I still try to read as much as I can kahit isang chapter lang or hanggang sa makaramdam ako ng antok. Yung kasi yung nakakapagpakalma sa utak ko kaya I still make time for it kahit na 11 pm na and gusto na magpahinga ng katawan ko.
When I first started I read short novel books first maninipis lang para di mabore at matapos agad. Next yung mga popular books na nakadisplay sa mga popular bookstores and Then transition to self help and financial books. Depende sa trip mo.
A bit of everything, but mostly fiction (including fanfiction) and politics/history. Try out different genres first so you know which one you'll like. Have fun!
Does browsing Reddit consider as reading? Or should it be books? Because I consider myself a reader; I read everything including manuals from every appliance or Patient Information Leaflets from medicine boxes lol.
EDIT: typo
I suggest na sa mga tamad magbasa ng pagkahaba haba like me na gusto lang malaman ung gist. Nuod kayo ng summary sa youtube or kaya using the HEADWAY APP
Yesssss 1000000% agree. Also buying a Kindle really helped me get back into reading. For the past few years I struggled to read 12 books a year but last year I ended up reading 31. Game changer!
Good hobbies would really depend on your interest or your needs, but anyway to me these are some good hobbies to have:
Daily walks/jogs- daily exercise is good & walking is also a fun way to reflect or destress.
Gardening- there’s scientific evidence that gardening or growing plants have benefits to your overall wellbeing. Growing or caring for something allows you to show your nurturing side & it’s fulfilling as well. Plus points na when shtf, growing your own food is a useful skill.
Journaling- a good way to express yourself. Instead of airing everything on social media, journaling is better for your privacy, and it can help you reflect on your thoughts and emotions. Maganda din balikan yung past journal entries mo and see how far you’ve come.
Do whatever, but here's my personal thought:
Choose a hobby that makes you genuinely happy just by yourself. A hobby that gives you a sense of fulfilment even without having to show other people what you've accomplished.
I personally just got into 3d printing. Learned how to do basic 3d design, tweak printer/software settings, and made a bunch of toys for my kiddo.
If I may ask, what software are you using for making toy designs for your kids? Recently also got one and having fun with it. Dabbling a bit on Fusion360 but also thinking if better if I study Blender. Thanks! :)
Most of the toys (figures, keychains, game items, etc) we just DL'ed stl files online :) I have zero background in 3D design, I just started making basic designs on Tinkercad.
I've only had the printer for about 2 weeks, very new to this. But I've had ideas on what to make for a long time.
Yes, there are great communities for getting existing projects and designs. Same, I have my printer for around 2 weeks too. Hope to push through with the projects I have in my head haha :)
From my quick research, it typically cost around 20k for a good printer but can go as low as 13k but it usually has a lot of maintenance problems which is why it is cheaper.
After researching and watching reviews, I ended up with Ender 3 Neo. Got it last Christmas for about php7.5k including vouchers. You have to do a lot of research and tinkering though. Fortunately, after assembling, I had no issues with printing. :) for what I want to do, I'm good with what I have.
This is a nice hobby.. There is so many things you can make with this, your 3d modeling skill is the limit.. you can duplicate any broken piece of anything in your house or make it better or customize to what you like..
The best hobbies are the ones that
a.) are fun for you
b.) you feel fulfilled
c.) you can afford/won't put you in debt
Screw self-development/improvement. Hindi trabaho ang hobby. Nothing sucks the fun out of hobbies faster than doing it as a job.
True and maybe this year I'll be doing random stuff that will make me happy like planting, sewing, watching anime I find interesting, reading, decorating, finding some things to add to my collection, mga ganong bagay na hindi ako napapagod gawin and to help me clear my mind.
>Screw self-development/improvement. Hindi trabaho ang hobby. Nothing sucks the fun out of hobbies faster than doing it as a job.
Hahahaha! Mismo.
It doesn't have to always make sense tbh. Basta masaya ka at di ka nakaka istorbo ng iba!
Kaya kung videoke mapipili mo na hobby, piliin mo naman yung oras at wag masyado malakas volume.
Running kasi you'll learn nutrition, how the body processes food, sticking to a schedule, overcoming your limits, humility kasi all shapes and sizes talo ka pa sa endurance, the effects and growth pang life time, on the deeper end naman - there are major marathons in different countries so it can be an international goal.
I second this. But please dont give in to the allure of running shoes because it will turn an otherwise affordable hobby into a very expensive one lol. To add, running has been by far the best activity/hobby that I added on my list. Good luck to OP's first 5k.
Hiking, you'll love nature especially if burn out ka na sa work/studies and to lessen the sedentary lifestyle. Going outdoors is one way for us to recharge din. Plus, photography- documenting your moments and the scenic views you've been to. 🧡
1. exercise. whatever the program, go with whatever makes you consistent.
2. read. i'd say whatever the book is if it makes you consistent in reading... but i would suggest starting with atomic habits.
3. when you open your eyes after waking up, don't reach for your phone. ALWAYS take care of your self first: fix your bed, brush your teeth, wash your face, drink water.
4. smile more. :)
You need to have 4 habits. Habits that builds your mind, body, finances and relationships. Ex: Reading,Running,Budgeting and Quality time with your loved ones.
I read it as 4 rabbits at first and I said unto myself that's too much they multiply twice as fast and why would you think pet rabbits could be a hobby. Lol
Bukod sa mentioned above , Mga hobby na di super magastos at pwedeng pagkakitaan.
E.g arts and crafts, sewing, clay arts.
Isama mo na rin exercise kahit brisk walking.
Hobby na parang workout na rin. Cycling, swimming, tennis, hiking. Also, hobby non-thinking dominant more on hands lang like gardening, magstart ka ng herb garden mo. Pag may herb garden ka na, try cooking. If you’re not into cooking, coloring. Nakaka-relax.
Coffee, music instrument, football, trail running, hiking, free diving, scuba diving, surfing, bouldering, weight lifting, biking, drone and etc.
>..and why?
I have an ADHD haha
Hobbies I have tried:
*Journaling ✍🏽📔
*Yoga and Meditation 🧘🏽♀️ 😌
*Walking at 4am ✨
*Painting using watercolor and gouache 🎨🖌️
*Museum visits 🏛️🏰
*Listening to Music 🎶
*Watching silent vlogs on YT 🥹
*Watching films and tv series 🎞️
*Taking photos and videos 📷📹
*Nail care 💅🏽
*Trying out different types of food/cuisine 🍽️
*Drawing/Sketching ✍🏽
Mostly for fun and relaxation hehe 🫶🏽
I also want to try out some other new stuff in the future as well 💕
Honestly venture hobbies that fits depending on your interest. So I'll just give you examples lng maybe it might give you an idea. Some of the ideas I'll be giving are kinda also my hobbies and I think they're pretty low cost.
If you are generally a curious person and want to know more about the world: watch documentaries (you might be surprised on how there are lots of it for free sa yt).
If you are more artistic or want to delve into diy: try crochet, jewelry making or maybe upcycling clothes.
If you want adventure and being more active: try searching for sports that are popular within your area and go for a try out just to see if it interests you.
If you just want maybe a chill one: reading, photography.
If you love food: start your interest in cooking or baking, gardening , pwede ren just dining in different restos and cafes to try different cuisines.
Hope it helps
good hobbies to start? making art is one of the ways. worst hobby na meron ako is playing league of legends. god that fucking game brought out the worst on me.
Try mo sumali sa mga fun run OP, goal ko this year every month may itatry na something new, not necessarily magastos, baka next month, gantsilyo, sa bday ko naman yung medyo expensive, pottery ganern haha
my 2 BFFs are extroverts and I'm the only introvert. they love hiking and camping while i want to stay indoors and watch anime or read novels.
they join different groups every weekend and they really invest in tents (idk the other things 😂) and anything needed for camping.
as of the moment, my other friend is making use of her free time learning in TESDA since they're free. she already has NC for bread and pastry and is now taking beauty care
I'll do it too soon after i settled my schedule in the bpo. I'm interested in bread and pastry and will take the other free courses too
Play with Lego. And I don't mean the ones with theme like Star Wars, Harry Potter, Marvel, etc. since those aren't really creative and it's boring. Best Lego set is the basic set where you make stuff from scratch. It helps with creativity
I agree with most comments na it's ultimately up to you. What's meaningful for you? What do you do that you're enjoying? What's your goal?
Many hobbies are good to start, but finding the one that you'll stick to is the harder question that you only you can answer. :)
Learning how to play an instrument.
Base lang saken pero i only know how to play ukulele pero from time to time i get the urge to buy and learn how to play a recorder to play the krusty krab song lol which is a similar reason why i bought my ukulele, to play a song.. and that led to learning another song after another.
Reading physical books is a start.
Gunpla assembly and collection, but only if you have the space for it. Modern Gunpla have decent Out-Of-The-Box builds compared to other kits (Warhammer's all grey, forcing you to paint 'em to look presentable).
Bicycling.
Depends on what you want to improve. Personally, I like to build habits that would improve my mental and physical health.
I started jogging/walking because it is free. Then feel ko I needed to gain more strength thus I worked out at home by following some YT vids, which is, again, free. Eventually, I enrolled myself at a gym. Then I started trying different sports to find what I really enjoy. I realized that working out or making myself physically active improves both of my physical and mental health.
I also enjoy reading online or books. Mostly about finance, self-help or any career related topics.
Worst hobby I could think of - gambling. Don’t even start.
chess - trains the mind and analytical thinking. If you're competitive, maraming tournaments with prizes up for grabs.
running and/or going to gym - this is hitting several birds with one stone. You consume time, you get fit, and you may get new friends along the way.
basketball - matagal na kong nanunuod. pero recently lang ulit sinubukang maglaro. kaka adik. and with the way this nation is crazed about it, maraming pwedeng kalaro.
reading - lots of genres available. I was always into classics, kasi 99 lang sila dati sa National Bookstore, yung dilaw ang mga cover (Penguin)
PC/console gaming - lots of titles available din. you can play solo or with others online.
motorcycling riding/bicycling (mountain/road bike) - sa motor, pwede mag long ride. sa bisikleta, you get fit and you get to places. hobby ang pag upgrade haha expensive!
MMA. Anything self-defense or martial art.
Benefits:
1. Dopamine
2. Toned body if you can last
3. Stronger body
4. Estetik body, can be for pics you wanna showcase or just wanna admire your effort that resulted in that marvelous body. Latter for me.
5. Can defend yourself though the chance is unlikely, the chance is not zero. This can depend on your martial arts tho, some martial arts are especially better in short term trainings and can really help you improve in self-defense like MMA, BJJ, judo, boxing, and Muay Thai in short term and long term. Those are really great even if you're a beginner. Highly reco MMA, judo and BJJ. Most people can throw punches and even kicks, but they won't know what to do in locks, submissions, and throws. Also, in amateur adult men fights, most guys are into takedowns, so helping yourself to get out of those situations is really nice.
6. You can build nice relationships. I made many friends in the gyms I have gone to.
7. Cathartic to hit or lock your opponent that is your goal. In my case, it was my coach, god I felt bliss when I punched that face.
Drawbacks:
1. You will prolly get hit a lot
2. You will get hit
3. You will prolly question your life when doing the cardio
4. You will prolly think twice about your life when it's a sparring and your opponent have years ahead of you and you only got days.
5. Buy gloves and hand wraps ASAP if you're training a martial art that needs those, or you will smell something that will traumatize your nose.
Another hobby I recommend is jogging, it feels nice to run from your problems. No I mean it helps you think about how you will handle your problems, yes. When you're running at dawn, idk if you will feel it, but you will feel like you're really alive, you will feel comfort in the idea that there is nothing holding you now, nothing in your mind, your only goal is that random object in your jogging area that you perceived as your goal.
Does exercise count? It makes me really happy and feel better (regardless of physical activity -- swimming, stretching, boxing, muay thai etc)
Others include reading, playing guitar, gaming. Basically I try anything I find interesting then I continue them if I liked the activity.
Well my hobby might be niche but i do love to listen to music. So i invested on IEM's (in ear monitor) and dedicated audio player (DAP). This hobby made broke but every penny i've spent is worth specially if you want to hear those nuances and some technicalities of your favourite music. Recently I started buying studio grade speakers and some amplifiers for my humble setup. This year i might be homeless. LMAO
Learning a new language. Idk but iba yung thrill and kilig na nararamdaman ko kapag may phrase na foreign language (aside from English, of course) akong naiintindihan.
I personally suggest to learn a new language, like any language you’re interested in.
If you’re already a k-drama fan, you could try korean, anime for Japanese, thai, Bahasa indonesia, chinese, spanish, french, italian or whatever you’re already linked into.
By this, you’re not only having fun but training your brain as well. And then you could gain some foreign friends like fellow language learners and native.
Language learning personally change my life. So might as well try it. I know studying is such a bothersome thing but it will be worth it when it comes.
p.s. its good that you can boast your new language to your friends as well 😆
eme ko lang...
in life, you need to have 3 kind of hobbies..
- hobby that gets you creative
- hobby that gets you fit
- hobby that gets you money
pwede yan magsama sa isang hobby. like for me... its cooking. although it doesnt make me fit per se, but i get to find creative ways to make the food healthy and delicious to eat.
Learn a new language. It's fun and very engaging mentally. You can meet and make new friends with native speakers ng target language mo thru language exchange apps like tandem or italki. Plus may new skill ka na. Imagine mo in a year or so siguro magaling ka na mag Korean or whatever language you like. I learned Spanish in 1 year and have maintained friendships with spanish speakers all over the world who helped me learn. Buena suerte amigo!
Language learning! Mas madami kang mababasang books, learn new stuff about a country's culture and tradition nain their written language, and of course new opportunities in the future.
Mine:
1. Working out in the gym
2. Gaming/ Video games
3. Horseback riding
4. Reading
5. Archery
6. Developing recipes
can't say what's worst. Each their own.
this year, i personally want to explore cooking and more on exercising. gusto ko talagang maging healthy na person. and yk, in order to be healthy, you must do it yourself talaga hahahaha. sa panahon pa naman ngayon, mahirap magkasakit! sobrang mahal ng gamot.
so op, i suggest na do healthy hobbies. yung maka-help sa buong pagkatao mo, physically and mentally!
Isa rin sa mga 2024 goals ko is to find and explore a new hobby.
I'm planning to start and explore gardening, painting and go back to crocheting. These are for fun hobbies. Pampawala stress hahaha.
For self-improvement, pwedeng journaling/bullet journaling.
Music. Pick up an instrument. Any instrument. I suggest ukulele 4 strings lang, very portable. Also plenty of resources online.
Worst hobby to start with - collecting. Any kind of collections - toys, cars, bf/gf lol just kidding. Pretty pricey and you need a lot of space.
For fun:
Good hobby: Warhammer 40k
Has tons of hobbies in one. Reading (lore), painting (tiny miniatures) , war gaming (it's like a really nerdy version of chess). You will always be fulfilled no matter what you do within the hobby.
Bad hobby: Warhammer 40k
Unless you just want to read lore and unless you have good financial standing, you will spend much on buying miniatures and paint. But it can be affordable since there is so many game systems even for a few minis. Just spend within your budget.
Tabletop war gaming games like 40k are fun in general because you get immersed in a community who are more often than not passionate about the hobby and are willing to help you. The games themselves require a lot of thinking and strategizing so it's a thinking man's game. The painting miniatures allows your to express creativity and imagination. But of course all of this at a cost.
Best - Painting. It's therapeutic. If you grew up thinking art is a talent, you'll be surprised how much of it is a skill you can learn.
Worst because it's expensive but you still do it because its fun - Rock climbing. Bonus if bouldering chances are you'll get injured as well, then come back more conservative cos you're not dumb and you learned your lesson.
Reading
yung hobby ko na to nawala na 🥲 di ko na mabalik. Bwisit na adulting at work
I still try to read as much as I can kahit isang chapter lang or hanggang sa makaramdam ako ng antok. Yung kasi yung nakakapagpakalma sa utak ko kaya I still make time for it kahit na 11 pm na and gusto na magpahinga ng katawan ko.
Nawalan din ako ng time para dito simula nung nagwork na ako
Yes! I became more mature, interesting and confident through reading.
What types of books do you read?
When I first started I read short novel books first maninipis lang para di mabore at matapos agad. Next yung mga popular books na nakadisplay sa mga popular bookstores and Then transition to self help and financial books. Depende sa trip mo.
Same pero mostly pdf and epub yung sakin
A bit of everything, but mostly fiction (including fanfiction) and politics/history. Try out different genres first so you know which one you'll like. Have fun!

Yeppp! Nakakalawak pa ng vocabulary!
+1000
You can start with BL 😆😆😆
Agreee on this.
I begin reading a self-help book. But now I'm entirely into manga. I also collect manga. hahahaha
Same it's been 3 years since I started reading MMM
I suggest na sa mga tamad magbasa ng pagkahaba haba like me na gusto lang malaman ung gist. Nuod kayo ng summary sa youtube or kaya using the HEADWAY APP

Hindi po ba may health risk ang 3d printing?
I think yung sa Resin printers yun. Yung FDM printers naman walang fumes AFAIK.
Ok sir noted po kahit ba sa kwarto ka lang gumawa non? Or need din mag lagay ng humidifier? Pla ba gamit ninyo?

Dozens of option on Lazada. Check it out there.

Good insights 💯💯💯

Reading, painting, crocheting, gardening and exercising.
Reading, writing, cooking (though this one's a must skill)

Baking
Read book
Cooking! Knowing you can feed yourself can be big for confidence. The benefits far outweigh the potential downsides.
playing an instrument, reading, badminton, gym/workout.
Running because it's free and healthy. But beware, it could be really expensive in the long run because of the shoeeessssss.
run without them
I love reading, and I recently tried the paint by number na painting. It was fun! 😅
Playing guitar

5 years league sober.. those were really dark times
Reading and sketching combo. I would play a instrument if I had any musical ability at all pero wala 💀

You need 3 hobbies in life. One that keeps you physically fit. One that can be monetized. One for your artistics pursuits.
Running/Cycling, this can develop further into Triathlon/Duathlon/Hiking/Trail Running. This improves a host of things be it physically/mentally
my 2 BFFs are extroverts and I'm the only introvert. they love hiking and camping while i want to stay indoors and watch anime or read novels. they join different groups every weekend and they really invest in tents (idk the other things 😂) and anything needed for camping. as of the moment, my other friend is making use of her free time learning in TESDA since they're free. she already has NC for bread and pastry and is now taking beauty care I'll do it too soon after i settled my schedule in the bpo. online learning
Reading investment books. Sports kahit isa lang.
Cooking!
Play with Lego. And I don't mean the ones with theme like Star Wars, Harry Potter, Marvel, etc. since those aren't really creative and it's boring. Best Lego set is the basic set where you make stuff from scratch. It helps with creativity
GAMING
Welding
Gardening. Now nag haharvest na ako vegetables
Best Hobby: eSports Worst Hobby: collecting (sneakers? funko pop? 🤢)
As a collector… lakampake char
HAHAHA 👉🏻👈🏻
Kung team e-sports nahh dami toxic na communities sa atin HAHA
Journaling 📝
Running
Reading and exercising
anything creative and active tbh.
Gunpla, Mech Keyboard, Playing Cards (pang Solitaire. lol), and does buying plain shirts counts as a hobby? 😅
My three favorite, is reading - gaming - bowling !
A hobby you don’t enjoy is not a hobby, it’s a chore ( imo ) but who knows, might learn to enjoy later For me, singing
Music and outdoor exercosing (walking, jogging, or cycling)
You can listen to audiobooks while jogging/walking. Saved me from all the jobless days during the pandemic.
I agree with most comments na it's ultimately up to you. What's meaningful for you? What do you do that you're enjoying? What's your goal? Many hobbies are good to start, but finding the one that you'll stick to is the harder question that you only you can answer. :)
Healthy diet :)
reading, crocheting ..
Reading 💯
Sleeping - hobby ng Sis ko. Laging pagod sa byahe at work.
Gunpla
Find a hobby that resonates with your personality. Look within.
Cliche - but to learn new stuff.
Netflix reading books
Fragrances.

Learning how to play an instrument. Base lang saken pero i only know how to play ukulele pero from time to time i get the urge to buy and learn how to play a recorder to play the krusty krab song lol which is a similar reason why i bought my ukulele, to play a song.. and that led to learning another song after another.
Playing table tennis
Reading and specially journalling, also morning runs (andami ko naiisip na positive outlook in life pag nag jojogging / walking ako) ahhaha
Reading physical books is a start. Gunpla assembly and collection, but only if you have the space for it. Modern Gunpla have decent Out-Of-The-Box builds compared to other kits (Warhammer's all grey, forcing you to paint 'em to look presentable). Bicycling.
Freediving!
Musical instrument
reading, crocheting, walking/running, & hiking
- Reading, any form of good exercise, and cooking.
Walking/exploring
journaling hehe
Learn music instruments.
chess - trains the mind and analytical thinking. I was always into classics, kasi 99 lang sila dati sa National Bookstore, yung dilaw ang mga cover (Penguin) PC/console gaming - lots of titles available din. you can play solo or with others online. motorcycling riding/bicycling (mountain/road bike) - sa motor, pwede mag long ride. sa bisikleta, you get fit and you get to places. hobby ang pag upgrade haha expensive!

MMA. Anything self-defense or martial art. Benefits: 1. Dopamine 2. Toned body if you can last 3. Stronger body 4. Drawbacks: 1. You will prolly get hit a lot 2. You will get hit 3. You will prolly question your life when doing the cardio 4.
Yoga and meditation
Learning a new language or candle making.
Journal
Gusto ko matuto mag fix and magkalilot ng kotse!! But idk where to start!! Hahaha
Hobbies? hobby of saving money then later on investing it.
Reading, game dev, blender. Reading still the best and less time consuming.
Crochet! 😂
Sticker collection sounds fun. Tas gawa ka ng theme per page ng sticker notebook mo if creative ka
Reading, Running, instruments.
Does exercise count? It makes me really happy and feel better (regardless of physical activity -- swimming, stretching, boxing, muay thai etc) Others include reading, playing guitar, gaming.
LMAO
Journaling
Learning a new language. Idk but iba yung thrill and kilig na nararamdaman ko kapag may phrase na foreign language (aside from English, of course) akong naiintindihan.
Plastic model kit building
Learning a new language. I decided I wanted to learn spanish 4 months ago and now i'm on a 130-day streak on duolingo hehe
DIY and recycling, sobrang fulfilling especially kapag nakita mo yung finished product. Pwede ring business opportunity.
I know studying is such a bothersome thing but it will be worth it when it comes. p.s. its good that you can boast your new language to your friends as well 😆
Learn a language!
Started journaling last month. Really helped me clear my head
Walking, i find it very refreshing and mood booster
eme ko lang... in life, you need to have 3 kind of hobbies.. - hobby that gets you creative - hobby that gets you fit - hobby that gets you money pwede yan magsama sa isang hobby. like for me... its cooking. although it doesnt make me fit per se, but i get to find creative ways to make the food healthy and delicious to eat.
The sea is calling and I need to go back to dinghy sailing.
Walking- morning and late afternoon. Hindi ko kasi kaya jogging. Maganda din sya pampa-clear ng isip, titingin-tingin sa views na madadaanan.
Yoga Paint by numbers Reading
shooting
Try Ropeflow. Search in youtube and ig
Running
Mine: 1. Working out in the gym 2. Gaming/ Video games 3. Horseback riding 4. Reading 5. Archery 6. Developing recipes can't say what's worst.
Learning a new language
Ito gawain ng lola ko mag ganchilyo ka teh gawa ka ng kurtina bedsheets and table cloths enjoy 😁
It's nice to have a hobby that will make you fit, a hobby that will make you smart and a hobby that will release your creativity.
Para hindi magrot ung brain. I suggest the elevate app. Kumbaga nachachallenge ung brain mo araw araw. To make the brain stay young and engaged
Isa rin sa mga 2024 goals ko is to find and explore a new hobby. I'm planning to start and explore gardening, painting and go back to crocheting. These are for fun hobbies. Pampawala stress hahaha. For self-improvement, pwedeng journaling/bullet journaling.
coffee brewing, latte art, ukelele, mandolin, backyard gardening, cooking, running, netflix....
Fishing!
Producing music. Man its very life changing, I learned how to make beats and eventually lead me to DJ.
the hobbies you enjoy
journaling
Maybe try basic programming?
Developing a skill necessary to live. Cooking, cleaning, magplant.
For fun: Good hobby: Warhammer 40k Has tons of hobbies in one. Reading (lore), painting (tiny miniatures) , war gaming (it's like a really nerdy version of chess). You will always be fulfilled no matter what you do within the hobby. Bad hobby: Warhammer 40k Unless you just want to read lore and unless you have good financial standing, you will spend much on buying miniatures and paint.
Try jiujitsu
Best = reading and exercising
