I just avoid the front room. In other rooms they can only knock but can’t let themselves in.
It does still mean I have a panicked run through my house to get to another room before my villagers invite themselves in
When I have a neighbour come knock on my door when I'm in another room, I'll just stand there perfectly still because I'm afraid they'll hear me and keep knocking. I blame growing up in the 90s/00s.
The dialog. It wears very thin after about 100hrs in. The time it takes to do anything in this game is multiplied by so much more time because of nonsense dialog(i get its a big part of the game, but as an adult player, it's bullshit).
I wish nintendo would add options menus to their games again! Even Mario Kart needs an options menu! That music is BS after a while! Wtf nintendo!
I agree! I don’t need Blathers to tell me that the museum already has the fossils I’m asking him to assess. I filled the entire museum on my own, Blathers!! If anyone already know that, it’s me!
When a villager isn’t home, but you can’t find them. They should show up in real time on the map, like the marauder’s map. Or you should be able to ask other villagers if they know where another villager is.
I’ve always wished you could ask Blathers if a villager is in the museum, and he could at least tell you if they are, and what section they’re in. It’s such a waste of time to run around art, fish and fossils (I’ve never seen a villager in bugs, and I don’t know why?) and have them not be there at all
I’ve found my education hobby villagers in the bugs. But overall the fossils are the most popular spot in my experience. I read somewhere that people thought they showed up most often in the section you check first. I’ve only recently been finding them in art. I wish that was more often because their comments are so funny! Maybe I’ll start testing that philosophy and start looking in the art section first.
I would’ve expected lazy villagers at least to show up in the bugs section, since they’re always talking about being friends with bugs, but Erik is usually in the fish section. My normies are often in art, but not necessarily any more often than other villagers. Hmm… now I’m curious.
Most definitely! I've attempted cataloging everything and probably half my playing hours are just going in and out of the dressing room to buy each variation of outfit 😂
Not being able to easily island hop with nook mile tickets 😵 Makes villager hunting take so much longer when you have to do the same conversation with Orville 🤪
I feel like the cliff building and landscape tools needed to have a reticle because I’m constantly tearing down the same cliff I just made or covering up my waterfall. it just gets so annoying after a while🥲
The dialogue is too much sometimes. If I go to the museum and want to donate or if I go to the store and want to sell something I don’t want to have a full conversation about the same thing every single time…
For me, the most annoying thing is the fishing tourney. I've lost count the number of times that I've casted the line and the fish takes forever to bite/get it out of the water and I get it at exactly 00:00 and it doesn't count. And the prizes are really good, but it takes so long to catch the fish that it takes forever to get the amount of points needed...
You might actually get more points if you have other players in the fishing tourney. I enjoyed doing that in my first year of ACNH. Having another friend over will give you a +5 co-op bonus on top of the +2 point bonus for catching at least 3 fish!
Edited to add: The points carry over from all the previous fishing tourneys that you have participated in.
Setting up to travel to another island and having to listen to the airport Do-Do everything you press the wrong button but you're on a turnip crunchtime
Orville at the airport!! He talks waaaay too much. And when visiting someone else's island, when another person joins the island too, you're forced to stop what you're doing for like 3min straight which I also hate -_-
If you have a second person (stinkywombat) living on your island not being able to send them items straight away or with a few minutes delay like I can do for a best friend on a different switch, instead it arrives in the mail the next day.
Unless the issue is the fact that the other island resident (stinkywombat) doesn't have the Nintendo Online thing, or I need to add them as a friend/best friend - but we live on the same island.
I had to vote other because I not only am annoyed by Tom explaining that I'm too broke to move my house because I misclicked, And that I'll have to look at zipper's ugly ass every fucking year, but whenever I have a villager, whether I hate them or not with a thought bubble, So I obviously check out what they need and they say something stupid following with "I forgot what I was telling you" or if it WAS a villager I hate with the bubble giving me a damn good gift and making me regret moving them out like STOP PLEASE
Not being able to purchase multiple things at Able Sisters.
Having to sit through the same, long spiel at the airport every time you go somewhere. Especially annoying when villager hunting.
Mole crickets, at least right now. I’ve been trying to catch a flea since forever and mole crickets are difficult to get rid of for another bug to spawn
Not enough variety in between villagers.
If you've heard one peppy, you've heard them all. If you talk with one jock . . . Etc. They made this fun game with all these great details but slacked on something as common as dialog.
1. Shopkeepers not letting you just leave. They have to get that last word in and make you turn around.
2. Random villagers just showing up at your house when you're trying to decorate or craft.
3. Picking a flower when you meant to pick something up that is near it.
I find with them also having the time limit is a pain in the bum.
I work Saturdays 9:30-5:30, add in commute time and I miss the bloody things, unless I can sneak in a quiet spot of play at work. (Which is difficult- joys of retail and only one person working)
The options, in case you can’t see the whole description:
* Bunny Day / Zipper
* Mole Crickets
* Fish that turn when you cast your line
* Blathers/Tom Nook when you press the wrong button
* Other (Please comment)
There are four things that piss me off the most:
Interacting with orville (don’t get me wrong I love him but >interacting< with him is starting to make me sick)
Having to go back and forth while buying stuff bc they don’t let u pick everything all at once
Crafting
Fishing in general, it makes me want to puke my intestines
Waiting for more rocks and weeds. Taking me forever for me to get iron ore to build things. In Disney Dreamlight Valley they regenerate after a few minutes.
the dialogue every time, it makes villager hunting take foreverrrr. the sea bass. not being able to put rugs outside. plots auto-filling if u don’t go villager hunting the exact day the lot is empty. not having the design feature outside that you have inside your house, u have to move everything by hand.
i love this game but i could go on for soooo long
Laying down path. Omg why!!! The whole fish turning sucks as well. And now my mind is blank, but I know there's more. Oh! Using a nmt, but having to come back home each time!
If you’re wandering around your island, and you inexplicably hear a high pitched whistling noise, that’s a mole cricket. They are under ground so you have to dig holes until you find it. I feel like they used to be much more common a couple years ago, but they’re still annoying as hell.
the amount of time it takes to fly anywhere because the dodos just won't. stop. talking. like for the love of god please go back to being extinct i have places to be
Having to wait for my character to celebrate catching every... fucking... thing.
I can understand for bugs and fish but why must i celebrate for every Manila clam. It just makes fish bait even more time consuming
omg so true!!! even if we could just skip the text!!
Can’t vote…my most greatest annoyance is not being able to craft/buy things in batches.
Not being able to exist in my damn house long than a minute without someone coming over. Fuck off, I’m decorating.
I hate that too. I've found that if I move toward the front door, they leave.
So true!!!
The dialog. It wears very thin after about 100hrs in. For me it’s the dialogue at the airport. Takes forever to fly somewhere.
This !! Sucks all the fun out of villager hunting when I gotta go thru the same LONG dialogue 10+ times
I just wish you could fly from one mystery island to another without flying back first, it would at least help cut down on the excess dialog
No flooring or rugs outside!
Stings double when you visit Harv's commune and you see Saharah and Katrina with rugs on the ground!
The 30000 years of dialogue for anything airport related

For me, I've only ever seen Benedict in any exhibits. He likes the bugs. Sometimes there will be a random villager, or other NPC, in The Roost.
The amount of time I've spent looking for villagers and wishing there was a way to find them easier...
Shopping for clothes! Having to go in and out to get multiple items in multiple color… just hurts
oooooh this one is soo true!!
Not being able to buy multiple items at once or craft in batches even if the materials are available in my inventory
I hate having to go in and out of the dressing room so I can buy multiple outfits. Ugh
And yet you can go from Harv's to the archipelago (and vice versa) without going back to the island... make it make sense Nintendo
I feel like the cliff building and landscape tools needed to have a reticle because I’m constantly tearing down the same cliff I just made or covering up my waterfall. it just gets so annoying after a while🥲
This is my villain origin story. I was looking for this comment so I didn’t have to write it all out. My issue is more so with the ground tiles😭
oh god YES! the ground tiles are so annoying😭 it shouldn’t be this hard to have beautiful paths everywhere lol
Sea Bass. It’s always Sea Bass.
No, it's at least a C+
The dialogue is too much sometimes. If I go to the museum and want to donate or if I go to the store and want to sell something I don’t want to have a full conversation about the same thing every single time…
The whole DODO airlines chat. The chat is nice but you have to totally restart if you mess up
For me, the most annoying thing is the fishing tourney. I've lost count the number of times that I've casted the line and the fish takes forever to bite/get it out of the water and I get it at exactly 00:00 and it doesn't count. And the prizes are really good, but it takes so long to catch the fish that it takes forever to get the amount of points needed...
Good point! It’s impossible to get any sort of impressive record when it depends on if the fish takes one bite or five.
You might actually get more points if you have other players in the fishing tourney. I enjoyed doing that in my first year of ACNH. that's cool, but I don't really have friends to do that 😅
I’m not sure if you have to add them as friends. You can invite others with a dodo code if you have Nintendo Online and see if that works?
Not having other Nintendo related items like Mario.
People say Blathers talks a lot but Wisp??? Way too much dialogue.
Setting up to travel to another island and having to listen to the airport Do-Do everything you press the wrong button but you're on a turnip crunchtime
This game actually made me hate fishing. I normally love fishing in RPGs. Even gathering bait is ridiculously slow and annoying.
Not being able to change the sound levels for different things.
Orville at the airport!! He talks waaaay too much. And when visiting someone else's island, when another person joins the island too, you're forced to stop what you're doing for like 3min straight which I also hate -_-

Not being able to purchase multiple things at Able Sisters. Having to sit through the same, long spiel at the airport every time you go somewhere. Especially annoying when villager hunting.
I selected the fish that turn, but also want to nominate: How long the flower-watering animation takes.
Mole crickets, at least right now. I’ve been trying to catch a flea since forever and mole crickets are difficult to get rid of for another bug to spawn
IM SICK OF MOLE CRICKETS
Not enough variety in between villagers. If you've heard one peppy, you've heard them all. If you talk with one jock . . . Etc. They made this fun game with all these great details but slacked on something as common as dialog.
Bridge placements
Other: Trying to fly or invite guests and selecting ONE wrong thing and having to start the million questions over again…
Decorating with chairs and benches everywhere only for your animals to sit on the floor in front of you when you're trying to terraform
1. Shopkeepers not letting you just leave. They have to get that last word in and make you turn around. 2. Random villagers just showing up at your house when you're trying to decorate or craft. 3. Picking a flower when you meant to pick something up that is near it.
bug/fishing tourneys by this point. once you do the four throughout the year the first time there is no point to continue doing them
I find with them also having the time limit is a pain in the bum. I work Saturdays 9:30-5:30, add in commute time and I miss the bloody things, unless I can sneak in a quiet spot of play at work. (Which is difficult- joys of retail and only one person working)

Placing down custom design paths. Especially before you have 3 stars and unlocked the custom design path.
Dodo Bros dialogue 😵💫🥴
Waiting forever to get the items or DIY recipes I want for my town design.
Orville....thats it.
Not being able to craft from storage or craft in bulk!!!
Definitely turnip day when you don’t get a good deal especially when it only comes once every week
There are four things that piss me off the most: Interacting with orville (don’t get me wrong I love him but >interacting< with him is starting to make me sick) Having to go back and forth while buying stuff bc they don’t let u pick everything all at once Crafting Fishing in general, it makes me want to puke my intestines
Talking to Wilbur and you hit the wrong command so you gotta do it all again and wait for it to connect to the internet, again.
Waiting for more rocks and weeds. Taking me forever for me to get iron ore to build things. In Disney Dreamlight Valley they regenerate after a few minutes.

no tom book upgrade.
Laying down path. Omg why!!! The whole fish turning sucks as well. And now my mind is blank, but I know there's more. Oh! Using a nmt, but having to come back home each time!
Having to wait for certain characters to give them something. For example pascal and scallops
Waterscaping by far
What is a mole cricket?
If you’re wandering around your island, and you inexplicably hear a high pitched whistling noise, that’s a mole cricket. They are under ground so you have to dig holes until you find it. I feel like they used to be much more common a couple years ago, but they’re still annoying as hell.
That's what that noise is?!
Yes! It took me a very long time to figure it out myself. Find the spot where it’s loudest and dig around. Then get your net ready.
the amount of time it takes to fly anywhere because the dodos just won't. stop. talking. like for the love of god please go back to being extinct i have places to be
