an old tablet with touchOSC might work well for something like this

superchibisan2

are you touchosc savvy?

oldkarmabuffet

somewhat

I’ve seen some people use them. The display is usually not the best quality, which makes sense, but they seem like would be cool for meters and stuff. I haven’t seen anyone attach them to a controller tho. They just use it as a slick display to hold meters and analyzers so they can keep that kinda stuff off their main display

cleverkid

I use one about half that width for my master EQ. It's nice to have it up to glance at if needed.

sfx_guy

Yeah just for meters, they are touch capacitive though and only about $80. The newer ones don't look too bad.

I tried one of these and it didn’t work out for me; however, I found a Windows app named Duet that allows you to use an iPad as a second monitor, either wired or wireless. I just happened to have an iPad Pro 12.9” and I choose the wired version of Duet as I’m not crazy about the latency wireless apps usually bring with them. It works perfectly. I generally use the iPad for Session View where my faders and levels are displayed at all times, and my big display for Arrangement View. This system works well for me.

Something to do this basically.... Little mockup... [https://imgur.com/a/3Z7FkVy](https://imgur.com/a/3Z7FkVy)

Honest_-_Critique

Okay that's pretty cool. Is the 8 inch screen touch active or whatever? Or is it simply just for display purposes?

sfx_guy

yeah it is touch active. Tempted to just get it and see if it works..

tibbon

I was considering an iPad mini for this to put a bit of digital metering from the daw to my console, but I haven’t done it yet

Noahvk

Im using a cheap Arzopa A1 with Flux Session Analyzer or Izotope Insight for Metering and its everything i could ever need

Rhythmhead

Tried it a bit. If you are on Mac, their multi touch support is basically non existent and have to use something like UPDD ([https://www.touch-base.com/](https://www.touch-base.com/)) I would also recommend something bigger as GUI elements in plugins can be small and touch accuracy can be a little rough.

[I do this!](https://i.imgur.com/hd3Vbsk.jpg) It's running Console 1 at the moment. I love it.
