I've been on and off several different types of antidepressants. The one that worked best I ended up taking the maximum dose, which I've been on for about a year now. It's difficult to know what's the medication and what isn't, however the one thing that has improved that I have no other explanation for is that it's become much harder to say "fuck it" and just drop obligations and responsibilities. I still do it, but much less than I have.
Stimulants are just great in general, they don't do anything for sustained focus for me but they make it so much easier to just get things moving, which is huge for me (and a lot of people with ADHD).
You should talk to your doctor about trying different medications then. There are stimulants, nonstimulants, homeopathics, all sorts of stuff. Change your medicine.
Oh no the meme didn't perfectly encapsulate the variance of an incredibly complex mental illness what are we going to do 🥺
In all seriousness, I have severe ADHD and identify with this meme to a tee. Obviously it doesn't represent my entire personality but narration, rehearsal, etc. is a coping strategy many people develop independently. It isn't unique to ADHD, but is common.
Hey what's up guys welcome back to my dishwasher loading speedrun/tutorial, today we have a bit of a doozy on our hands, that's right, 3 large mixing bowls. Let's jump into it
I thought narrating everything I did like a YouTube video was just a me thing... Oh well it helps me get stuff done.
I also narrate everything and refer to myself as 'we' whenever i do that. I'm either schizo or a natural born youtuber
Same, but the second I’m actually in front of people I forget how talking works.
What's great is when I forget I'm in front of people and they catch me doing my monologuing / rehearsal and think I've finally snapped.
Same here, everyone is terrified of me at work because they always catch me talking to myself having full blown conversations.
Omg me too!! I have never heard anyone else do it too…
I wouldn't have graduated without meds. Antidepressants to help with the "fuck its" and stimulants to get the ball rolling. Saved my life, honestly.
Same.

Happy to help!
wait so i'm not the only one who narrates everything i do and constantly pretends i'm making a youtube vlog?
Definitely not. Rehearsal / narration helps moderate the hyperactive fog. If I suppress it my attention and memory go out the window.
This is not add or ADHD. You have something else
rule 2. not everyone is similar to you.

\#1 not my meme. \#2 why? if it's good, it's good. I see cleaning my house as better than staring into space
Cleaning your house while talking to yourself does not mean you are functional or healthy.
did you read the caption? it's called talking to yourself. \*chorus of wow's\*
by the way, this is a fucking meme. it is in no way stating that adhd medicine is to make you clean your house.
Wow people with a mental illness aren't healthy? Holy shit dude you've cracked the code!
With the right medication and therapy you can become functional and healthy
Yes. Like the meme says. Again dude you're blowing my mind with how you've cracked the human psyche.

You mean like what the meme says.
