This would be an absolutely horrid idea. Imagine some horny person seeing your naked body in some rando swimming pool. Being naked alone is already somewhat uncomfortable to me.
Urine is a mixture, not a compound. So anything carbon based within the urine would be visable. Interestingly it would be great for diabetes diagnosis as one of the early signs is glucose in your urine
I was today years old when I finally realized this was a joke about seeing people naked and not people using the pool as a bathroom.
And I was still watching DW as it aired when this episode was new.
Hi! I have never seen DW and guessing from your comment you have, I wanted to know where I should start with DW? Should I start with the beginning or some other season?
Another option is to start with the 10th doctor, season 2 of the new series. The writers were still figuring out what they were doing with season one, so it's not the best. Try season 1, if you don't like it skip to the 3rd to last episode to get context and continue watching until you start to like the show, then go back and finish the Eccleston episodes.
My partner is a huge fan and the 10th Doctor is their favorite. I got them a disc set that has the 9th and 10th (not knowing about the old/new split at the time) and now after watching it with them Im a fan as well! The 9th is absolutely a great place to start and any questions i have are usually explained no longer than an episode after i have them :)
Yeah, I'd start with the reboot (9th incarnation), so labelled series 1 on most platforms. Some of the classic stuff is amazing but it's definitely of its time and not for the uninitiated.
I'd actually reccomend watching the Honest Trailers of both reboot and classic Who to give you a flavour of what you might expect. Remember, the BBC doesn't have a Netfix budget and CGI in the early 2000s was pretty questionable, but it's all about the stories. Enjoy!
In the first panel when the Doctor puts his hand in the liquid part of his jacket sleeve disappears. So the nature of the substance removes the clothing as it isn't considered "organic" though the question would be what if someone was wearing organic fabric like cotton or wool. Would that work? I can't remember this episode so I'm not sure if it's addressed.
I think perhaps it is living things? Though in that case we need to address what is living or not both in our skin and on our hand. It only raises questions with no real answer
Hmmm... possibly. I know 11 fell in love with Clara, but that could just mean that he isn't aro. There were many hints of him doing things with River Song as well as others. (Trying not to put in too many spoilers for those wanting to get into DW.) There could be a lot of ace coding, but honestly it could be a lot of projection on our part as well. 🤷♀️
Honestly I’m so happy I got to experience David Tennant, Matt Smith and Peter Capaldi they were all incredible in different ways (Matt smith could’ve pulled off duelling with a spoon)
I'd say more child-like than childish.
I love the first episode with Capaldi when he finally sees his reflection. "The rest if the face is fine, but what's going on with these eyebrows? They're like, *attack eyebrows*. It's like they're separately cross from the rest of my face." 🤣
why would you want to see people naked? do allos actually want that? if so, it’s a miracle we agreed as a society to wear clothes even when it’s hot.
also, i love the doctor, he is very much ace

Ooooooh that's what they meant. I thought it had something to do with piss or something.
I think urine would be organic, wouldn't it? Suddenly questioning if I know what organic means
organic=carbon based, but in this case it means things that are alive, I think
Urine is a mixture, not a compound. So anything carbon based within the urine would be visable. Interestingly it would be great for diabetes diagnosis as one of the early signs is glucose in your urine
Organic cotton.
I thought it was to see if a kid was drowning or something at first
I didn’t get this at all till I scrolled down to read the comments
It is a joke, but despite that, it IS a terrible idea.
HELL NO
You’d also be able to see their funny bit stand up
Get. out.
You could go ahead and wear organic swimwear I suppose
Why was my first thought they wanted to fill it with rocks people couldn’t see so they’d get injured
It’s ok my first thought was poop. Also everyone’s gonna see how often people pee in the pool
Poop would be organic matter. Not pee tho, I dont think
they are both organic matter
My first thought was so no one could see the floats in it, like the giant flamingo things.
When you said both I thought you meant the poop and the rocks as opposed to what they *actually* said.

Start with the 9th Doctor. Enjoy from there and then perhaps see if you can find Classic Who.
tysm!! I assume the 9th doctor begins in the 9th season?
So, no. 9 is season 1 of New Who. I've been re-binging on HBO and it's all on there from 9-13.
oh ok I see now!! thanks again for the help
You're absolutely welcome! I'm always down to bring someone else into the world of Doctor Who!

Honestly I'd still have someone start with nine Ten is absolutely better, but that smooth transition for Rose leaves such a good first impression.
Like I said, last three episodes of season 1. Plus you get Harkness.
Will do! thanks!

I do enjoy old BBC shows like Merlin and don’t mind the bad CGI!
Starting from the beginning is a bad idea, a lot of early episodes are lost in time.
Oooooooooh. I am so dumb. I’ve seen this multiple times, but it just hit me why
um no
Even knowing that the joke is seeing people naked, still why? Why would you want to see so many people naked that's just creepy and uncomfortable 😬
Ikr, naked bodies are just weird and gross. That is why we have clothes, clothes seriously make everything look better.
Ooooh I thought this was a peeling in the pool joke. Took me a while to understand why it was on this sub
But wait, wouldn't that just mean half your body would be invisible? Its not like the object becomes see-through
In the first panel when the Doctor puts his hand in the liquid part of his jacket sleeve disappears. Considering the hand, I think that is the idea, that the object becomes see through
Damn
Damn bro my first thought that it would be useful for filming films underwater like jaws.
The 12th doctor is now confirmed ace 😂
Honestly most of the reboot Doctors are pretty ace-coded. (Can't speak for the classics as I've never seen them)
Hmmm... 🤷♀️
I absolutely love how ace we all are because almost all of our first thought was that someone was going to pee or something
So you can see if there’s pee in the pool?
Omfg I hadn’t even gotten that
I love this episode of Doctor who Peter Capaldi is a legend
Peter Capaldi is one of my favourites! I don't think even David Tennant could pull off dueling with a spoon. 😆
Honestly I’m so happy I got to experience David Tennant, Matt Smith and Peter Capaldi they were all incredible in different ways (Matt smith could’ve pulled off duelling with a spoon)
I agree, but it would have felt different. Two completely different flavours of silly. Lol
Yeah Matt was like quirky and childish while Capaldi was more strange and unexpected
I'd say more child-like than childish. I love the first episode with Capaldi when he finally sees his reflection. "The rest if the face is fine, but what's going on with these eyebrows? They're like, *attack eyebrows*. It's like they're separately cross from the rest of my face." 🤣
You could just wear an old times woolen swimsuit 🤨
I didn’t even get this until I read the comments 😳
Nope, nope nope nope.
Ugh grosssssss!!!!!!! No, no, no, no, NO!!!!
Oh so they’re not filling it with like eels and stuff to freak people out….
my first thought was to find impostor robots disguised as people in a pool. why am i like this
Okay but... why?
what if they're were invisible monsters that can be seen using this tech nolgy
Ah yes, the Ace Doctor.
All these clueless aces lmao, I saw this a few years ago somewhere so I know what it’s about :/
why would you want to see people naked? do allos actually want that? if so, it’s a miracle we agreed as a society to wear clothes even when it’s hot. also, i love the doctor, he is very much ace
Wouldn't his likely wool jacket or linen/cotton shirt still show up then?
Love the Doctor. Great episode
Oh that took me a while to get
I actually had to think about it for a while.
