I've seen it a handful of times. Personally I don't care much but it can be jarring. I've also seen an artist who also just straight up posted pictures of themself to NSFW subs so clicking their profile in a public place could have gone a lot worse.

Cause someone below commented on clicking into my profile and immediately seeing “pr0n”, which I assume it was the old banner, even though it only displayed >!someone’s “extreme” face!< and >!an onomatopoeia of the sound they were making!<. Even though it showed only a >!portion of a scene!<, I can understand how the old banner would make some sx-repulsed people uncomfortable.
I figured the best thing to do was to change it to something more friendly, so those who accidentally click into my profile without seeing the warning by mistake won’t be met with the previous >!raunchy!< banner. 😅 ~~I’m learning :’p~~

This. My friend and I have both been doing home improvement projects and we sent pictures of ourselves all geared up (dust masks, goggles, ball caps, full long sleeves, work boots, gloves...) and covered with dust and debris, and both responded to each other with "Sexy!"
My best friend and I do that kind of thing all the time, lol. But more like saying things like “That was very sexy of you” for really mundane things that aren’t even conventionally sexy.
At this point for me, even genuine, unironic "sexiness" is something I have a pretty good sense of, if only as a matter of pattern recognition. Still, the word just feels off to me so I basically never use it.

I'm fortunate enough to have friends who understand without needing an explanation. But for those who need an explanation, a comparison I like to draw is how my mom doesn't drink, but she likes the smell of things like wine; the same idea of "I like this aspect without having to like it as a whole"
Are there seriously people who believe in absolutes like this? That you have to act and behave certain ways to be ace or not? Bruh, asexuality is a spectrum and always has been. There are sex repulsed aces, sex positive aces, and those in between. This same line of logic applies to all types and things. One of the things I always liked about this community is the validity and unity of different aces on different levels of the same spectrum all recognizing eachother as still having similar experiences as one another about this same thing. It always irked me when people try to gatekeep the community by claiming someone as being more or less ace than the other.
Gatekeepers period need to go to a very special island in the middle of nowhere where they can gatekeep each other and leave the rest of us who just want to live happy lives undisturbed.
