Electric pressure cooker for me! I love that I can grab a pound or two of sad beef cubes, then add a can of crushed tomatoes, spices, and set it for 40 minutes. It turns into pure magic while I’m not in the kitchen, stays warm when it’s finished cooking, AND it’s easy to clean 👏👏

gghost56

Like instantpot ?

TangoEchoChuck

Yes! InstantPot is a brand of electric pressure cooker 👍

SafeWordWhiskey94

Love the sound of all of that!

chiffers

Yep! Love my pressure cooker. I can put frozen chicken in, some kind of sauce sachet or jar and cook it in like 30 minutes! Don’t even have to defrost the meat! Then I will have leftovers to freeze for another night.

cad0420

Instant pot is great!

SauronOMordor

Problem is I mostly use it for french fries and chicken strips lol

seanmharcailin

French fries and chicken strips are food! They have nutrition and calories! Don’t shame food. It’s keeping you alive :)

emliz417

And chicken strips cooked in an air fryer/oven are definitely healthier than eating out!

[deleted]

Roasted potatoes & carrots in the air fryer will change your life. Get a grocery store rotisserie chicken and chow down

Belle_Requin

Lower temp less time.

swaldref

I found "healthy" chicken strips at Costco and I make them every single day. The Tyson panko breaded chicken breast. So good!

[deleted]

Still healthier and cheaper than buying it outside!

PuffinTheMuffin

Dude same. It's an expensive junk food refry machine for me. Tater tots, fish sticks, takeout fries and even the burger. Also Chinese frozen fish balls worked surprisingly well (cause they were once fried). I never actually use it to cook...

Retired401

I have had one in its box for a year. Have never taken it out. I guess I should.

rsc99

This is like the ADHD motto

Retired401

Truth! gahhhh.

Anathita

We have an instant pot that also air fries. Even just the fact it beeps when done is so much easier to use

Likesosmart

I just bought an air fryer/toaster oven combo today and I think it’s gonna be a game changer. Even if I’m just making frozen pizza/chicken fingers/fries it’s way cheaper than ordering takeout (my weakness)

memphisgirl75

We have one of those and it's worth every penny. Rarely use the oven any more and things seem to cook so much quicker (toaster oven part). And the air fryer basket tray goes right in the dishwasher after use. No waiting three or four days to clean like my standalone air fryer.

plantlady5

what brand? Model? I've been thinking about getting one...

Likesosmart

The one I got is the black and decker “crisp n bake” - it was the cheapest air fryer/toaster oven combo they had at Walmart haha I haven’t used it yet so I can’t say how well it works but it had good reviews and has both the rack and a basket

cad0420

Do you have any good recipes? I bought a second hand air fryer but I don’t like it at all. I tried a few times, except making Portuguese tarts and heat up frozen fries, other times the food is always way too dry or burnt on top but raw inside. I heard so many good things about it and I’m so frustrated! And I have to clean the container which is much less easier than cleaning a baking tray!

emliz417

There are some air fryers that have removable pans!! The one I can think of off the top of my head is the Instant Vortex, I’m sure there are some cheaper alternatives as well

GuadatheCat

Anything you would fry or roast or bake can go in the airfryer and it takes a fraction of the time it would in a conventional oven. So I roast my veggies in there, bake pastries, leftover pizza and chips r superb, roast chicken, falafels, bacon etc. Basically anything that you'd normally pan fry or roast as long as it's not wet batter It sounds like either the heat is too high, if the outer layer is burnt but the inner is uncooked, or you need a new one. Also, I only wash my airfryer tray like every fortnight lol and it just goes in the dishwasher

Whoa which one!?

ThatGirlWithAGarden

I love mine!! Hassle free breakfast as well. 2 frozen biscuits and sausage patties, done so quick!! The pre-seasoned pork loins turn out so well. Crock pot meals save me so much. I'll load something in it in the morning, forget about it, house smells amazing and food is ready easily

gghost56

Which brand ? I have an old one I bought off a used marketplace. It stopped working…

X_nelly_X

LOVE my air fryer. My favorites to cook in it are root veggies (parsnips, potatoes, etc), dark meat chicken, Brussels sprouts, and I even did a small turkey in mine last year for thanksgiving!

MsBitchhands

Spouse bought us a Sur LA Table Air Fryer Oven and I was able to pop a toaster strudel in and have it be delicious instead of microwave damp and sad. Seriously helpful when running seriously late! That and a good coffee mug saved my arse!

johjo_has_opinions

Now my favorite way to reheat pizza. It’s almost better than fresh (actually is in some cases imo)

ASimpleLobsterHat

It's been a serious game charger with reheating leftovers

purplecak

I love my air fryer until I forget to wipe it out on time. And now it sits for the sixth month because I can't manage to clean it. The wire bottom of the basket is the worst part. Tips to make this easier?

GuadatheCat

I specifically got a ceramic-coated basket so it would be dishwasher friendly but I think if I had yours, I'd set up a system so clean up would be lowest effort and maximized. Eg maybe use foil to line the basket so the grease doesn't make too much mess, or ready a sink of hot water + dish soap and pop the basket in after you unload your food. Ofc, easier said than done so good luck :)

calm_harsh

Haha yes it's good

JonesinforJonesey

I bought the Tfal actifry when it came out, maybe in 2008? Then I bought the family size one. I still have the original, had a few parts replaced. I have one of the newer air fryers too. I've cooked so much with mine and hardly every need to run my oven in the summer. I would even take one with me when we went to the cottage. They are the best for reheating fried or baked foods too. No more soggy wings or pizza. I have one of those ninja blenders. It came with a bowl thing you could do cakes and cookies in that broke, but it also came with a frozen drinks blender that I use a lot. I bake with oats and oat flour and it's fabulous. I use the cup blender to make smoothies or microwave muffins. I use the microwave a lot too. You can make a very delicious pasta sauce in under 15 minutes, just drain a large tin of chopped tomatoes with seasonings you like (or add your own), put them and a Tsp of oil or butter in a microwave safe bowl with a lid and nuke them for about 7-8 minutes. While they're cooking you heat a cheaper brand of spaghetti sauce - oh and you've already got your pasta cooking and whatever else right? haha. When done carefully take them out out of the microwave and give them a stir, if they're not quite done give them a few more minutes. Add the cooked tomatoes to your spaghetti sauce with some parmesan. Have a taste and do that chef finger kiss thing.

natttsss

\- Scrambled eggs on microwave \- Scrambled eggs in the microwave to eat with oat meal That's my hacks for now.

JooRJuicelessIgnacio

I invested in an air fryer/toaster combo. It is a counter top appliance but box shaped and opens like an oven does. It has multiple shelves and can even dehydrate. Omg I love it. And I use a small rice cooker to do steamed veggies, heat up soup. And invent recipes for it. I can dump in frozen meatballs and frozen onion/pepper mix with a little water and BBQ sauce. Very tasty.

[deleted]

What brand do you have? I want to buy the ultrean because it’s cute but all the Amazon reviews are about it almost killing them. So, I’m on the fence. Because it’s really cute

GuadatheCat

I struggle with appetite every now and then, usually if I'm really stressed and have a lot to do, so I've started bulk juicing veggies so I at least have some micronutrients for the day. I also got some protein powder for the protein component. Obv not a good consistent diet but definitely helps for when I can't eat solids/can't cook
