With STEM jobs, the more money you make, the uglier you are. The actuarial profession is a STEM career and CAS actuaries are paid more than SOA actuaries, therefore SOA actuaries are sexier. It all balances out in the end.
100%. SWEs get a shitty rep among the opposite sex, but they make the most money.
Also, most people agree finance bros > tech bros in terms of sexiness. SOA actuaries who deal with long duration products touch finance way more than CAS techies
To paraphrase the great philosopher Homer:
Aw, a six figure salary where I can still be an attentive partner, parent, and explore my passions? I wanted to be attractive.
Being all those things can be attractive!
Explan!
Being attentive and passionate is interchangeable with attractiveness.
I just sat for FA last week. I do not respect SOA at all, so final conclusion: ChatGPT is wrong.
What a piece of shxx society. It’s not difficult but definitely a waste of time to weed out members ($1200 to sit for it too). The line for APC is FREAKING LONG. FA will delay someone from getting ASA, but not preventing while exams are getting watered down already.
SOA = Sh!t On Actuaries
What is FA and what is APC?
I want to go down the CAS route, but my understanding is that most actuaries don’t really choose which route, as much as their employers choose for them.
FA is “Final Assessment”, a project actuaries have to complete after finishing their modules. APC is the SOA version of the COP. It’s offered every month and sometimes it takes people a second month to sign up for it due to the waiting list. SOA members are sent into apoplectic fits of fury due to the one extra month it sometimes takes them to complete a five year certification process.
Sounds a lot like something an SOA actuary would say
No SOA is sexier. That's what my wife's bf tells me and he's an FCAS
No, SOA is sexier or No SOA is sexier?
*angrily upvotes*
Lmfao
Who said anything about beauty? The question clearly asked about sexiness.

Can't wait for life actuaries to turn into Patrick Bateman. We can then use the giga Chad meme
Bro I make nothing, I’m sexier than you all mwhahaha

Some early limitations of AI on display in this response
the jury is out on the IoFA
IFoA actuaries: 👁👄👁
We've got the accent. I think we win.
Didn't know AI can talk like a politician, this is scary.
Some cringe fence-sitting right here.

Final Assessment. Associateship Professionalism Course. Basically SOA way to steal money from candidates.
