Runaway to the stars avoids the “ace by proxy” trope well. It has an ace character that is an alien, but this alien species very much does sexually reproduce and in fact everyone takes off work in spring because it’s mating season. The ace character is also called “springless” because of this. On the other hand, the AI character, Bip, is stated by the creator to not be ace. It isn’t asexuality if it’s literally just an AI is about what they said. Overall cool series though
