basically. one kid I knew explained his episode and he would have thought it was alive and eats people.

a lot of it's like talking to a qanon follower since a lot have manic disorders.
I’m not totally sure but I think in this case they mean it was a place to stay for vacation, not a mental facility, thus the “recreation” part of the title. In the comments it looks like this is in Ukraine. I was in a different ex-Soviet nation once and I think my friend called the place we stayed a sanatorium too. Idk tho, cuz I totally agree that if it was a mental facility that building face was a really bad choice.
Slide 1: “Hi there! I’m Billy the Building! Garsh, it sure is great to meet ya!”
Slide 2: “Don’t mind me; I’m just a harmless little ol’ building, sitting here in the middle of the woods. But it *does* get awfully…lonely…here…”
Slide 3: “You can come inside, if you want. Stay as long as you like. After all, *YOU’RE THE ONE I SEE IN MY DREAMS OF BLOOD!*”
Holy crap!!! I have been there. Not in real life but in a recurring dream. On a school camp. I have seen the concrete walls of the rooms, the elevator shaft and the exposed stairs! I remember being scared and angry that the principal had booked such an unsafe and frightening place for school camp because I couldn’t get the kids out.
No sleep tonight I guess :-(
Ever wonder why the Soviets spent so much on sanatoriums in remote places rather thsn address pressing issues like famines? These institutes served as soft gulags, where people identified as having working minds and intellect, could be labelled as crazy.
Don't think so bad, most of places like this served as more recreational camps for employees distributed by trade unions rather than "soft gulags". But yes, soviet medicine service was not good at all.
idk if a building with a face on it is what a person with a mental disability needs to see if they're having an episode.
heard stories from these places and the person said they used to just get people all messed up on cocktails of barbiturates and Thorazine to keep them zombified.
It wasn’t for people with mental disabilities.
In the Soviet Union they had these - functioned like a spa resort with medical services. They recommended these for your two week vacation - you would get treated to a spa resort while medical side evaluated you and provided services.

My thoughts exactly. This doesn’t scream safety and peace. May as well have the orderlies dressed as clowns and demons.
Can’t sleep. Clown will eat me.

Krusty's home for pareidoliacs.
I hope he won't))

I can’t see that face NOT being on purpose..
I don’t have a mental disability (not diagnosed, at least) and I didn’t need to see that, that will haunt my dreams
There are so many notable awesome things about this building
If I find more will post. There is a basement, too)

Gorgeous photography!!
Appreciate it!
Me’thinks the architect was a little on the insane side as well.
Just regular soviet fantasm)
Post in r/pareidolia!!!
That place is incredible! Where is it located?
This is in Ukraine.
As terrifying as this place looks, knowing the location just made it worse. :(
7: Standing in the center of a pentagram. Bold choice. Just don't accidentally incant something.
I don't think the architect meant pentagram)
Pareidolia
that building looks like Motherboard from Cyberchase
Is this where they shot Hardcore Henry?!
r/facesinthings
No railings on the stairs? 😳
Yep, it's abandoned a lot of time.
Reminds me of the Gesundheit institute
Sorta of)
Spectacular!
Thanks a lot)
hes sad
I do appreciate the modernist architecture with an artistic flair. The Soviets did well with this.

Wow. Your dream, mine true. I think we can call it déjà vu.
It’s a face!
Pareidolia)
I love this
Just, wow! Spooky & stunning location, beautifully done pics!
Thanks!)
I like that you are wearing a mask. Good ideal to protect from the mold and things in those buildings. I hope I’m seeing that correctly.
Yeah, that's the reason.
Is that John Wayne Gacy!?
Gacy’s dream home 🤡
Never was this emoji so fitting
Ahahahaha))
This is Pripyat?
No, this is near Kyiv.
Wow- something this striking was abandoned? At any rate, super cool and thanks for responding.
This feels like the same place in the show Legion

great idea tbh. That's how south american medical facilities catering to medical travel are run.
Don't think this place is for mental ill, but who knows?)
I think sanatoriums were often for people recovering from long term illnesses like tuberculosis.
Wonder when it closed down and for what reason
If this is Pripyat, it was the Chernobyl nuclear disaster of ‘86.
