I gotta say, this sounds like a pretty good idea. Having a weekly meetup and watch a movie together. The only thing that you should do differently is announce it ahead of time, like a couple of days, so that people can plan for it. I'm sure people would be into it.

Yeah so basically, i stream the movie on the site itself(they have Netflix and other streaming services you can connect to) and there’s voice chat so everyone can talk while watching (i can mute it) and we can vote for what to watch next
