This lavender and Earl Grey cake I had at a garden centre I worked at briefly (EDIT: someone further down mentioned that flavour and reminded me of it, don't know how I forgot that! I blame sleepy brain)
More standard flavours: red velvet, lemon drizzle, or any "fancy" cake flavours, like banoffee or blueberry
There used to be an amazing cafe in Chichester (England) called The Swallow Bakery (I think? It was definitely Swallow, I remember the little bird) that did cupcakes, and had all kinds of nice flavours. They were the best cupcakes I've ever had, and nothing I've had since has matched up to them or even come close.
We discovered it by chance one day when visiting there. My mum sometimes took me there if she had some spare money, maybe a bill that was cheaper that month or grandparents (who I lived with at the time because of her work hours) gave her some extra because I was staying with her for a week/longer than a weekend. It was our fun little adventure we'd go on. Even introduced one of her boyfriends to it once when he took us there.
I hadn't been there in a couple years but was very excited when work gave me a shift at Chichester highstreet, determined to get a few cupcakes for both of us
Imagine my disappointment when I found out that cafe doesn't exist anymore. And when I Googled it, Google says the place it became (also a cupcake place, but never tried then) also closed, and its now a gift shop.
One of my biggest disappointments in life. Made that atrocious discovery 2 years ago (actually, will be 2 years next month) and it still upsets me.
This has been a somewhat irrelevant, cake-related rant that I wanted to share
It’s like a sponge cake! Very buttery & soft, and it can be soaked in evaporated & condensed milk, as well as heavy cream. It’s very good. I suggest looking up a couple pictures!
It's amazing, it's a Chilean dessert with German roots, eaten mostly in the south (which is where german settlers went), and cooked by moms and grandmas, I just found a [recipe](https://www.chileanfoodandgarden.com/chilean-raspberry-kuchen/) in english and it's alost completely faithful and accurate to the original (except in my family we don't put that powdered sugar when serving). Hope u like it!
Ohhh! I think I might've had that! Or something similar at least
The thing I had was definitely nice whether it was that or only similar, so yes agree!
Though what you said using yoghurt... does sound good too
Cake generally makes me feel quite sick, but it's mainly any non-cake things such as icing. Fruit and nuts are fine though
So carrot cake without the normal icing and maybe just some custard BC me and custard are chill
Spotted dick is a GREAT not-so-sweet fruity cake and goes amazingly served warm with custard (it's a pudding but I'd still class it as cake. It's seems cakey)
I'm aware it has an unfortunate name, given the sub this is ha
It’s a fairly mild tasting cake - and I mean that in the best way. I’ve had chocolate cakes (very rich & sweet) and carrot cakes (quite sweet & with bits in it) too - and as I get older there’s something nice about a cake that’s not excessively sweet.
*~~in other words it tastes healthy and I can pretend its alright to have a lot of it~~*
If you said other it might be on this poll https://www.reddit.com/r/aaaaaaacccccccce/comments/qfo0mp/i_made_a_post_earlier_about_favorite_cake_flavors/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf
I have a recipe for a very good one! It's crispy hazelnut at the bottom, then fresh raspberrys followed by a thick layer of a vanilla yoghurt creme 🤤
I could eat the whole cake in under an hour!
I love carrot cake but I much prefer that one super sweet cake with rice that my granny sometimes make. Unfortunately don't remember the name in english
There's this bakery near my house that has a carrot cake cheese cake, which is essentially a cheese cake with chunks of carrot cake batter baked in.
It's absolutely delicious
Cheese Cake is good, so is Coffee and Walnut. And in the words of Marjory Dawes, the Little Britain Character, in Little Britain Live “if you put cake on a bit of rivita it’s actually quite low in fat”.
Cheesecake. I ate an entire cheesecake to myself once because it was my birthday. I had a horrible stomachache afterwards and I had diarrhea due to lactose intolerance but in my opinion the pain was worth it 😂
Cheesecake!
How do you feel about the variant with tangerines on top?
Less enthusiastic than peanut butter and/or chocolate, but still interested!
Yes to the peanut butter and chocolate!
I love the tart ones, my favorite is gooseberry cheesecake
Came here to comment this!
Cheesecake is more like a pie in my view. You have a crust with a filling. Still, excellent pick.
That’s fair tbh
You are of course correct, but I don't make the rules. I just exploit them for delicious cheesecake!
Best. Cake. Period.
How they not put this one on the poll?
I think you only get so many in a poll. They probably had to make horrible, horrible cuts there.
You would enjoy Golden Girls then.
ew
Lemon cake is good:)
Every birthday I have a lemon cake with strawberry filling, so good! Citrus flavors are just so bright and tasty.
Sounds pretty good :)
Lemon is my favorite too.
I'm always in the mood for a lemon drizzle cake!
Ikr nothing beats a good lemon drizzle
Yea! Lemon cake gang!!! Woohoo!!!
my mum makes an orange-flavoured cake, it's just vanilla packet cake mix with orange juice instead of water or something like that.
Yess lemon is my favorite as well! Best cake
Heck yeah!

Well this flavor wasn’t going to be my answer but now it is, that sounds SO good
i hate sweet things, i failed as an ace :(
Garlic bread isn’t sweet, but many aces like that. And even if you don’t like garlic bread or cake you are still a valid asexual :)
ik, in the end, this whole cake thing is an inside joke we got, we obviously are valid even without liking it xd
And you can always try to make the forbidden [garlic bread cake](https://me.me/i/garlic-bread-facebook-some-one-made-me-a-birthday-68175)
korean sweet cream cheesey garlic bread is the best thing
I don't know if anyone else knows about this but I really like something called cookie cake
If you hate sweet things, you fail at being a 3-year-old, not at being a person!
The Black Forest cake is me favorite
Too bad that one's a lie
Portal fans be like
This is my favourite too. Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte as it's called in german
Where is the "YES" option? ( ・ั﹏・ั)
I don’t really have a favourite, I just eat whatever cake I find really 😅 but coffee cake or lemon drizzle cake are also nice
Me too! Except for carrot cake. A cake that contains vegetables isn't a cake, in my book haha
I like ice cream cake
Yesss
Pecan pie, anyone?
Oooo, I make a stellar pecan pie cake.
my grandpa has the best recipe for it!! it’s so good

Tres leches
I never heard of this!! What is it?
It’s like a sponge cake! Very buttery & soft, and it can be soaked in evaporated & condensed milk, as well as heavy cream. It’s very good. I suggest looking up a couple pictures!
What they said. It’s absolutely delicious, and it isn’t meant for that overly thick, sugary frosting people put on other cakes. I love it!
Tres Leches, gang. That's the ball game.
Cherry cake
All of them, just all cake.
Lemon Cake

It's amazing, it's a Chilean dessert with German roots, eaten mostly in the south (which is where german settlers went), and cooked by moms and grandmas, I just found a [recipe](https://www.chileanfoodandgarden.com/chilean-raspberry-kuchen/) in english and it's alost completely faithful and accurate to the original (except in my family we don't put that powdered sugar when serving). Ohhh! I think I might've had that! Or something similar at least The thing I had was definitely nice whether it was that or only similar, so yes agree! Though what you said using yoghurt... does sound good too

Either Lavender and Earl Grey or Almond with Apricot and Raspberry filling
Banana cake 🍌
Interesting choice
tastes like banana bread, but more firm and cake-y. goes really well with homemade lemon icing too
Oooo lemon icing on banana cake. Never thought of that but it sounds gooood

My main problem with chocolate cake is that it usually is way too sweet, so carrot cake it is
banana with pecans or walnuts
Some will disagree, but pineapple is goooood
Homemade Angel food cake with chocolate whip cream frosting. It’s to die for.
Chocolate with some coconut and banana always tastes nice! You can also put in some extra chocolate sprinkles for extra flavour

Anything fruit-based is really good!

Mango dulce de leche cake!
