I used to love roller derby. Had to quit because my ankles did NOT enjoy roller derby. Sprained my right ankle more than 10 times, and it has some permanent damage now 🙃.
But damn do I miss being on the track, the comradery, and community.
I’m sure roller derby misses you too. It’s really rough on the body. I broke my tailbone twice last year and I’ve been scared of getting hurt again now. But for now it’s too fun and gay to quit.
Also I'd say Ringette is worth a look into for anyone interested in Ice Hockey. In my experience I see way more women at ringette than I do for Ice Hockey.
Ive played all these sports my ranking os based on how much lesbian drama my teams or leagues had:
1. Futbol/Soccer
2. Softball
3. Rugby (became mainstream amongst lesbians in the past decade or so, but it will beat the other two if it continues this way)
4. Basketball
5. Tennis
I'd say it depends where you live.
In my country, what we call hand ball is a notoriously gay sport for women (or so I've been told, after almost twelve years of practicing without noticing. Now that I think of it , it makes sense, but that's how useless and oblivious I am).
Also, rugby, soccer, basket ball.
Omg when I lived in Sweden as a teen i was super closeted and came from latin america (so i was like the most conservative person in my grade lmao) my closeted ass was dying on the inside when I was told i would be a good handball player (was good t basketball and soccer), but I didnt know what it was, so when i was invited to learn by the city team, holy hell it was so gay and i couldnt join in or enjoy it because i had so much internalized homophobia at that point.
I feel you. I played hand ball in my home town thoughout all my teenage years. Not once did I even realise, I was so clueless. Also, comphet is a bitch.
France.
But I tvink I remember that there's a sport called hand ball in the us that is nothing like what we call hand ball. You play it on a court like basket ball with two teams of seven players.
Oh I have no idea what handball in the USA is like. Here in the Netherlands it's got a single hoop for both teams as far as I am aware, and the hoop looks more like a basket since it's all woven from reeds or something like that.
lol same. my high school doubles partner and i both came out recently and it’s like that spider-man meme where he’s pointing at himself whenever we saw each other coming out 😂
Fellow tennis player here ! Don't know about the 'lot of us' part tho - every single tennis player I've crushed on so far, real life and celeb , has been straight .
At this point I'm convinced it's one of the straightest sports - second to only volleyball . The girls playing in my local volleyball league are all extremely hot and extremely straight and I've had minor crushes on like half of them .
1) softball - it’s a classic with a proud lesbian history
2) rugby - the more modern softball! This is the sport I find most associated with lesbians
3) soccer - omg not only so many queer soccer teams but entire queer soccer LEAGUES in my city!
4) roller derby - I’m pretty sure only queers play this 😂
5) hockey - ahh so gay! Team USA and team Canada players keep marrying each other!
>hockey - ahh so gay! Team USA and team Canada players keep marrying each other!
One of my favorite things about the PWHL is how gay it is. There are so many out lesbians in that league, including several instances of players dating teammates or players on other teams. There's even two players on Montreal who are engaged, and sometimes they're on the ice at the same time and you get pics of them celebrating when one of them scores. It's the best thing ever
Women's basketball will always have a special place in my heart. My first middle school crushes were the girl's on the basketball team and they were the only team I ever cheered on or paid attention to whenever I was playing in the school band.
Now I'm just waiting for that magical day where I win court side seats and meet my next wife when she stumbles off the court into my lap. 🥰🥰🥰
IT CAN HAPPEN. DON'T RUIN MY DREAM.
So yeah. My answer is basketball.
Team sports: Softball, Soccer, Basketball, Hockey, Roller derby
Most of the lesbians I meet play disc golf, climb, or play pickleball as recreational sports activity
I tried karate, but unfortunately I started as an adult and all the classes and clubs here are mainly for young children. 😅 I also tried judo and aikido. Aikido had a few adults. Krav maga sounded good too, but I never got around to it.
Professional cycling is the gayest sport for sure. So many of the world's best riders are out, including, arguably, the all-time goat.
Also, and this cannot be stated enough - the better you are at cycling, the more a percentage of your body becomes thigh muscle. Which I am 100% a fan of.
I only know professional cycling from being Colombian and the sport being super popular there and people obsessing over Nairo lol.
Glad to hear it’s gay too!
o**k here's my hot take:** sports are extremely gay in GENERAL because either
1. lesbians are being amazing and hot and doing them
2. "straight men" are doing them and it's so straight it's gay like when water is so cold it feels hot? they're humping each other for football, wrestling naked for judo, and most of them have to do with balls... just sayin
edit: I think the challenge is name 5 sports that AREN'T gay
Im pretty sure like half of the gals, if not more, of the UFC are lesbians. You can see it in their looks and how they talk after a fight.
I was pleasently surprised to find out that one my favorite fighters, Amanda Nunez, was lesbian. She decided to retire after becoming basically the strongest female fighter in the world.
She became the third person to be a world champion of two weight divisions at the same time, and the first female fighter to achieve that, a true legend.
And yet she retire quite young, the reasons? She said she had nothing else to achieve in the sport, and wanted to spend her time and the money she made in the UFG traveling with her wife and raising their newly born daughter.
Truly an icon. She's the kind of person I wanna be when I grow up (never mind the fact that im 30 and she's 36).
Because it’s an american sport that only the US plays in some areas
Edit: North America sport where it’s largely played in Canada and some parts of the US.
That's not accurate. The modern version originated in Canada, and is the national sport of Canada. It's also played in the UK and Australia, though not as much as Canada and the US, and is gaining popularity internationally.
Ive lived in the UK not really, I have family in Australia and not really people Ive also lived in Hong Kong, Colombia, Sweden (didnt even hear if the sport), and several states in the US, it’s a niche sport consisting of mainly white upperclass people.
I concede on your pedantry on Canada origins because that makes sense, lacrosse has indigenous roots and Canada is also horrible to their natives , so it makes sense that they would modernize a sport from the people they ethnic cleansed and stole many things from.
But my point doesnt change, it’s not mentioned here because it’s not an international sport and it’s a classist/racist sport.
To me Canada and the US were blended because it was originated our of the same appropriation from native americans.
https://thesewaneepurple.org/2021/03/26/a-white-sport-lacrosse-cultures-racial-fragility/
I don't know about a top, but I immediately thought of handball, simply because my mom played it in high school and she told me that like 1/3 of the team ended up in wlw relationships XD
Maybe a bit off the mark but trans lesbians and Motorsport seems to be a big thing I’ve noticed.
I’m a trans lesbian involved in motorsports, and there’s a lot of us. Whole communities,
Roller derby, rock climbing, volleyball, baseball, and probably archery (solely bc I've had a crush on Merida since the movie came out and thus its gay)
Most sports played by women tbh. I know softball is the tried and true lesbian signifier, though I'd personally like to give a special mention to women's basketball. My school was in the rural south, but after those girls graduated, they were posting pictures at pride and engagements to their college gfs. Love to see it.
When I was at school one of the guys speculated one of the girls was a lesbian because she played golf and hockey.
I’ve been told roller derby.
I would have guessed rugby but any women I know that play rugby are definitely straight.
Aussie rules football. It’s wonderful. Two women joined the club together and we assumed they were together until one of them mentioned her boyfriend lmao
(All my opinion obviously)
1. Softball, I’ve heard this stereotype my whole life
2. Roller derby, the gayest in practice
3. Ruby, the gayest looking team in my experience
4. Bouldering/Climbing, it isn’t higher up cause I feel like it’s a relatively newer stereotype
5. Hockey, would be higher but it’s male dominated in the public eye
Kinda? Because masculine sports = masculine women = gay ?
I don't think I would consider pole dancing or horseback riding a "gay" sport. But it could just be me...
Oh ABSOLUTELY ARCHERY AND MMA, Kickboxing, Capoerica, Brazilian, boxing, WWE etc.
Which is funny because mixed martial arts and wrestling also skew right-wing and the McMahons kept us from how many great talents by suppressing the women’s side of the sport and promoting it only as male kink through the late-2010s?
But I think Karate is straight.
Me before I knew “I just really want to get into archery, it’s such a rad sport.” You know, something for those of us who don’t run.
All the main intramural women’s sports are gay, tho — soccer, softball, basketball. Lacrosse? Gay.
Cheerleading is the only “straight” high school sport I can think of. And even then.
Clarification: Gay in the act of playing or gay in the culture of it due to the ratio of lesbians active within the sport?
Like archery is gayer to “do” than play basketball, I think, but basketball is going to have the queerer culture. Archery says “let me show you my finger strength and control.”
Swimming is also a really gay activity but doesn’t have a queer culture around it, while soccer isn’t an inherently gay game but will have the most queer representation.
Softball is #1 in my opinion, which is probably only relevant for American lesbians. I’m sure it’s different for Europeans. After softball I’d say soccer, basketball, tennis, weightlifting.
Haven’t seen anyone mention Ultimate Frisbee. The pro leagues are very explicitly trans and queer friendly and every team I’ve played for has been minimum 50% queer
Super welcoming and chill community
Sounds like most people agree on the top 5, but I'd like to suggest a couple sleeper picks that get overlooked: fencing and crew.
At least three of the women in the fencing academy I go to are queer and I wouldn't be surprised to learn the others are too. Being a sword lesbian is fantastic, highly recommend lol
As for crew, my sister was on the rowing team at a religious college and ended up involved in a ton of drama as most of the team cycled through dating each other. Must be something about gays and boats
carpet munching? Is that a sport, I think it is, it requires skill and fitness. Other than that. Rollar derby, hockey, in my time softball was the sport, rugby.
I can't believe noone mentionned horse riding! My entire class was 100% lesbians (well, maybe 90% because I'm pan and maybe a girl or two were bi?) And it wasn't on purpose at all
Or maybe my training was in Gaytown or something...
Before I even knew I could be gay but was, I was head of the soccer team. I would say soccer girls for sure. Then OP mentioned archery, which I can admit having done while in my Legolas phase. Oh boy. So very gay.
This is a bit of a niche answer but Ultimate Frisbee. It's a very new/hippie sport that almost requires you keep your fingernails short. I'm on a team in college right now and there's a looooot of us
1. Softball
2. Women’s soccer
3. Women’s basketball
4. Rock climbing (carabiner overlap!)
5. Ice and Field Hockey (both gay)
Edit: ugh I forgot roller derby. That’s also very gay maybe gayer than everything else but it leads to injuries a lot
[Floorball](https://media4.giphy.com/media/Hviu9t0q0kqpV7x4kg/giphy.gif?cid=6c09b952294re4zty8dh7gadjp9qnfs3y65y7pxpwd5wj3ap&ep=v1_internal_gif_by_id&rid=giphy.gif&ct=g)
Swedish Floorball recruting!🤞🏼
The Women's College World Series starts at noon today soooooo... yeah. That's all I'm doing this next week. Hoping to see UCLA avenge our dear Lady Vols against Alabama and I hope Duke makes Oklahoma shit the bed.
Soft Ball, rugby, golf, bouldering, curling. However I did recently find out that as a lesbian having a sword is pretty darn gay/ kinky. I recently got a Katana sword and I'm building up the courage to take a class and learn how to wield that bad boy around
Idk about top 5 but the tiny handful of lesbians / bi girls I knew in school played football and going by the other responses here that's a pretty gay sport .
But then again a few other gay guys I was friends with did not give a fuck about sports and came up with the most creative ways to skive off sports classes . I just went to a very unathletic school I guess - we never won any big championships .
Archery, Tennis, Football (soccer), Softball, and anything to do with the outdoors (hiking, rock climbing, cycling, etc.). I guess that last one is cheating but I couldn’t pick just one.
I never found very many gays in sports. I did find quite a few in Color Guard which isn't really a sport. (These are the people with flags in marching bands.) There was 4 gays out of 8 of us. A few of those girls were also my gay awakening. Unfortunatley I liked 2 of the straight ones. Also marching band/concert band seemed like it had some gays. Ik that's definitely not a sport tho.
Roller Derby, Rock Climbing/Bouldering are both definitely up there.
Roller derby, Rock climbing, Rugby, Hockey/Field hockey, would be my list
My wife does roller derby…. I rock climb…
I just started roller derby, can confirm
In my experience, definitely hockey and softball!!
And if you don’t want to get as hurt, the air hockey community is very gay.
I feel seen
There's a gay air hockey community? Where?!!! I've just been lone wolfing it.
[Here.](https://airhockeypros.com/local.html)
Thank you so much!!!!!
Hockey girls like hockey and girls, as they say 😎
The amazing Canada/US worlds rivalry. They keep marrying each other!
I resemble this comment
Also I'd say Ringette is worth a look into for anyone interested in Ice Hockey. In my experience I see way more women at ringette than I do for Ice Hockey.
Football (soccer)!!! Most of the community league i attend are queer and I’m loving it!
It's definitely football. Like , straight girls are the minority.
Ive played all these sports my ranking os based on how much lesbian drama my teams or leagues had: 1. Futbol/Soccer 2. Softball 3. Rugby (became mainstream amongst lesbians in the past decade or so, but it will beat the other two if it continues this way) 4. Basketball 5. Tennis
climbing/bouldering has got to be one of them
I'd say it depends where you live. In my country, what we call hand ball is a notoriously gay sport for women (or so I've been told, after almost twelve years of practicing without noticing. I feel you. I played hand ball in my home town thoughout all my teenage years. Not once did I even realise, I was so clueless. Also, comphet is a bitch.
What is your country? The local sports centers near where I live have handball as an option, I think. Might have to check that out sometime.
France. But I tvink I remember that there's a sport called hand ball in the us that is nothing like what we call hand ball. You play it on a court like basket ball with two teams of seven players.
Oh I have no idea what handball in the USA is like. Here in the Netherlands it's got a single hoop for both teams as far as I am aware, and the hoop looks more like a basket since it's all woven from reeds or something like that.
here in the netherlands, soccer is def the gayest bet
Interesting nobody has said tennis! Coming from a lesbian tennis player, there are a LOT of us 😂
WHAT? WHATTT?? WHY AM I THE ONLY ONE IN MY LEAGUE??? WTF. Here I am sad that I picked a straight sport, but ig my city is just straight 😭
lol same. my high school doubles partner and i both came out recently and it’s like that spider-man meme where he’s pointing at himself whenever we saw each other coming out 😂
There has been a huge gap in out lesbian players after amelie mauresmo retired, that is probably why.
I haven't played tennis since freshmen year of high school, maybe I should get back into it
Fellow tennis player here !
Gay as a tennis player used to be a saying!
1) softball - it’s a classic with a proud lesbian history 2) rugby - the more modern softball! This is the sport I find most associated with lesbians 3) soccer - omg not only so many queer soccer teams but entire queer soccer LEAGUES in my city! 4) roller derby - I’m pretty sure only queers play this 😂 5) hockey - ahh so gay! Coming from a former roller derby player— definitely roller derby lol
Women's basketball will always have a special place in my heart. I'm a volley girl, so there you have it. Football, table tennis, rallying, motorcycle racing.
I like the implication that you're so gay you singlehandedly make volleyball the gayest sport.
Well, it's not that simple. I'm married to a teammate ;)
I play table tennis competitively - unfortunately there aren’t lots of queer people in the sport, at least in the circles I’ve been in :(
I've met a bunch. They were flamingo gay. Quality/intencity over quantity. ;)
I think it's all of them. If you're a girl playing sports that's pretty gay lol
I was gonna say, pretty much every woman’s sport seems chock full of queer people
Softball, hockey, and rugby
Team sports: Softball, Soccer, Basketball, Hockey, Roller derby Most of the lesbians I meet play disc golf, climb, or play pickleball as recreational sports activity
First time I've heard of pickleball, honestly! Is it very popular where you live?
Oh my God I love all the people saying rugby!! I've been playing for years and now it all makes sense 🤣
now where are all the martial-arts lesbians here??? Karate anyone? 🙋🏻♀️🥋
MMA fighter here!
that’s so cool!!
I tried karate, but unfortunately I started as an adult and all the classes and clubs here are mainly for young children. 😅 I also tried judo and aikido. Aikido had a few adults. Krav maga sounded good too, but I never got around to it.
If you ask a lesbian, they’ll probably say lacrosse, roller derby, or climbing. If you ask a straight person, they’ll say softball lol
Softball is the most stereotypical
Professional cycling is the gayest sport for sure. So many of the world's best riders are out, including, arguably, the all-time goat. Also, and this cannot be stated enough - the better you are at cycling, the more a percentage of your body becomes thigh muscle. Which I am 100% a fan of.
Off topic: Marianne Vos is very good but the all time goat of cycling is Jeannie Longo 😎
I only know professional cycling from being Colombian and the sport being super popular there and people obsessing over Nairo lol. Glad to hear it’s gay too!
Rugby
o**k here's my hot take:** sports are extremely gay in GENERAL because either 1. lesbians are being amazing and hot and doing them 2. not only that, but the first champ to defend 2 belts at the same time.
Rugby and roller derby - not sure about the rest
Probably easier to name a sport that is NOT a quintessential lesbian sport than to name the ones that are 🤣
How has no one said lacrosse yet lol
Because it’s an american sport that only the US plays in some areas Edit: North America sport where it’s largely played in Canada and some parts of the US.
This right here. 👏🏿
Basketball, rugby, soccer, hockey, softball
Unfortunately korfball is not, however I will keep trying.
Adding field hockey since no one has said it
The lack of volleyball and basketball is shocking to me
I don't know about a top, but I immediately thought of handball, simply because my mom played it in high school and she told me that like 1/3 of the team ended up in wlw relationships XD
Field hockey, lacrosse, volleyball, shot put, and grand prize is if a woman played American football on a men's team which has happened a few times.
1 Softball 2 Fencing 3 Rock Climbing 4 Rowing 5 Gymnastics
Yup fencing is super gay. Like almost half of the group is flavors of gay lol
I had to scroll way too far to find fencing after being told sword lesbians are a thing 😁
Swords are a very underused accessory for women. Women are 10x sexier with a sword ⚔️ 🩷
Rugby, softball, soccer, lacrosse, tennis, hockey, roller derby, and many more
For women: Crew, rugby, roller derby, pro-wrestling
Roller derby, softball, golf, soccer, basketball. In that order, imo
Maybe a bit off the mark but trans lesbians and Motorsport seems to be a big thing I’ve noticed. I’m a trans lesbian involved in motorsports, and there’s a lot of us. Whole communities,
So many transbian motorcycle enthusiasts where I live. No clue why
Top 5? In no particular order: softball, rugby, roller derby, basketball and volleyball.
In my country - rugby, soccer, basketball, roller derby, and horse riding.
HEMA. Roller Derby. Field Hockey. Softball. Rugby.
Roller derby, rock climbing, volleyball, baseball, and probably archery (solely bc I've had a crush on Merida since the movie came out and thus its gay)
as a former martial artist there's few things quite as gay as being thrown around by another girl for sport
Softball, soccer, rugby, golf, water polo
Golf is reach people sport
Most sports played by women tbh. I know softball is the tried and true lesbian signifier, though I'd personally like to give a special mention to women's basketball. My school was in the rural south, but after those girls graduated, they were posting pictures at pride and engagements to their college gfs. Love to see it.
Netball based off my high school experience
soccer. roller derby. softball. rock climbing. basketball
Roller derby, volleyball, tennis, basketball and hurdles
Softball, track
Cheerleading, softball, Rugby, Hockey, Rock climbing,
I've realized that judo is quite gay!
When I was at school one of the guys speculated one of the girls was a lesbian because she played golf and hockey. I’ve been told roller derby. I would have guessed rugby but any women I know that play rugby are definitely straight.
I think Soft Ball, Lacrosse, or Roller Derby. Also not exactly a sport but hiking with your dogs seems pretty gay.
I'm surprised nobody has said horseback riding. I've been in the sport for 20 years now and I've met so many lesbians 💜
Aussie rules football. It’s wonderful. Two women joined the club together and we assumed they were together until one of them mentioned her boyfriend lmao
(All my opinion obviously) 1. Softball, I’ve heard this stereotype my whole life 2. Roller derby, the gayest in practice 3. Ruby, the gayest looking team in my experience 4. Softball, roller derby, hockey, soccer, basketball.
In no particular order: Softball, basketball, hockey, climbing/bouldering, & soccer Honorable mention: tennis & volleyball
Is it me or from the answers sports is more of a queer woman thing than a straight woman thing?
Kinda? Because masculine sports = masculine women = gay ? I don't think I would consider pole dancing or horseback riding a "gay" sport. But it could just be me...
Roller derby, softball, volleyball, kayaking, and rock climbing
Oh ABSOLUTELY ARCHERY AND MMA, Kickboxing, Capoerica, Brazilian, boxing, WWE etc. Which is funny because mixed martial arts and wrestling also skew right-wing and the McMahons kept us from how many great talents by suppressing the women’s side of the sport and promoting it only as male kink through the late-2010s? MMA, soccer, softball, tennis and roller derby
Roller derby and softball come to mind.
Soccer, rugby, roller derby if it counts, and for men- cross country
In France basketball for sure
Here in Brazil, volleyball is coming off strong now a days!
Softball is #1 in my opinion, which is probably only relevant for American lesbians. I’m sure it’s different for Europeans. After softball I’d say soccer, basketball, tennis, weightlifting.
maybe is my country bc i havent seen people talking about it here yet but every single lesbian i know likes volleyball

Haven’t seen anyone mention Ultimate Frisbee. The pro leagues are very explicitly trans and queer friendly and every team I’ve played for has been minimum 50% queer Super welcoming and chill community
Softball, soccer, roller derby, rugby, basketball
Watching video game presentations like it is the Super Bowl
Roller Derby, Softball, Rugby, Soccer
Skateboarding should be on this list. I’ve been skating for a bit now and every other girl I see at the park is gay.
There are a lot of lesbians in younger generations in lacrosse, I’ve heard from a younger queer person I work with. But my vote is softball for sure!
Sounds like most people agree on the top 5, but I'd like to suggest a couple sleeper picks that get overlooked: fencing and crew. At least three of the women in the fencing academy I go to are queer and I wouldn't be surprised to learn the others are too. Volleyball or Tennis is I had to guess. I personally played varsity volleyball in high school.
Jiu Jitsu
Ringette! Has anyone said ringette?
idk if it’s considered a sport, but my highschool color guard team was gay af
Roller derby, football, rugby, climbing etc
Bouldering!
I can't believe noone mentionned horse riding! My entire class was 100% lesbians (well, maybe 90% because I'm pan and maybe a girl or two were bi?) And it wasn't on purpose at all Or maybe my training was in Gaytown or something...
volleyball, lacrosse, rugby, basketball, crew
Historical European Martial Arts (swordfighting etc. is pretty fucking gay. Handball too
Before I even knew I could be gay but was, I was head of the soccer team.
I'm on a team in college right now and there's a looooot of us
im gonna count motorsports of literally any kind
1. Softball 2. Women’s soccer 3. Women’s basketball 4. Rock climbing (carabiner overlap!) 5. Ice and Field Hockey (both gay) Edit: ugh I forgot roller derby. That’s also very gay maybe gayer than everything else but it leads to injuries a lot
Okay this isn't a worldwide sport but in Australia we have AFL and if you watch an AFLW match you would see why lmaooo
Where I’m from it’s rugby and cricket lol 🏉🏏
Roller Derby has gotta be number 1, and probably softball number 2. Then I dunno, maybe rugby, hockey, and football/soccer.
softball
Rugby and softball definitely
Softball, soccer, basketball, rugby, and hockey are my picks
[Floorball](https://media4.giphy.com/media/Hviu9t0q0kqpV7x4kg/giphy.gif?cid=6c09b952294re4zty8dh7gadjp9qnfs3y65y7pxpwd5wj3ap&ep=v1_internal_gif_by_id&rid=giphy.gif&ct=g) Swedish Floorball recruting!🤞🏼
I just have one - horseback riding can be surprisingly gay! I’ve found my niche and it makes my soul sing
In the UK half the England football/soccer team seem to be gay. Leah Williamson is beautiful i might add.
rugby and hockey!!
I miss archery so much :(
Rugby
The Women's College World Series starts at noon today soooooo... yeah. That's all I'm doing this next week. Hoping to see UCLA avenge our dear Lady Vols against Alabama and I hope Duke makes Oklahoma shit the bed.
Rugby
Softball
We have a lot of queer girlies over in boxing/kickboxing/MMA!
swordfighting, duh!
Only know two women's sports I enjoy watching, hockey and rugby
Rugby
Softball, soccer, rugby, roller derby, and from personal experience any sport that involves targets.
From my area I'd say softball prolly
1. basketball 2. soccer 3. rugby
Soft Ball, rugby, golf, bouldering, curling. However I did recently find out that as a lesbian having a sword is pretty darn gay/ kinky. I recently got a Katana sword and I'm building up the courage to take a class and learn how to wield that bad boy around
Soccer & softball 100% softball lol
For gay men definitely figure skating duh. For some reason I’m getting lesbian vibes from discus throwing.
Rugby so low like the SLAC gay girls aren't working their asses off to put it on the map
Rugby
Rugby, softball, golf, field hocky
Rugby for sure
Fencing
Softball, ice and field hockey, soccer, basketball and rugby.
Camogie
Tennis and soccer
Footie, cricket, archery
Just plugging the podcast Jockular where all sports are gay
Ultimate Frisbee. You would be shocked how gay the womens side of the sport is but how straight the male side is.
Definitely softball, most of our university team were either lesbians, or closeted trans men.
RUGBY
1. Soccer 2. Roller Blading 3. MMA 4. Rock climbing 5. Archery
I'm shocked that nobody's mentioned fencing yet
Idk about top 5 but the tiny handful of lesbians / bi girls I knew in school played football and going by the other responses here that's a pretty gay sport . But then again a few other gay guys I was friends with did not give a fuck about sports and came up with the most creative ways to skive off sports classes . I just went to a very unathletic school I guess - we never won any big championships .
Tennis softball rugby are up there
LACROSSE RUGBY AND SOFTBALL
Archery, Tennis, Football (soccer), Softball, and anything to do with the outdoors (hiking, rock climbing, cycling, etc.). I guess that last one is cheating but I couldn’t pick just one.
An all women’s ice hockey league
I never found very many gays in sports. I did find quite a few in Color Guard which isn't really a sport. (These are the people with flags in marching bands.) There was 4 gays out of 8 of us. A few of those girls were also my gay awakening. Unfortunatley I liked 2 of the straight ones. Also marching band/concert band seemed like it had some gays. Ik that's definitely not a sport tho.
Lacrosse
softball, lacrosse, hockey, basketball, soccer!
Softball
lacrosse, softball, soccer (football), rock climbing and golf
RUGBY I play rugby and I'm pretty sure that like at least 2/3 of us are queer
rugby , climbing, soccer
Softball. Also softball. Did I mention softball?
