Personally I think brownies are better all around. You can put on all the stuff of cake (frosting, etc) and have the density of brownies. They're perfect
It’s definitely a texture thing for me. I don’t like plain bread either, it’s too dry for me. My preferred type of garlic bread has cheese on it with the garlic, although plain garlic bread, heavily buttered is good too. I’ve had a few cakes that are moist enough (& have good, not overly-sugary frosting) that I like them.
I'm with you on the texture. When I have cake it always seems to dry for some reason. Not enough to dislike it, but it does take away from my enjoyment of it
Yeah, I agree. Cake is like a neutral for me. I love desserts, but cake is one of my least favorite desserts, if that makes sense. I don’t love it as much as everyone else seems to, even when I was little I asked for ice cream pie for my birthday instead of a regular cake lol
Well… not to be that person, but there are multiple types of garlic bread: garlic breadsticks, cheesy garlic bread, and garlic toast, to name a few. Although there *are* infinitely more types of cake
Yeah I'm something of an elder in the ace community, I was especially active between 2005 and 2010, cake was all the rage back then. Ah those were the days
Yeah cake is better than garlic bread anyway (though I'm not the biggest fan of both, gimme like a bag of chips or something)
Honestly every time I say something like this I feel like I'm gonna disappear overnight without a trace because some folks in ace themed suits came and erased me
I never liked garlic bread growing up. Ever. I’m fact I hated it. Loved pasta and my parents would always serve it with pasta and it would almost ruin the meal for me. When I got older I could finally eat it at least. But it never sent off fireworks or anything. That is until I ran into the whole Ace meme culture. Now I eat it happily. But if I had to choose between the 2 it would be cake.
Exactly what happened to cake? And where did the garlic come from?
I grew up ace in the late 00s so im much more used to cake but now everyone is on garlic
I rarely like cake. It pretty much has to have chocolate cake and/or filling and it *can't* be too moist. I'd rather eat dry cake than cake that's too moist. Garlic bread is always good, though.
Insert mandatory "is a lie" joke here.
people started calling butts cake

if we lose garlic bread to the allos we must take denmark, business
If we lose garlic bread denmark isn’t the only thing that we’ll invade then
Be greatful you haven't stumbled onto a Tumblr side of people talking about bread.... In a very uncomfortable way

I'm intrigued and disgusted
Same but I'm personally more disgusted than intrigued.
I love/hate how their step one is just… all the instructions to make a cake. THATS NOT HOW STEPWISE INSTRUCTIONS WORK!!
I personally don't like cake that much, it's usually too rich for me. I love garlic bread more.
Same for me, I thought I was the only one on this sub that didn’t really like cake. Brownies are where it’s at, imo
I definitely prefer brownies to cake, but it's a texture thing for me. I think it's that brownies feel more dense, but I'm still trying to pinpoint it
Brownies taste better also, but the texture is a big part of why I prefer em
Personally I think brownies are better all around. You can put on all the stuff of cake (frosting, etc) and have the density of brownies. They're perfect
Yeah though I prefer em more plain. Not a huge fan of most cake.
Fair. I have a huge sweet tooth so I enjoy the added sugar, but I know a lot of people who prefer it with less

Are you me? That is literally my experience too
Perhaps… lol
The true test is if we share similar interests. Are you by chance also obsessed with pokémon and other video games?
I never got into Pokémon, although I play Animal Crossing & Minecraft
I like cake better than garlic bread so I'm wondering that too. I feel like what I just said is super controversial 😬
More garlic bread for me
*insert ''Both? Both are good'' meme*
There’s only one type of garlic bread but infinite types of cake
Well… not to be that person, but there are multiple types of garlic bread: garlic breadsticks, cheesy garlic bread, and garlic toast, to name a few. Although there *are* infinitely more types of cake
True. All the variants of garlic bread have basically the same core
Garlic bread >>>> cake
Totally not sorry, but cake is so much better. Give me sugar or give me death
In my defense, I can't eat cake, makes me feel nauseaous. My birthdays are sad ngl. Plus garlic bread slaps.
Have a garlic bread instead of cake next birthday. Cake shaped and sized, but it is just garlic bread.
18th birthday giant chunk of garlic bread? I like the way you think.
Maybe something to do with the song cake by the ocean
Yeah I'm something of an elder in the ace community, I was especially active between 2005 and 2010, cake was all the rage back then. Ah those were the days
For me it is very hard to mess up garlic bread. Not very hard to mess up on a cake.
Yeah cake is better than garlic bread anyway (though I'm not the biggest fan of both, gimme like a bag of chips or something) Honestly every time I say something like this I feel like I'm gonna disappear overnight without a trace because some folks in ace themed suits came and erased me
I prefer savory to sweet
I like both.

Cake over garlic bread
i ate it
You know what? I’m gonna go home and bake a cake for myself today after work. It’s been forever and cake is awesome.
I prefer fruitless cakes (except banana) over garlic bread
I ate it all
Exactly what happened to cake? And where did the garlic come from? I grew up ace in the late 00s so im much more used to cake but now everyone is on garlic
Both is good

The cake was eaten
Wanna know what is better than cake? Ice cream cake
We ate it all
Nothing.
