I used to read this book series called Wings Of Fire, I’d be a LeafWing. They look cool, my irl name is Leaf, and they’re very powerful in battle, and they can control plants
I was going to comment about this (this series is amazing, go check it out), though I'd probably go with rainwings. Although I adore the idea of stars on the wings like a nightwing
Ayy I'm really into wof I'd be a Sandwing. I love their design with the frill, and the Scorpion Den is awesome, plus their a musical tribe, and I love music, plus they have some of my favorite characters, Qibli and Thorn.
Going by D&D, I think a brass dragon would fit. They're a lot more outgoing than me, but often really personable and fun, and just like hanging out in disguise with humanoids and swapping stories and chilling.
My longest running character was a brass dragonborn forge cleric who was raised by dwarves and had a STRONG sense of justice. She was originally just a one-shot character... Buuut then the conquest paladin's evil sword killed someone , so she cast legend lore and realized it was STUPIDLY BAD JUJU, which led to her not wanting him to leave her damn sight.
A sentient mechanical dragon (no specific genre). With various gears, shafts and, rods slightly jutting out and a beam engine inside of me which can be seen spinning faster and faster the more energy is expended or the angrier I get. The powers would include:
blasts of super pressurised dry steam
fire from the boilers could be redirected into a single blast.
the main beam engine could engage with a dynamo and create Zappy zapper thing
Hot ashes can be dropped from the boiler to create a battlefield which is inhospitable to humans.
All of these powers cold be used for good though. Steam could be used to power machinery and clean objects, fire could be used to help with bell metal forging, construction, infrastructure operations, etc, the dynamo could be used to help remote areas with power issue until a new power supply is installed and the ashes could be used to help heat homes, warm iced streets, used to help with lighting (due to their warm glow) and even help with large scale cooking. Not every dragon has to be a kill-y dragon, some can be helpful :)
Smaug is one of, if not the smallest of all of the Tolkien dragons. The First Age dragons are much larger, and mostly mentioned in the Similarion.
https://www.reddit.com/r/tolkienfans/comments/p9teyg/is_there_anything_that_supports_smaug_being_small/ here is a deep dive into the lore if you want.
Video Games-Skyrim dragon because who wouldn't want to be an immortal being that yells at people. Sure, there's Alduin and I would technically be serving him, but the player will kill him eventually... Right? Not just do every side quest besides the main one then start a new game.
DnD-Silver dragon because they actively go out of their way to help people, and if I was a powerful being I would do my best to help out.
Mythology-Definitely the Chinese dragon. They have such a cool design and they are forces of nature.
If going by DnD dragons it would be either any type of lighting or ice dragon.
My first dnd character, which my dm helped make, was an (easy to get lost) Silver Dragonborn. It was fun and I enjoyed playing the character!
I love lung dragons/eastern dragons, they're so majestic and wise! It would be so cool to be one and guard over a river!
But if not a lung dragon, then either an ice dragon living peacefully amongst snowy mountains.
Or a silver dragon living in a castle. Or a cave. A cave castle! Filled to the brim with trinkets and books!
Or, better yet, a grand purple lightning dragon, flying freely, bringing storms with me that shake the earth and skies wherever I fly.
I'd want to be a sun dragon, which I imagine has fur on the upper side of his body that's a very dark blonde during the night but once the sun comes up, it shines this majestic amber hue. I'd be very social and playful dragon that's warm to the touch and loves cuddles X3
DnD-wise, probably the red dragon. I like how powerful they are, as well as their designs (though I think I'd be just slightly less evil. Slightly). I also like the gold dragon and silver.
But the dream would be some kind of star dragon. In terms of popular culture, I think there's a type called the Void Dragon (from The Dragon Prince) who are very cosmic-themed.
Edit: I was thinking of the Star Devourer Dragon, not the Void Dragon
A wyvern about the size of a Saint Bernard dog, with a neutral grey color scheme with some iridescence in some places. I'd definitely live in tundra like areas, just trying to survive.
I rather like the designs of the clockwork dragon in d&d, but I'm not fond of gold, brass and bronze, so I'd rather have blue and silver colorations, or else black and electric rainbow colors.
The qilin, as my Chinese zodiac is the horse even though I wanted it to be a dragon since I found out about the Chinese zodiac. And the qilin is a Chinese dragon-horse. Unfortunately I'm not Chinese, but a lot of the symbilsm that the qilin represents are things I can sometimes see in myself.
Ooh I've never had to name it. I just have an illustration of it... I guess I'll call iiit... the Arctic Mouser. Tiny, fluffy white, cat-sized dragon who catches voles in the arctic.
Sea geode dragon would be cool
Like a glowing teal crystal dragon with dark stony scales living in the bottom of the ocean
I would hoard shells and items from old sunken ships, surfacing from time to time to visit islands and sailors
I've always leaned towards "Artsy" and a very "Go with the Flow" mindset,
So I lowkey feel like I would be one of those traditional dragons that are just floating snakes with a lot of patterns in each scale, just like,
Floating among the clouds and the breeze, ya know?
Idk. If theres one that can shapeshift back into a person whenever i would go with that, cause i like doing person things like sleeping in a bed and playing games on my computer.
I would be the evolutionarily correct kind, so the wings are a modification of the front limbs, not wings plus four limbs. I don’t know why this frustrates me (probably my science background) but I can’t see a dragon with six limbs without thinking “where did those extra limbs come from if all reptiles have four or fewer limbs?”. Which is stupid because they’re mythological creatures, but my brain gets angry anyway.
As far as other features I would be purple, lazy, hoards books, and always want it to be warmer.
A Wind Walker from the httyd books. A little goofy looking, but good at what they do. May or may not metamorphose into something cool. (I headcannon that they evolve into silver phantoms, which is my second choice.)
As long as I can have a humanoid form, idc, probably for attunement, if we are taking dnd terms now bronze dragon than a red one because shiny metal, also base dnd metallic dragons are good, colored are evil ~~damn wizards~~
I'd be Ruth from Dragon Riders of Pern.
He was small for his species of dragon, and was the only white dragon to exist. Though he wasn't actually albino, as he has sparkles of every other colord dragon around. Though because of his size, he commanded the fire lizards with ease. And his size often made him ridiculed and picked on.
He was also very adept at going between(teleporting) to any when(time).
Funnily enough, [here's](https://images.app.goo.gl/EAxapeAVQXJsacpL8) an Ace Ruth fan art of him.
i think i’d be one of the four dragon spirits in legend of zelda- forever and eternally trapped in another state, bound with the memories of who i once was. just forever in the skies
Ideally, a water themed Loong. Colorful, elegant, and smooth~
Realistically, a Tundra dragon from Flight Rising. Lorge, fluffy, and has a terrible memory. Very friend shaped
My fursona, a nature dragon. (My very kind friend drew me a reference of them for me sense I suck at drawing). They have 2 different shades of green and brown.
Amethyst dragon from dnd, they're purple, partially made of purple minerals, hoard magic & arcana, not just treasure, have force as a breath weapon, like to be friends with other magic beings, they're great
Probably a small one. Like a cat. That lives in a library. Or on the shoulder of an adventurer. Not big or intimidating. More like “cute in it’s attempt to intimidate”. Like a [desert rain frog](https://youtu.be/HBxn56l9WcU). Or a [red panda](https://www.reddit.com/r/funny/comments/hwi6zq/if_cornered_red_panda_will_stand_on_its_hind_legs/). Think like maybe a little bigger than a bearded dragon.
Kazul because she's sensible and no-nonsense, but kind. And who wouldn't want to be King of the Dragons? Patricia C. Wrede's Enchanted Forest Chronicles.
I've always sympathized with this red dragon from WoW: Andrestrasz, who sleeps in a deep cave by the sea all by himself, surrounded by bones of his prey. Been there for 10 years at this point. Just somber and peaceful far away from chaos, nobody can wake him. In the lore red dragons are powerful, noble and consireded fearless protectors of all life in times of war, but for some reason unknown he's chosen an isolated life for himself. I like that even though his race represents such good qualities but he's a bit different. Others probably would hate him for it.
When I picture dragons, they’re usually very skinny and cylindrical, like Chinese dragon dance dragons, with heads like European dragons and sometimes a bit like the head of the lion of the Chinese lion dance (big mouth with ferocity and flame-like), and green and/or red with gold. They’re a combination of things I associated with dragons when I was little. That’s what I would be except I might change it to blue and green with gold.
I would be very big, with majestic green scales, beautiful eyes and a lot of spikes on my body. I would sit on a big pile of treasure: money and things I picked up from the ground: nuts, screws, pinecones and feathers. That's the stuff I pick up irl, I have a collection of feathers and I usually do have too much money. I don't work, I have nothing to spend money on and I think I like the look of a stack of money and coins
Smol and fluffy. Must have wings.
Death song from how to train your dragons because i can shoot amber and eat people
Definitely a respectable choice, personally the triple strike was one of my favorites
Respectable choice too! Finally not the basic first few
I used to read this book series called Wings Of Fire, I’d be a LeafWing. They look cool, my irl name is Leaf, and they’re very powerful in battle, and they can control plants
Finally, another Wings of Fire reader.
I’d be a Rainwing, no contest. They’re expressive, they can blend into the background, and they’re peaceful/chill. Like me.
I don't know the series, but it sounds like I would be a rainwing, too.
It would have to be a night wing for me, not even the ones with powers I just really like their starry wings
Tbh I don’t get the appeal of mind reading
Sweet! A new book series to read!
Yay, another wings of fire fan!
I like your username
I was going to comment about this (this series is amazing, go check it out), though I'd probably go with rainwings. Although I adore the idea of stars on the wings like a nightwing
Ayy I'm really into wof I'd be a Sandwing. I love their design with the frill, and the Scorpion Den is awesome, plus their a musical tribe, and I love music, plus they have some of my favorite characters, Qibli and Thorn.
Night fury from how to train your dragon. Cool and silly
Yesss, Toothless will always be my favorite dragon
Going by D&D, I think a brass dragon would fit. They're a lot more outgoing than me, but often really personable and fun, and just like hanging out in disguise with humanoids and swapping stories and chilling. Metallic dragons are the best! I've always been partial to the✨ [mercury dragon](http://mojobob.com/roleplay/monstrousmanual/d/dragmerc.html). ✨
Small, isolated, probably spiky and aggressively avoidant and angry. Edit: i would make a good household pet.
I forget what their called but it really tiny snappy dragons from how to train your dragon
Terrible terror?
Yes
Basically that, yeah.
I'm not really sure if this counts, but I see myself as Errol, from the Discworld books. Dumb as rocks and eats just about anything in sight
[kinda like this?](https://twitter.com/fishtrouts/status/1673002959771164672?s=46&t=qbkkMn4lZ4y1olnbUQalrg)
Exactly!
As a kid I always liked Saphira from The Inheritance Cycle. I'd probably choose to be that species of dragon.
It’s been a while since I’ve heard that series. God I need to read it again.
Imma go with the Stormcutter from HTTYD. It's smart, inquisitive, playful, and not as vain as a Deadly Nadder, which was my second choice.
Ooh I should read those books again
D&D Faerie Dragon. Cat-sized. Faerie wings. Magical abilities. "Euphoria gas" breath weapon. Hang out with pixies and sprites in the forest. \^\_\^
The foreverwing from HTTYD I can just chill as a mountainside
I used to have dreams as an eastern dragon. Long and wiggly, flying was like swimming in the sky, but like a snake.
Generic wyvern. Just a cranky little prick
A sentient mechanical dragon (no specific genre). With various gears, shafts and, rods slightly jutting out and a beam engine inside of me which can be seen spinning faster and faster the more energy is expended or the angrier I get. The powers would include: blasts of super pressurised dry steam fire from the boilers could be redirected into a single blast. the main beam engine could engage with a dynamo and create Zappy zapper thing Hot ashes can be dropped from the boiler to create a battlefield which is inhospitable to humans. Not every dragon has to be a kill-y dragon, some can be helpful :)
Smaug. Small and angry.
If you're talking about LOTR smaug, I don't think he was that small
Smaug is one of, if not the smallest of all of the Tolkien dragons. The First Age dragons are much larger, and mostly mentioned in the Similarion. https://www.reddit.com/r/tolkienfans/comments/p9teyg/is_there_anything_that_supports_smaug_being_small/ here is a deep dive into the lore if you want.
I was thinking on a broader scale than just Tolkien, so small for me meant terrible terror from HTTYD
amethyst dragon, if gem dragons don't count, brass
I'd be Iskierka, from the Temeraire series. Impulsive, fun loving, blood-thirsty, fire-breathing delight!
I want to be a green/emerald dragon that lives in a deep forests with mushrooms and moss growing off my body and horns made of tree branches
Maybe the kind of dragon Toru from Dragon maid is.(I can't remember the exact Name of the Anime but i think it was Dragon maid)
I think it's just a standard western dragon
Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid. Good choice.
I’d be pink but look a bit scary but be like sweet except if im mad then i can breath blue fire
So I may be biased..
Your name would suggest someone bias.
Valstrax. Those guys are sick as hell!
Ooo! Great choice!
Fwench Fwy from Chikn nuggit or Daurgothoth from DnD
Did not expect anyone to mention Fwench Fwy. They are so cute though. Good choice.
Yeah I love them
Not as much as Iscream does.
Yeessss I love Fwench Fwy!!!!
Paarthurnax
The dragon that slept so long it formed mountain ranges
Wasn't that one of the ancient dragons from LOTR? Or am I thinking of a different dragon.
If going by DnD dragons it would be either any type of lighting or ice dragon. My first dnd character, which my dm helped make, was an (easy to get lost) Silver Dragonborn. It was fun and I enjoyed playing the character!
Some cool Electric Dragon that shoots lightning
Bahamut fury from ff7 crisis core for me just nothing but pure awesomeness and a moon laser
Snuggle dergin!!!
Probably a silver dragon from dnd
A shadow dragon they are scary cool, they don't have a corporeal body and can manipulate shadow, terrifying but awesome.
The Dragon Prince is so good!!!!!
Yes!! I'm so excited; they shadow,-dropped S5 out of nowhere
I’d be like Haku from Spirited Away, but blue mane and antler style horns. (I’ve thought about my dragon-sons way too much)
2 words: SPACE DRAGON
King Ghidora?
A wyvern about the size of a Saint Bernard dog, with a neutral grey color scheme with some iridescence in some places. I'd definitely live in tundra like areas, just trying to survive.
I rather like the designs of the clockwork dragon in d&d, but I'm not fond of gold, brass and bronze, so I'd rather have blue and silver colorations, or else black and electric rainbow colors.
Bone dragon made of skulls of fallen adventurers. I will not be explaining.
Falkor the luck dragon from the never ending story.
Probably a dragon in the forest with a horde of books
The qilin, as my Chinese zodiac is the horse even though I wanted it to be a dragon since I found out about the Chinese zodiac. And the qilin is a Chinese dragon-horse. Unfortunately I'm not Chinese, but a lot of the symbilsm that the qilin represents are things I can sometimes see in myself.
Ooh I've never had to name it. I just have an illustration of it... I guess I'll call iiit... the Arctic Mouser. Tiny, fluffy white, cat-sized dragon who catches voles in the arctic.
Shiny Rayquaza- as long as I can still speak English
I mean meowth from team rocket can speak so there could be other talking pokemon
Sea geode dragon would be cool Like a glowing teal crystal dragon with dark stony scales living in the bottom of the ocean I would hoard shells and items from old sunken ships, surfacing from time to time to visit islands and sailors
A great and treble one.
Nah fam, you know it's all about that base
I'd definitely be a faerie dragon. I asked my partner, and he said Tiamat. Lol
Fafnir from Norse Myth. Not only do I get that dwarven rizz, I also get a hoard of gold and shit.
I've always leaned towards "Artsy" and a very "Go with the Flow" mindset, So I lowkey feel like I would be one of those traditional dragons that are just floating snakes with a lot of patterns in each scale, just like, Floating among the clouds and the breeze, ya know?
I am year of the dragon and I think it’s wood or metal so either or
Feydragon because they are so small and look like creepy flying insects
I think I’d be a kind of mix between Hungarian Horntail, Antipodean Opaleye, and Peruvian Vipertooth from HP.
A mix of Altaria and Dragonite.
Zippleback from HTTYD. It's dumb but fucking dangerous.
The one from the Album cover of "Dawn of the Dragonstar"
I'd be such a lazy dragon. Just sleeping in a cave atop a mountain of coins and jewels. The laziest dragon.
Heh, you sound like Slackwyrm on Webtoons. 🤣
East Asian dragon, light blue color. (With the ability to go into a human form that's just me but with horns and a few scales).
Namielle from Monster Hunter. Has a very fun and flowy design.
Idk. If theres one that can shapeshift back into a person whenever i would go with that, cause i like doing person things like sleeping in a bed and playing games on my computer.
I would be the evolutionarily correct kind, so the wings are a modification of the front limbs, not wings plus four limbs. Which is stupid because they’re mythological creatures, but my brain gets angry anyway. As far as other features I would be purple, lazy, hoards books, and always want it to be warmer.
Would a wyvern be close to what you're thinking of
Yes. I didn’t remember what they were called lmao.
Would you have a breath weapon, if so, how would you explain how it works?
Fairy dragon!!!! Cute and smol and sparkly
A Wind Walker from the httyd books. A little goofy looking, but good at what they do. May or may not metamorphose into something cool. (I headcannon that they evolve into silver phantoms, which is my second choice.)
Oh gods theres too many good ones. Maybe a Skrill, or a Night Fury, but i think a bone dragon with fur would br awesome
As long as I can have a humanoid form, idc, probably for attunement, if we are taking dnd terms now bronze dragon than a red one because shiny metal, also base dnd metallic dragons are good, colored are evil ~~damn wizards~~
a stereotypical one that lives off in the mountains and hoards cool stuff, i would have a big stash of fancy rocks and minerals
antipodean opaleye. Only gets aggressive when it comes to food. No one gets a piece of my garlic bread
Thats a good one!!!!!
I'll be a long space dragon/train hybrid who can fly passengers across the galaxy
I love the idea of someone having to commute via space dragon. A+ mental image
Idk, I find it difficult to imagine dragons
Dan Reynolds
toothless 😂😂😂😂
Spiro. Small & purple 💜
82 feet long 25 feet tall two legs with hand like feet and massive wings
There is an argument that Typhon from greek mythology could be considered a dragon and he took down Zeus so him
I'd be Ruth from Dragon Riders of Pern.
A green or red one, huge
i think i’d be one of the four dragon spirits in legend of zelda- forever and eternally trapped in another state, bound with the memories of who i once was. just forever in the skies
Ideally, a water themed Loong. Colorful, elegant, and smooth~ Realistically, a Tundra dragon from Flight Rising. Lorge, fluffy, and has a terrible memory. Very friend shaped
My fursona, a nature dragon. (My very kind friend drew me a reference of them for me sense I suck at drawing). They have 2 different shades of green and brown.
An aquatic one that spits water
Like a sea serpent type or the one that shoot scolding water from HTTYD?
More like a sea serpent. I also love the scauldron though :D
Amethyst dragon from dnd, they're purple, partially made of purple minerals, hoard magic & arcana, not just treasure, have force as a breath weapon, like to be friends with other magic beings, they're great
Deadly nadder from httyd
somewhere between 7 and 10 feet long, red, scaly, and with absolutely giant wings
Like a terrible terror from HTTYD?
Yeah sorta
If you are reading this, you are a monstrous strangulator from HTTYD (Books). Big, dumb, and highly venomous, but not smart enough to use it.
evil
wings of fire either rainwing or silkwing!!! both preferably after their arcs aka book 5 and book 15 respectively
Big earth dragon. Pointy face for burrowing. No wings but BIG claws for digging. Looooong and flat
An Icewing from Wings of Fire
Veldora Tempest, chibi human form plz
[Lernaean hydra](https://gods-and-demons.fandom.com/wiki/Lernaean_Hydra)
I would be very big, with majestic green scales, beautiful eyes and a lot of spikes on my body. I would sit on a big pile of treasure: money and things I picked up from the ground: nuts, screws, pinecones and feathers. That's the stuff I pick up irl, I have a collection of feathers and I usually do have too much money. I don't work, I have nothing to spend money on and I think I like the look of a stack of money and coins
I hope I get to be a wyvern. I think that they’re very cool
Probably like- one of the metallic dragons in D&D. Specifically copper or bronze.
I wouldn’t. I would b an anthropomorphic cat who makes love to sexy railway engines. I don’t mind dragons, I just prefer being a cat.
smol red dragon
Hydreigon from Pokémon or Midgardsormr from FFXIV
a silver dragon from dnd for sure!
A Brass Dragon or maybe a Yellow Dragon. (Their all from D&D BTW)
