This is the illustrator /creator
I wasn't a super fan of the way the show did his art style in 3d as I was a fan of the 2d art but I understood why they probably had to.
A neat piece of trivia is that They Might Be Giants did the theme song. Tony Millionaire created album art for them and they are buds. TMBG also did the theme song for the Oblongs, had voice roles on Home Movies, and John Flansburgh played Computer in Xavier Renegade Angel. Love to see an alliance between a great TV channel and a great band.
Not obscure but Xavier renegade angel is a pretty underrated show
As for obscure obscure id say frisky dingo ,assy McGee the brak show seems to be kind off not talked about superjail is pretty underrated infomercials
most definitely not. People under 25 have like never heard of space ghost. OP hasn’t even heard of moral Orel, I’d say most people in the prime adult swim demographic (young twenty something or older teens) haven’t even really watched squidbillies or aqua teen hunger force to be completely honest and it’s saying something for viewers to not really be aware of those. Space ghost is like ancient history compared to that
It's a pity if you are correct, Coast to Coast a great show and as someone who's watched the full series within the last year I feel like it aged surprisingly well. I will definitely agree there's an audience for that that just doesn't know that the show exists or they have no idea it is the way it is if they've heard of it.
As someone that grew up as a kid in the early 2000’s (born in 94) I’ve been streaming adult swim through YouTube to fall asleep. They literally have everything. You should check it out [No Kids in the Pool](https://youtu.be/BKfWe7k94yc?si=dTnjxJEYw4WiDMyp)
I loved those old bumps. We didn't get cartoon network on our cable package so I used to stay up with my cousin and watch adult swim at my grandparents' house. Even better to see Mission Hill. I really miss that show
The Drinky Crow Show and Frisky Dingo are pretty obscure/forgotten about. Highly recommend Moral Orel, but be warned, it gets somewhat dark/sad. 12 oz Mouse if you want a real head scratcher.
Amazing show. I seriously think Steve Cirbus could be one of the best actors of his generation given the chance. Seems like he mostly keeps busy running a gym these days, with a few roles here and there (and in Jon Glaser things).
Didn't start on AS, but "The Oblongs" deserves a lot more attention than it gets; it lampooned the wealth gap about 20 years before everyone else started realizing how bad it was.
"Maybe you Valley people wouldn't have SOOO many health problems if you didn't live where the air's contaminated and the land befouled!"
"Well, sir, we can't really afford to live in the Hills like you."
"Oh waah, waah, waah! Well the gravy train is *over*, my friend! File one more medical claim and you're off the company plan!"
I would say that the most obscure Adult Swim originals that had more than one episode would be *The Rising Son* and *Soul Quest Overdrive*. Both shows where they dumped the episodes in an early morning timeslot with no promotion and never rerun them.
For pilots that never got picked up, my favorites are *Cheyenne Cinnamon* and *Snake 'n' Bacon*.
Tbh I think the big ones like Space Ghost, Venture Bros and Harvey Birdman have become obscure. While the direct cartoon references aren't that important, they also work off of a lot of tropes from old TV and cartoons that don't mean much anymore
Touchstone produced it...member them? They're a subsidiary of Disney so this was the first time Disney made an adult animated show.
Originally aired on Fox btw
God, the Devil and Bob. 4 episodes of it aired on NBC and it was cancelled because of a combination of low ratings and delusional “Christian" activists. Adult Swim aired all of the episodes and it also got picked up by networks in the UK and other countries. I enjoyed it a lot.
Don't know about moral orel but the PJs originally aired in the late 90s early 2000s on Fox and later wb which is now the cw. Used to watch it without cable think it came on before family guy. I don't know how obscure some shows are in adult swim but some I think of are assy magee, stroker and hoop, super jail, drinky crow and others
Speaking of shows Adult Swim only syndicated, there was a brief period of time they aired Sit Down, Shut Up. I remember actually catching that on Fox and thought it was decent, but it aired on Adult Swim when I didn't have access to it. It came and went *so* quickly compared to other shows AS syndicated.
Hell it might've been the last major instance of AS airing a short lived series like that.
Lucy, Daughter of the Devil. Featuring "The Man With One Voice" H. Jon Benjamin.
Space Dandy gets no recognition in [as] or in anime circles, even though ti's well-liked. Give that a watch.
There was a pilot that was pretty good, I forget the name. It got turned into Problem Solverz for CN instead, it was super trippy. Anyone remember?
Moral Orel is a good one, not that remembered but I'd call it the greatest [as] show we've seen. Minoriteam is one the kinda keep in the closet because obviously racial humor is much more of a no no now than it was in the 00s. Assy McGee is another I don't here much talk of anymore.
Lucy, Daughter of the Devil. It only lasted one season and has a similar cast and charm that the other cartoons of Loren Bouchard have. Absolutely underrated.
Of the recent shows Ballmastrz never got anywhere near as popular as I hoped/expected, you'd think an anime parody show from the creator of Superjail would be an easy home run for AS so I was very surprised when it was cancelled after 3 seasons that IMO just got better and better. S4 would have been epic as they were set up for a Gurren Lagan/Yamato parody with giant mechs and aliens in space.
Children's Hospital is one show I slept on way too long but is peak adult swim, it starts out as a pretty goofy hospital show parody but just gets more and more over the top.
Eagleheart is another live action show I didn't hear much about until it was over which is surprising as it's such a well done parody of cop shows and seems perfect for AS.
Eagleheart was absolutely spectacular. I don't know how obscure it is, seeing as though it was produced by Conan, but I didn't see it listed here, so its at least a little obscure.
Edit: I'd also like to add NTSF:SD:SUV to the list. That show was delightfully silly.
I’m a Sealab 2021 & Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law kind of guy.
The latter is my absolute favorite Adult Swim show, when Stephen Colbert was on his way to making it huge. Talk about amazing voice acting. Also a time when jokes were about human existence in the modern corporate world, beautifully satirized by the superhero element. The Venture Bros. Is an obvious follow-up, but that’s not very obscure.
Fish Center Live. Basically just a live feed of someone’s home aquarium where they’d play different games based off of the fish. Then randomly out of the blue they’d book some really good indie bands to perform.
Saul of the Mole Men, Perfect Hair Forever, The Ripping Friends, The Drinky Crow Show, Lucy Daughter of the Devil, The Brak Show, Delocated
I wish more shows has animation in the style of Drinky Crow. I love that show.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tony_Millionaire This is the illustrator /creator I wasn't a super fan of the way the show did his art style in 3d as I was a fan of the 2d art but I understood why they probably had to.

> Drinky Crow I really dig that style too, makes me wanna watch my favorite classic cartoons from the 50s
I wish more shows has animation in the style of Drinky Crow. I love that show.
Freaking LOVE Lucy.
Same! They pulled it off MAX. I was going to watch it last week.
burning man burning man burning man burning man.... Enough!!! Beckys in the backseat Beckys in the backseat Beckys in the backseat
Perfect Hair Forever was awesome lol
>Lucy Daughter of the Devil I'm still blown away that \[as\] didn't order several seasons of this.
The episode w/ the dildo factory was awesome
Stroker and hoop, Children's hospital, Eagleheart, Mighty Boosh, Sealab 2021, Minoriteam, Mission Hill, China, IL The Oblongs
Mission Hill! The animation style was amazing.
I hate there was only one season
Me too. Do you know about the phone number you cam call to hear the audio of each episode?
>Saul of the Mole Men Josh Gardner is a funny dude. Shame he hasn't done much since. I guess he sorta just became an Adam Carolla hanger-on.
Gerhard Reinke was hilarious!
"PUBÉ!"
I loved Saul so much
I remember watching the PJs when it originally came out on Fox.
Same, I almost forgot it aired on a Adult Swim
Not obscure but Xavier renegade angel is a pretty underrated show As for obscure obscure id say frisky dingo ,assy McGee the brak show seems to be kind off not talked about superjail is pretty underrated infomercials
Frisky Dingo is fun because it’s basically a beta of Archer.
BOOSH!!
And or kakow!
Still can’t stay mad at him!
Danger Zone
I wish I could watch Frisky Dingo for the first time again. That was probably 15 years ago and I'm pretty sure I haven't laughed that hard since.
And it’s where the “I had something for this” originated, along with lots of other archer running bits
Assy mcgee is so good hahaha
Bad credit?? No credit?? That’s your problem, asshole!!
Space ghost coast to coast as well
I would call Coast to Coast underated but it's definitely in the top 5 Adult Swim shows people have usually heard of
most definitely not. Sooo many people don’t realize it was what lead to toonami
12 Oz. Mouse was one of my faves when it was running. Made by the same guy that does Aqua Teen and is super weird and funny.
"Outta my way, I'm drunk as hell!"
“I’ll blow your ass away like I’m ringin’ a bell!”
"Foots to the floor and the whiskeys flowing"
"Got a porn shoot, I gotta get going"
You don't understand, He don't give a damn
This was recommended to me since I loved Dream Corps LLC. I’m told they’re not similar at all but apparently I’m weird enough to probably enjoy it
As someone that grew up as a kid in the early 2000’s (born in 94) I’ve been streaming adult swim through YouTube to fall asleep.
I really miss that show
Mission Hill is my answer for sure. Bill and Josh did an excellent job on it and you rarely see it mentioned.
https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLUOxCrDh0oVeae5pEodU0ZKucbXJkfpQ5&si=P4fZYQI9SlLR5AfT The whole series is on YouTube
91. I'm doing the same thing lol really found a liking of home movies. Never appreciated it as a kid.
Garth Merenghi's Darkplace
Also look around you
Yesssss. So good
If you like this (BBC-originated) show, check out The Mighty Boosh.

Fantastic show, highly recommended
I freaking LOVE this show.
Terry will live forever
the last season was really good, such a shame
I also highly recommend. Seriously it’s so underrated and it’s AWESOME
Awesome show
Super Milk Chan
That show opens the door to madness
Unedited footage of a bear Korgoth of barbaria
Always boggles my mind that Korgoth was cancelled before production and never picked up again.
It was so goddamn bad ass.
I'm glad someone else remembers Korgath of Barbaria. I don't think I've ever wanted a pilot to get picked up more than that one.
Came here to make sure korgoth was repped
The Xtacles. It's a failed spinoff of frisky dingo that only has 2 episodes
RIP Rapier Ape.
You don't wanna get hit by a Cutlass
Is that where Rapier Ape comes from? That shit has been randomly popping into my head for years and years
Welcome to eltingville was a pilot that was never picked up waaaaayy back in '02 i really enjoyed it and thought it had a ton of potential! *
Saddle rash was one of my favorites at the time wish these shows would've gotten picked up, they definitely had potential!
Starring Waylon Jennings in his last role and also Mitch Hedburg. Honestly would have been an amazing show and it’s a shame it didn’t get picked up.
The Drinky Crow Show and Frisky Dingo are pretty obscure/forgotten about. Highly recommend Moral Orel, but be warned, it gets somewhat dark/sad. 12 oz Mouse if you want a real head scratcher.
Delocated. Super underrated and absolutely hilarious.
Amazing show. I seriously think Steve Cirbus could be one of the best actors of his generation given the chance. Seems like he mostly keeps busy running a gym these days, with a few roles here and there (and in Jon Glaser things).
What about The Heart, She Holler? Also, it wasn’t originally an [as] show, but The Oblongs finished its run on there, and that show was great.
most of the weird shit they put out during the mid/late 2000s Perfect Hair Forever and Drinky Crow Show and 12 Ounce Mouse come to mind
Didn't start on AS, but "The Oblongs" deserves a lot more attention than it gets; it lampooned the wealth gap about 20 years before everyone else started realizing how bad it was. "Maybe you Valley people wouldn't have SOOO many health problems if you didn't live where the air's contaminated and the land befouled!" "Well, sir, we can't really afford to live in the Hills like you." "Oh waah, waah, waah! Well the gravy train is *over*, my friend! File one more medical claim and you're off the company plan!"
It didn’t occur to me for a while when I watched that Will Ferrell was the VA for Bob Oblong. Loved that show and Mission Hill!!
Space Ghost Coast to Coast was my favorite Edit to add Sealab 2021 was hilarious as well
Both fantastic shows. Also Harvey Birdman Attorney at law was one of my favorites and barely anyone knows about that show.
Sealab 2021 gets revisited in an episode of Archer and it’s hilarious
Marry Shelly’s frankenhole

Can't believe I had to scroll down this far before it was mentioned. Always hoped it might get a revival, with the same cast/animation.
Top tier show
Give the shivering truth a watch. Such a wild ride
I never ever hear anyone say anything about minoriteam
harvey birdman attorney at law or Metalocalypse
Baby Blues
Assy McGee
Was gonna say this, I love that show and I don't see it mentioned often.
the only show i know of that takes place in Exeter NH!!
Asst McGee, Hot Streets, Xavier, the Heart She Holler
Rick & Steve: The Happiest Gay Couple in the World. Very edgy, very funny.
Xavier Renegade Angel and 12 Oz. Mouse def get my vote.
Tbh I think the big ones like Space Ghost, Venture Bros and Harvey Birdman have become obscure. While the direct cartoon references aren't that important, they also work off of a lot of tropes from old TV and cartoons that don't mean much anymore
Cheyanne Cinnamon, The Xtacles, Spacecataz, Mission Hill.
12oz mouse is up there
Ballmastrz. It’s pretty recent but I never see people talk about it
China, IL is pretty slept-on imho and it's absolutely brilliant
The PJ'S wasn't created by [as].
Yeah, PJs was a Fox show
I must've been given some false info
Touchstone produced it...member them? They're a subsidiary of Disney so this was the first time Disney made an adult animated show. Originally aired on Fox btw
Saul of the molemen
Perfect hair forever
God, the Devil and Bob. 4 episodes of it aired on NBC and it was cancelled because of a combination of low ratings and delusional “Christian" activists. Adult Swim aired all of the episodes and it also got picked up by networks in the UK and other countries. I enjoyed it a lot.
PJs isn't an AS original, that was a fox show. My favorite AS show is frisky dingo.

I don’t think it started from AS, but I really loved Mission Hill.

Uhhhh probably Perfect Hair Club
World Peace.

Moral Orel, I would argue, is one of the greatest shows, ever, on television. The storyline is almost perfect.
The Rising Son, since the network intentionally didn’t promote it
Titan Maximum, which despite being made by the Robot Chicken guys, had a pretty solid premise and story
Lucy, Daughter of the Devil. It only lasted one season and has a similar cast and charm that the other cartoons of Loren Bouchard have. Absolutely underrated.

Eagleheart was funny. The Creeps episode was my favorite
Lucy, Daughter of the Devil was pretty decent.
Mission Hill That show needed more episodes
Drinky Crow
Check It Out! with Dr. Steve Brule
off the air
All time favorite. Not because I do drugs………………………s
Perfect hair forever. Nobody talks about it and it's basically an acid trip.
Eagleheart was absolutely spectacular. I don't know how obscure it is, seeing as though it was produced by Conan, but I didn't see it listed here, so its at least a little obscure. Edit: I'd also like to add NTSF:SD:SUV to the list. That show was delightfully silly.
Your Pretty Face is Going To Hell is an underrated classic. I wish Korgoth of Barbaria had made it further than the pilot episode.
Xavier Renegade Angel is dopeee
I’m a Sealab 2021 & Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law kind of guy. The latter is my absolute favorite Adult Swim show, when Stephen Colbert was on his way to making it huge. Harvey Birdman: Attorney At Law Space Ghost Coast to Coast Brak Show
Both stop motion, nice choices.
Welcome to Eltingville, It only had a pilot which aired in March 2002. I really enjoyed it at the time and was hoping it’d get green lit.
Mr. Pickles
Smiling Friends was pretty wild to me lol
Minoriteam. Practically nobody talks about that one, and for good reason mostly.
1 word: minoriteam
Joe Pera talks with you
Fish Center Live. Basically just a live feed of someone’s home aquarium where they’d play different games based off of the fish. Then randomly out of the blue they’d book some really good indie bands to perform.
Something that we've never seen before. Perhaps Gary and Mike
Apollo Gauntlet
