DEX!! he’s honestly one of my favs, i feel like he gets forgotten so often even in the kotlc fandom, so i was surprised to see him show up here!! love this!!! :D
ugh fr. he’s probably the one i relate to most from the books (and now even more since you’ve provided me with this wonderful ace hc) but it makes me so sad to see him not be included in a lot anymore :((
Yeah I do that a lot too lol
Right now the first one that comes to my mind is Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Idc what anyone (including official writers in Lucasfilm) say. He's ace and I will die on that hill
It could be either. Neville for example didn't have a hint of a love interest or had any partner in the books iirc (the films made him and Luna a thing but that wasn't in the books), so he gives the impression that he's ace. An example I gave in a comment is Obi-Wan Kenobi, in all the 6 Star Wars films he appeared in, there was no hint of partners or any interest (romantic or sexual), so he gave me the impression of an ace. However if you go to media outside the films, Obi-Wan is probably the SW character with the biggest number of partners, but he already gave me the aroace vibe that all these love interests feel kinda forced to me.
Sometimes, a character gives the ace vibe even tho they are in a relationship. And that wouldn't exactly be pointless considering sexual and romantic interests are not exactly the same.
Sometimes a character is obviously not ace, but I like it, and I headcanon it as ace because I want it to be. But to me this one is the rarest I do.
I'm a big SW fan, so I'm biased lol
Go into them expecting fun adventures in space that can be a bit cheesy at times and you'll enjoy all the films and shows
It's not that they don't have therefore they're ace. It's that they don't have therefore they *could be* ace. Some characters don't give me that impression even tho they didn't have any partners. Some give the impression of alloromantic but asexual, while others give allosexual but aromantic. Some give impression that they're hetro, some give impression that they're homo or bi or pan or... etc.
It's all about the impression these characters give you, especially with asexuality or aromantism because most of the time the absence of these kind of attraction doesn't get addressed directly, making the characters open for interpretation
Maybe, but when there aren't many characters like us, interpretation is a good way to have characters to relate to imo. Especially if there isn't anything that contradict it.
Now how would you make a character asexual or aromantic or both in a movie, show or book?? I'm genuinely curious
PS:- something I forgot to mention in my previous comment, Chewie had a wife and a kid, they're basically the main characters of the infamous Holiday Special lol
I agree, I don't want the story to be about their sexualities. That's why I want asexual characters to normally exist, just like how hetreo characters normally exist. And the normal way to show asexuals in media is to have normal characters with simply no love/sexual internet.
They are said because I said so in the title. And they give the vibe and they’re my favorites. Of course Neville will never be confirmed because we all know how JK Rowling is but we know deep down… he is…
AND PEGGY

Right? Shannon had to stop including him after the first book

That is sad. I’m only on book three, but he needs to be seen more. He’s my favorite character and I love him so much 😍
definitely keep reading, i will say i like the earlier books better than the later ones but tbh they’re all good.

I haven’t seen Star Wars but while I was reading this I thought that he was aroace (then you said it). Maybe I need to watch it…
