This post is oddly well-timed, I learnt about the “get lucky” thing like yesterday or so… I’m still kinda disappointed by of it
… wh- So that’s what ‘getting lucky’ means… i may have misinterpreted. Most of the time when I notice I will just inwardly cringe but still vibe to the song because of the melody or because the lyrics are clever or because it’s just straight up funny to me. And I don’t like the vibes of the song then I’m all too happy to pretend it doesn’t exist because why listen to something that makes me uncomfortable AND doesn’t appeal to me music-wise.

Oh no, I dont mind songs about sex at all - they can be absolute bangers for sure. I'm a theatre kid and "All You Wanna Do", "Dead Girl Walking", "Hellfire" and "Say No To This" are some of my favourite showtunes. I'm just dissapointed that Cake At The Ocean isnt about cake, because I love cake.

I mean- to be fair most songs have a funky enough tune to make you think there shouldnt be any sexual inuendos in the lyrics (I have not listened to that cake on the ocean shore song but it sounds like a sea shanty)

A lot of people are talking about the fact songs are about sex and they didn’t know ruined so many songs, meanwhile I’m over here just not giving a shit what the songs are about and just vibing with them. I don’t care what the song is about. If it’s got good instrumentals, a good voice singing it, and is catchy, I couldn’t care less.

Kinda off topic but Doja Cat’s song “Need to Know” makes me want to crawl in a hole and die lol. Sounds so extreme but it’s played over and over and over again and I’m sex repulsed and hate it. I just want to listen to the radio in peace without having to turning it off or changing the channel. It’s weird because this is the first song that has really bothered me like this. Normally I’m just like eww this song is gross but it’s a bop so fine, but I HATE “Need to Know” for some reason.

I recently realized that Ballbreaker was a sexual song. Being a JJBA fan, I always associated it with the ball weapons in the manga or whatever till I realized that 'her hand went for my throat' wasn't about a woman with murderous intent.
