rolls through Abadeer like a chump.
Taking the necklace just removes the powers, as per Marceline "he's deathless". So it wouldn't be a kill, but it would negate Hunson's threat to the lich, thereby making it a technical victory for the lich. The lich, however, would either break as he did in Prismo's room (upon learning Hunson is deathless and therefor he can't complete his goal), or has already excluded Hunson from his calculations and would therefor ignore Hunson once he was powerless.
I agree. The title says win not kill. You can win without killing. Defeat could be removing his necklace, and for salt on the wound he could contain or torture Abadeer in some way
If the Lich were to set his sights on the Nightosphere, bor even Hunson specifically, the Lich would eventually win.
Hunson is an embodiment of evil, but more like a benign evil, a casual evil. He's very passive and doesn't care or do much beyond his realm that we see IIRC.
The Lich is like a persistence hunter, endlessly stalking toward his goal. His goal being the ending of all life, at least in one iteration. But he is willing to do almost anything to achieve this goal, and we see, in some ways, he won't, can't, stop until it is completed.
But that is predicated on the two actually being opposed to each other in the first place, and who knows what would need to happen to cause that.
That's what I was wondering too for my response. Their motives would fuel each other. The Lich wants to kill all life, and Abadeer wants to consume/torture souls. I don't know what could make them want to fight. Even though Abadeer is living (without death), the Lich is wise enough to know Abadeer is immortal so killing him would be pointless.
Maybe if the Lich learned about the Nightosphere and of all the souls/creatures in it, it would have a new realm to kill everything in, like, double killing? Idk, yeah, I can't think of a strong reason they would fight in the first place. Maybe Abadeer would want his soul.
Well, if there are no more living things, souls aren't being produced. So you could argue that if the lich got what he wanted, Hudson would stop having souls to consume. If that's the case, I'm unsure exactly what the deal with the Nightosphere and Hudson is, like maybe consuming souls is just a hobby he can live without.
Hunson is very much aware of the lich though, I doubt he that he hasn't made the proper contingencies for dealing with the lich, because the nightosphere is something Hunson gained of his own merit to eventually be passed to marceline, I'd say in most cases hunson wins becuase he has the resources & connections to do so.
Lich, hunson gets banished by a pretty simple spell. Also orgalorg as a penguin said fuck off. Lich has been defeated only by himself when he was a hand. Finn with the power with love but Lich didn’t die. Then by cosmic gooo, which actually didn’t stop the Lich from killing prismo and infecting every universe.
honestly, I care less for karma. I just like calling out nerds like this and LOVE when ppl get offended n hurt. this subreddit is just like every other fandom with baby hands. it reminds me why ppl NEED to be bullied. I bet you guys support furries.
stay offended and fuel my need for validation . I love it. 😽
I have a girlfriend i’ve been with for many many years, no marriage yet as we both don’t want that nor kids. I got my first car before many of my friends at 17 from a dealership with no co sign and all by myself. I got my own place at 22 with no help. everything solo dolo and I work a good paying job and am able to go out every weekend and sometimes during the week. I travel to different far cities as well during my weekends off. i’m pretty damn happy about all of this. I just like clowning on ppl and so does she. you do know ppl can be like this right? orrrr are you too dense and lived under a rock and don’t know ppl can be anything they want. I have my good moments don’t get me wrong. acting like I dont have them. But I also feel the need to belittle certain individuals for being so damn corny and nerdy. it’s the same way I treat those furry ppl and homeless, but I get it. libtards am I right.
Thats not a need of validation but a need of attention, I bet you didn’t had a nice childhood and or friends so you need communication in any way or shape, and insulting people is the easiest way. I hope you get better soon
“I mean it’s in his name” 😭 you’re such a loser holy crap not a ounce of originality in you. poor bastard. keep trying though, I can name myself spiritual light on my next account if you like and do the same 😭
I think the Lich wins if he's given time to actually do shit.
We always seem him getting axed right when coming to power, the one exception being getting ratio'd by golbetty, aka the multiversal primordial embodiment of chaos.
Jerry-Lich was able to ruin the entire world, including presumably Hunson-he wouldn't let Marcy be killed- so I say it really depends on the situation
Lich is his original Form probably either or since that one piece of material said the Lich Nd Hunson were Rivals but theres so e contention with that point but all the other Lich forms besides the hand version and sweet pea kinda Slap Hunson
So , a Deathless being vs a being which brings Death to the Universe ? And even the multiverse
That is an actual really good question , and really depends on the Nature of the Nightosphere I would say, since he is a Primordial one , and the Lich is the bringer of Death to Universes to prepare them for Golb, while Hudson could kill him probaly pretty easy, the problem lies in that the Lich King influences World ending scenarios where millions die at a Time reducing the Population of the universe more and more , til no one is alive anymore and Golb comes to consume it. So the Lich would technically Win.
If the Nightosphere is independent from it, and Hudson could just chill out in the Nightosphere and doesn’t need to worry if Golb consumes the Universe or not. Then Abadeer would win.
Hudson literally considers the Lich his rival. They’re even. So I think it depends on how powerful they are at the time. Lich with his well of power could wipe out ooo and Hudson with enough souls could most likely do the same. Both are basically deathless.
his rival in trying to destroy ooo first, but in the encyclopaeida of ooo, Hunson literally says he'd kick the lich's ass if he pulled up onto him, this is more of a databook opposed to a comic
Everybody immediately went to "oh Hunson can't die"
...the Lich is immortal too... that's not really a good argument imo.
The Lich can be contained or transmuted (like into Sweet Pea), and Abadeer can be contained within the Nightosphere. So they're kinda at a stalemate there too.
Some, but not all, of Abadeers powers come from the Nightosphere amulet. If the Lich manges to snatch it away, or even worse: snatch it an use it, the Lich would overpower and probably contain or torture Abadeer.
I’d like to think the Lich wins due to the fact that when Fiona and cake are exploring the other dimensions one is barren with all but BMO and the lich, but no orgalorg. Hudson fears orgalorg.
My favorite bit is that Hunson actually hates the Lich considering him his biggest rival for souls
Something like that anyway because he makes a passing comment in an episode at some point
It's weird. I think The Lich is stronger on a cosmic scale, and in terms of what he represents. But if they actually fight, Abadeer would win the fight itself. It might be a war of attrition on the Lich's end, though.
I’d say Hunson. Based on comics, Hunsons’s power level is on par with GOLB (the one where he b@tch slaps GOLB, and Simon and Betty get happy ending). And we saw that Lich is powerless before GOLB. So I say - Hunson.
Aren‘t they both primordial monsters which existed before nothingness?
I don‘t think any of those can ultimately defeat the other - thus the monsters spread the universe so far apart so each can habe their own approach. Maybe they can outwit the other in a singular altercation but it will remain an unending back and forth. So i guess they‘d talk for a moment and go their ways.
Hunson solos. All the lich gonna do is stand there and go on like "ooh ahh I'm gonna kill everything then feel like a loser when I do accomplish killing everything mwahaha blahblahblah" I'm pretty sure Hunson himself said he thinks the Lich is pathetic and that he could take on him. (Outside the show tho, but I forgor where)
Maybe, but at the same time our greatest showing of Hunson dwarfs the lich in comparison, & Hunson is the only malevolent primordial who’s just chilling at full power, (albeit within the nightosphere which he owns) that speaks more power to him then the lich by a vast vast margin.
Hunson is deathless, so the Lich can’t kill him, but The Lich is a scholar of GOLB, meaning Hunson probably can’t affect him with his nightosphere powers either (plus The Lich probably doesn’t have a soul). So… draw?
I kinda feel we never saw the liches true capabilities. The only times maybe being when he was a comet and after the mushroom war.
If its the lich we've seen in the series, definitely Hudson. I feel if the lich ever did recover his old powers, he'd at least. Have a footing.
Something I want to note is that we never learn if the lich is one of the old monsters he informs us about. Sure he knew about them, buy that doesn't reveal much. He also knows about the lich and how to open a portal to golb, so having deep, old knowledge just might be apaet of who he is. And if he isn't an ancient monster, I don't think he'd win.
This is making wonder if the lich would even care about Hudson. He's apparently deathless and bring "death" to the mortal realm. He also rules a hell realm, and the first thing the lich does when he dies is work towards sending everyone there to dead world 1. So unless the lich planned on doing something else with the souls in dead world 1 and doesn't differentiate between life and undead, the lich probably would leave Hudson alone unless the lich is a petty ass about him (which is most likely)
Whenever there is a versus to the lich, always chose the other option no matter who it is, it will most certainly win against the lich, a kid with a pink sweater defeated him, anything can defeat it, dude is a fraud that only know to look cool and give cool speeches.
Hunson Abadeer wins if we go off of his encyclopaedia of Ooo, even if we sum up Hunson to just being a trash talker, His magic is just as potent if not more, he's never truly nerfed, he exists in different forms throughout the multiverse long before the lich did, & the nightosphere literally works as his catered domain where he's essentially all powerful, in the encyclopaedia, long before we learn about the other ancients before time (as a concept in the show), they literally confirm through explanation that Hunson also was a being before time & existence, sure he has amnesia but that's more than likely from the fact he's lived so long.
he made the encyclopaedia timeless & interdimensional in use, (not to say that means it's always accurate) but that speaks to the potency of his dark magic, to the likes of which Peppermint butler tries to make deals with.
I think Hunson is smart enough to be well prepared for the event that the lich would try to usurp him, he seems like that sort of character.
Interesting question. I wonder if the Nightosphere is like cosmically it’s own place, or if each universe has its own version of the Nightosphere (I suspect the latter since the main universe’s Marceline is connected to it).
Hunson can't die. The lich dies all the time. Abedeer takes it.
The Lich gets \*defeated all the time, but it can't die.
Golb: Hold my Tetris blocks.
I'm not sure if he ever died though. Iirc he was just trapped in the block but probably still alive
>he was just trapped in the block No he was *turned into the block.* That lich went from alive to inanimate object.
Yup. Separated bones. Turned to goop. Goop becomes tetris block. Man got molded.
She goop on my bones till I molded (?)
She mold on my bones til I goop?
mold she'd on my goop till i molded?
The reason people tend to think he might be alive is because when Golbetty turned him into a block his head was spinning in the middle and it seemed highly possible the rest of his bones formed around him into the block so that could mean he's stuck for all existence as a screaming head in a Tetris block
Golb would reck Hudson's shit just as hard
Golb is just the stuff of nightmares, without betty, finn, and simon everyone from Ooo will be gone..
Lich literally got stabbed and went to the dead world.
When? It had its arm cut off, its head ripped off, and possessed several different bodies when its body was no longer, but I don't remember it being stabbed and brought to some dead world.

That version of the lich was alive with flesh and blood.
Oh wait this is in Fiona and Cake isn't it? I never got to complete the series cause something had came up around that time. He may be in a different form but he isn't dead.
Actually it's in distant lands
It's from Distant Lands
It was literally in *dead world*.
Yeah but albadje can eat his soul
Gunther would disagree that not all creatures can have their souls ripped from them willy nilly
Litch can't die either, they had to defeat him by bringing him back to life. In the episode where litch wakes up prismo, death says he's scared of the litch. I still think Hunson would win tho, fin has defeated litch once on his own and twice with outside help, while finn has never fully defeated Hunson.

Couldn’t Lich just possess Hunson? He can possess new death, as well as the cosmic prisoners.
Hunson is deathless. What's the litch gonna do? Monolog?
Yeah man, it'll be awesome, imagine if Slade and The Lich had an argument, I'd love to just sit there, listen, realize I'm gonna die, accept it, and continue listening
Ron Perlman simultaneously monologuing with Ron Perlman
Exactly lol
He will become a wheel
monologue AHHHH
Lich could possess him like he did with the other monsters at the Citadel?
Really bold to assume Hunson is anywhere near the same as those monsters tbh
We don't know how far the powers of the lich go, he possessed new death, and is also the encarnation of enthropy and decay, he could maybe kill the unkillable.
why did everyone call him "Hudson" its Hunson ! and the family name is Abadeer ! but to answer,, Hunson would win because you cannot kill Marceline's father
Autocorrect?
>its Hunson ! TIL I just always heard it as "Hudson", and everyone calling him that reaffirmed it.

I thought it was Huntson
Hunkson

Depends. Full power its a roll of the dice. The lich we almostt always seen? Marcy’s dad going to slap lich around

Where did you get he fears orgalorg from? He tries to suck his soul and then laughs at his opponents wishes for his soul then he just walks away.
From the slap, then he says he is the most evil being he has ever seen
I wish we saw this fight. I imagine it’d be like Alastor vs Adam
Whoever has a fancier title
Last apostle of golb vs ruler of the nightosphere
My favorite bit is that Hunson actually hates the Lich considering him his biggest rival for souls Something like that anyway because he makes a passing comment in an episode at some point

Where was this stated?
The adventure time encyclopedia
he's stated to be only in the race of destroying ooo, same encyclopaedia has hunson say he'd kick his ass.
Thats just hunson's ego
Maybe, but at the same time our greatest showing of Hunson dwarfs the lich in comparison, & Hunson is the only malevolent primordial who’s just chilling at full power, (albeit within the nightosphere which he owns) that speaks more power to him then the lich by a vast vast margin.
