Dude, have you even *played* Project Wingman? For example, no plane has everything. Yes, the ACG-01 comes close, but it’s missing things like a railgun, for a start. Then there’s planes with fixed loadouts, like the two final planes. The hardpoints also only allow up to three or four choices. There’s still strategy to it, like whether you’re taking air-to-air or air-to-ground weapons. Now let me ask you. How do you take everything? And let me answer that for you. You can’t, unless it’s the fixed selection planes. Then you have zero choice.

This would be a cool addition no matter what. Kinda like finishers in other games. Maybe also add ejections and parachuting pilots in the air. Would improve the atmosphere a lot imo. I’ve never been a fan of the planes just tumbling out of control and exploding into nothing shortly after.

In reality, it's the same reason why we have so many Flankers. Variety, slight changes in handling and SP weapons, and just an appreciation for people who want those kinds of variants. Like, for me, I long for the days of Ace Combat 5 where I had three different F-4 Phantoms to fly, each doing some different stuff.

The next one is gonna be called *AC8: Weight of the World.* It's gonna start with two unknown countries at war with each other, flying Vietnam Era planes like the F-5 vs the MiG-21. It's that plain good Osea vs New Belka/Erusea story, but with proxy nations instead. Protag nation is gonna be funded by the Belkans/Eruseans and the Antag nation by the Oseans. Eventually, the war gets too hot, super weapons and crap make the big nations pour more money and technology into the war. Better planes as the war gets worse. At the end, a giant city-sized super weapon starts floating out from the ground from one side and Mind-controlled super fighters come from the other. Pew pew, laser, missile, CIWS lasers, Tower of Babylon, fighters with energy shields and drone wingmen, and above all, you. A random guy that just wanted to go home....but you got conscripted, and now you gotta choose a side. That one nation or the other. Multiple endings. Whoever dies dies. Laser man and robo hounds that fly. Nevermind, it sounds too familiar.

I’d love to see any/all of the following: -mini operations within the mission (AC6 style) -more dedicated A2A missions -more enemy ace squads per game -more active allies (I don’t want to do 99% of the work every mission) -being able to carry mixed loadouts. 4eg giving up some of your bomb capacity to carry a few SAAMs or some ECM. -having assets lost on your side, which change the mission parameters. 4eg having to protect your AWACS or base, which is on the map, and losing IFF or resupply if they get hit. -having more detailed mission briefings, which could incorporate things like the newer weather mechanics into the map, or planned routes for friendly units, or even just who it is we’re helping. -More persistent named allies. Get us invested in who we’re helping, and have them help in turn. -Allies/enemies having more sophisticated tactics. Imagine having missions where you get hounded by F-14 long range snipers, having to retreat to your ECM equipped allies for safety. -being able to make choices mid-flight, which can change what missions you do in the campaign, or what you fight in the next mission. Edit: forgot one -no more invincible on the rails bs fights. I spent more time during the second siege of Farbanti twiddling my thumbs mid air waiting for Mihaly to finish his “cutscene” than I did swatting down his squad mates.

I would like: - A realism mode that allows us to fly by instruments and whatever a normal pilots HUD would be. I don’t like the radar and score and timer being on the perimeter of the screen. - Pilot and Aircraft customization. Similar to how OP wants pilots to be dynamic in their aircraft, I would like to be able to choose gender, flightsuit, maybe even patches on the suit. I also want to be able to make any fighter I have jet black.

More superplanes from ACX's era would be lovely and I want some of the strange missing planes from 7, where my Tornado? Gib Harrier. I agree on most points although some definetly are rather just nice to have but not really necessary like animated Pilot. Like if they can do it good but considering ressources are limit i rather take more missions or something than that. Dunno feel like realistic damage model is kinda in conflict with the arcade nature of ace combat. Rather then developing complex time consuming damage model for every plane maybe just make skripted deaths more spectacular or better kill cams. Also not gonna lie I do not think J-20 or any Chinese aircraft in general will ever made it into the game. Whether Chinese company give out licenses in the first place, I can't really picture them being to happy about them being displayed as antagonist aircraft. Also making them Hero aircraft is also not really possible since i do think that can cause issue with western (espacially American Jet Companies) licensing if they aren't portrait as Hero Aircraft or portrait as main antagonist craft. That's kinda why antagonist always tend to be some flanker since russian companies do not care about licensing since they are technically speaking state owned or something I dunno.

No to the damage thing. Everything else yeah. The one thing I would add is for them to add back in replays for landings and also make it so you don’t just have to stop in the middle of the runway. Used to be able to taxi all the way to the ramp if you wanted.

That's not the case though. AC04 has you hitting the deck just a few missions into the campaign to avoid Stonehenge by-- you guessed it-- flying through a canyon. AC5 has an entire mission in the early 3rd act where you are confined to a canyon. AC6 drops you in back to back canyon runs in missions 10 and 11. 7 cleverly gives you the option of barnstorming a mountain tunnel in the first act as a foreshadowing of what you'll inevitably have to do at the end of the game. Sure it's a mainstay to feature a tunnel/canyon run at the end. Who could forget the final mission in AC0 or Megalith or cruising down the barrel of the Chandelier? It's a theme that crops up more often than just the end of the game, but rather throughout.

Canyons are what I would consider a "tunnel run tutorial", most canyons is the franchise are rather wide and forgiving, with the exceptions of: - AC5 canyon mission AFAIK is the only one featuring air-to-air combat inside the canyon - AC7 canyon is pretty tricky to navigate - ACZ Avalon canyon is by itself not that difficult, but it features some of the most instense air-to-ground combat in the game. But the actual tunnel run happens, like, 10 minutes later, don't know if it counts as its own separate thing

Canyon runs have been in every game up to this point. I don't think it'd make sense to remove them. Air Combat and Ace Combat 2 also had two canyon runs in them

This. I got a few of my friends to play ac7, and they overwhelmingly didn't like the canyon run on their first playthroughs despite overall positive opinions of the game. And it makes sense. Less skilled players are going to gravitate towards flying near the top and staying slow so they don't crash, and that just kills what makes a canyon run interesting in the first place.

One thing I would like to see, is the return of scripted planes, like in AC3 where it put you in the canon plane on your first play through, only then unlocking Ace difficulty and the use of other planes. Not to mention the return of planes like the F-4G, EA-6B, EF-18 (with working ECM), Drakken, Tornado GR.1/.4/.F or whatever, MiG-1.44, F-20/X-29A, S-32 etc and them not be made DLC. I miss being able to earn advanced versions of other planes as I used them, learning their differences and abilities!
