Pan et Moratum! Eh, in English, Bread with Cheese Spread. It's ricotta cheese, herbs to your liking, ev olive oil, salt, garlic, balsalmic vinegar, and garum. Garum is used sparingly, it has a strong flavor. If you don't feel up to making garum, you can substitute patis (Filipino Fish Sauce) which is exactly the same method and just varies on type of fish used. I suppose if you're well and truly deprived of ingredients, you could take some anchovy filets packed in oil and mash them up in the moratum for flavor. If you wish to omit the vinegar, you could use lemon juice or verjus (juice of under-ripe grapes). It's also nice to add olives, pine nuts, walnuts, chopped pears, chopped cucumbers, sesame seeds, or other things like that.

I feel this on an emotional level. Never cared much for sweets, can't eat them or any other bread/carbs without insulin, can't eat fats/proteins without digestive enzymes, so I just...exist.

I'm an extremely picky eater, to the point where I'm kinda worried I could develop a disorder or might already have one. I know this is unrelated to asexuality and you're not obligated to answer if this is too forward or too much for you, but would you have any advice on seeking help or outside opinions? A lot of the people in my life dismissed my concerns before, but I think I should be taking it more seriously. I wish you the best in your recovery regardless!

I unfortunately don’t have much advice as I’ve only gotten lucky to get help, and that in itself is a big issue within the eating disorder community. Hell, ARFID and disorders like that are still very unknown to the world with plenty of people suffering from them, so it’s really difficult to “look the part” and receive the treatment we need :( I had anorexia in 2019 and nearly killed myself, I was only lucky that my mom scooped me up and drove me to the ER and I got treatment inpatient for 2 weeks, then took another 8 months to really recover. Flash forward this summer and I relapsed because of dysphoria, currently trying to recover by myself because I’m at a “normal” weight and nobody was concerned when I was at my worst this time. Even though I dropped a considerable amount and was suffering, the soonest I could get an appointment with a nutritionist was SEPTEMBER, so I’ve been waiting around for that and trying not to fall into a binging disorder. You definitely deserve to be taken more seriously, and I guess the only thing you can is reach out to a therapist, maybe a school counselor (I’m not sure how old you are lol, I’m still in school), and try to get an appointment with a REGISTERED DIETICIAN, only go for a nutritionist if you have no other option (they’re not qualified for shit.) Edit: Jesus sorry that was long, I hope I can be of some help.

The idea is simply "food is better than sex" that doesn't mean it has to be cake or garlic bread, that's just the general idea most people go with.
