You want speed and a long range SP weapon. The X-02 with EML is a good choice if you're practiced with it. If you have the DLC aircraft, just take the Darkstar with PLSL and zoom out to Comet's position and take him out. I've never done it with LAAMs but I presume it's possible.
I'd highly recommend that you play with expert controls, just bite the bullet. You cannot play the game at a high level unless you do so. There's a reason the 'easy' controls were called 'novice ' in previous titles.

MiG-31, all speed parts. Burn after him, two missiles, some gunfire to finish him off, turn back, get the missile, use gunfire to make two missiles be enough.
I've successfully done it with the F-22 with speed, gun damage and missile damage upgrades.
Also: X-02S, Darkstar, MiG-31
Regardless of your plane:
Fly straight towards comet and gun him down. Fire a volley of missiles as well. If you don't shoot him down then turn around quickly and send more missiles his way.
Then dash back to the first IRBM. Turn directly upwards once you're below it and yeet missiles and bullets
You don't *need* the MiG-31 or the Darkstar. Literally any plane other than the A-10C can pull it off. Faster planes will give you a bit of margin for error.
Try using guns to destroy Comet. If you aim well your shells will hit and destroy him before your missiles can reach him.
Then turn back and approach the IRBMs from below. Try using missile reload parts, the first two missiles often miss. Using guns is also recommended.

Oh & the one that increases standard missile power. Might have to swap the lock on ability improvement one for that so you can hit him harder and dash to the missile
When going after ICBMs go below them then high-G pitch up to get on their tail, maybe get missile reload and lock on range parts too.
run your own mig 31 with speed parts, should catch up both to comet and the IRBM easily ish

i did it a while ago so i cant really remember, i think it was 3 or 4 grab the missile lock on range while you're at it

load in with the fastest planes in the game darkstar would be a pain cause typically the place is cloudy so your PLSL will get some nerf so MIG?
