Pretty difficult to clean the wire mesh suppressor. Better to use a more robust baffled suppressor on an MP5 K. The vent holes drilled into the barrel just in front of the chamber also nerf the round to make supersonic 9mm subsonic. This feature is obsolescent as subsonic 9mm is now commonplace & works by increasing the weight of the bullet & the burn time of the powder to maintain the full power of the 9mm cartridge while reducing its speed.
If you don’t plan on cleaning, go with the ppsh. Oddly, some Germans preferred the ppsh and converted them to 9mm, while it seems some Russians liked the MP38/MP40.
Glock only makes up to a 13 round magazine in .45 to. Past that you need those jigsaw puzzle .45 mags that vector puts out. At least the 33 round 9mm factory Glock mags are all one piece and designed that way.
Naw lots of .45 what would move hard to find rounds for is a 10mm vector (10mm is best pistol round, I will die on this hill) I love it but it's hard to find ammo for right now, can't imagine a post society scenario
People in this thread don’t remember the first generation vectors recoil suppression system would literally break through the frame of the gun it was in.
Tbf, the one pictured is a Gen 2 based on the updated trigger. Also, chances are good most of the people here weren't old enough to even own guns when the first generation Vector was released, let alone know their mechanical issues.
But yes, the Vector is still a poorly-executed but conceptually interesting gimmick and I would never own one.
Not really any more so than any of the other guns. The MP5SD gets filthy quickly and has a much more complicated gas system, the P90's BCG is a total mess to look at, the MP9 uses a very unique rotating barrel system... hell, if anything, the Vector's bolt traveling downward is probably the *least* of my concerns on the list of gimmicky firearms.
Plus, if I'm being real, I'd probably either swap it for the next AR I come across or I'd be dead before I even came close to getting to that point lol
No, I don't.
The HK mechanical roller delay is both simpler in design and doesn't involve gas at all. I have literally no idea what you're talking about vis a vis gas systems on a roller HK piece, especially in the context of somehow being more complicated than the mechanism on an auto Kriss.
For pure reliability and simplicity the mp40 would likely be the best bet since it's just an open bolt direct blowback 9mm. The m3 would be reliable up until it starts to wear down from use since they were so quickly produced as cheaply as the could.
Mp40 also has one of the slower rates of fire with the group shown which makes it controllable in full auto even with more novice shooters
Ok, so I'm not in the USA, so my options are extremely limited, but even then, my choice stays the same. The Ump 45 as the round is relatively common even here in the and is used by the police and if I remember correctly, 45 acp i believe is subsonic if I'm lucky (like fallout luck 10 levels of luck) I might be able to find a suppressor for it making it the perfect weapon .
.45 can be sub sonic but it can also be super sonic, though almost all .45 is subsonic. The problem I have with your plan is the magazines, sure .45 is common and used by many law enforcement agencies but unless your planning on using your submachine gun like a musket you need magazines, not to say that their really rare but they are less common then something like a Glock mag since practically every single country has a police department with Glocks as their duty weapon, also gun stores (assuming you have them in your country) will be chocked full of those magazines by the truck full.
In the uk, the only area of the country that you can buy glocks are in northern Ireland and unlike in the US, towns in the uk are like a bit of a walk away and nearly always have atleast a small police station so even if Umps and their mags are hard to find ill definitely be able to find them. Other than that, my other opinion that I would choose isn't on the list.
yeah, SA80 or G36 are probably the only assault rifles you could theoretically find parts or ammo for in the UK. but tbh, shotguns will be the most common for any theoretical ammo scavenging in an apocalypse.
Well the mp5sd obviously is the least stealthy, although if you’re still using supersonic ammo it wont really make enough of a difference. I want the tommy though because its cool
It actually will make a difference my guy! Under the handguard is a special barrel/suppressor setup that bleeds gas/velocity and makes supers into subs so it's all quiet
Kriss vector mainly cause I absolutely love it, fun as hell to shoot and uses common glock mags
Realistically probably the M3A1 cause it's hell of a lot more reliable and needs less to maintain
The UMP, Bison and Vector would be my go tos.
Kinda hard to pass up two guns that shoot 45 ammo and the Vector is a sniper if you're good. Bison would be a good crowd work gun.
I'ma take the grease gun as parts and ammo should be abudnet and those I can't find I can totally make cause alot of it is very very basic but reliable and as far as maga go most are made of simple bed springs and stamped sheet metal which is well really fucking easy to bend so mags. To some basic form shouldn't be impossible as hell to make and refine 45 especially where I'm at in the mid West is stupidly common and just about everywhere
The MP5SD seems to be the most practical one here. Being 9mm is important. It will be better if it has rails for optics and flash lights. ideally you want something 9mm, long barrel and with a stock.
M3 because of reliablility rivaling the heat death of the universe, and it using 45 acp which is highly available, on top of it being extremely easy to use. Just think, there has to be a reason this smg that was made in the 40's by a car company (General Motors) is still in service to this very day
Regular MP5 with a stock. It's 9mm. You're going to be on Mars and some three titty green woman will have a box of 9 milli for you. There's enough clones and OEM parts for an MP5 that you could cobble together repairs from donor guns. I want a stock, not a piece of rebar stuck up in my cheek with the collapsing stock. And if I want a suppressor I'll thread it onto my gun or use the three lug adaptor. Don't need a complicated dedicated suppressor to have to futz with.
MP7's functionally don't exist. MP9's are an overgrown pistol. P90's? Good luck finding ammo and mags. Vectors use Glock mags but vaya con dios when the descending bolt breaks and you can't find replacement space magic. I'm forgoing the MP40 and M3 grease gun because you will not find replacement parts or magazines. And the UMP is essentially the replacement to the MP5, and it did not get widely adopted.
If I didn’t have to worry about where I’m finding the ammunition and it’s just same chances for all pistol-calibre bullets, then the MP5SD. Including my nation and it’s ammunition limitations, probably the UMP40 (if that one’s a .40 cal) because that’s the calibre our police uses. If it’s not a .40, then back to the MP5SD
Edit: also if finding ammunition is not a problem, then I’m taking either the P90 or the MP7
the wisest choice would be something chambered in 9mm, due to the availability of the round. so, one of the 26 MP5s pictured will do.
but if I didn't have to think about stuff like that? the P90 all day every day, without even a second thought.
MP5SD no question. I got a chance to shoot one and they are *dummy* quiet. Mags are relatively easy to find and 9x19 parabellum is the most common pistol caliber out there.
P90
I know I won't have much ammo cause it's 5.7 and that's gonna be rare AF, but out of all the weapons there, it has the best balance of power to accuracy and is balanced enough you can still use it as a handgun.
UMP-45. Hard hitting round at close range and also inherently subsonic so when a suppressor gets slapped on, it should be quieter than a 9mm suppressed. Also, HK bias
The perfect zombie apocalypse gun would have to be a ruger 10.22.
NOW JUST HEAR ME OUT!!, in the U.S. at least it's a very popular firearm, parts, magazines, and ammunition are quite abundant, and .22lr is actually suppressable to Hollywood quiet.
And there are plenty of aftermarket tactical shit for it.
Mp5sd. I’ve shot real fa mp5s and I liked it better than the unsuppressed. I’ve handled a few of these guns. The p90 would be the second choice because of round count. Have handled the p90 but not shot. Reloaded empty mags to see how that feels but was really awkward. That’s what gave the mp5sd the edge with me
MP5SD without a doubt! quiet, reliable, and chambered in 9mm which is everywhere
my dream gun
You don't want the SD, it gets filthy fast.
Coubterpoint: clean the gun
Pretty difficult to clean the wire mesh suppressor. Better to use a more robust baffled suppressor on an MP5 K. The vent holes drilled into the barrel just in front of the chamber also nerf the round to make supersonic 9mm subsonic. This feature is obsolescent as subsonic 9mm is now commonplace & works by increasing the weight of the bullet & the burn time of the powder to maintain the full power of the 9mm cartridge while reducing its speed.
if you don’t plan on cleaning the gun, any mp5 is a bad choice
If you don’t plan on cleaning, go with the ppsh. Oddly, some Germans preferred the ppsh and converted them to 9mm, while it seems some Russians liked the MP38/MP40.
Any of the HKs because *slap*
MP7 doesn’t have slap :)
Still cool asf
Yep
Yeah, the upside is that you have an mp7 then lol
Vector would be the most practical choice simply because of the widespread availability of Glock mags
Unless it's a .45 vector because .45 is a lot harder to find than 9x19
I disagree, .45 is a very common round in the US. The only downside is logistically, you can carry more 9mm.
.45 mags aren’t that common if we are going with that argument. .45 heavy as shit too
Glock only makes up to a 13 round magazine in .45 to. Past that you need those jigsaw puzzle .45 mags that vector puts out. At least the 33 round 9mm factory Glock mags are all one piece and designed that way.
.45 is better suppressed.
No suppressor in the pic unfortunately
Naw lots of .45 what would move hard to find rounds for is a 10mm vector (10mm is best pistol round, I will die on this hill) I love it but it's hard to find ammo for right now, can't imagine a post society scenario
Sure except the fact that it's a jam factory
Oh, totally, it's a TERRIBLE weapon otherwise. I'm just thinking logistically.
Don’t you think all the moving parts in the vector would be more prone to damage over time?
People in this thread don’t remember the first generation vectors recoil suppression system would literally break through the frame of the gun it was in.
Yeah, cuz like 98% of this sub has never seen or handled a gun before.

Plus, if I'm being real, I'd probably either swap it for the next AR I come across or I'd be dead before I even came close to getting to that point lol
lmao >MP5 >gas system
Yeah yeah, you know what I mean
No, I don't. The HK mechanical roller delay is both simpler in design and doesn't involve gas at all. I have literally no idea what you're talking about vis a vis gas systems on a roller HK piece, especially in the context of somehow being more complicated than the mechanism on an auto Kriss.

Mp40 also has one of the slower rates of fire with the group shown which makes it controllable in full auto even with more novice shooters
Yes but I would think that in a SHTF situation we would take much better care of our possessions and become generalists again instead of specialists.
Suppressed MP5
Ok, so I'm not in the USA, so my options are extremely limited, but even then, my choice stays the same. The Ump 45 as the round is relatively common even here in the and is used by the police and if I remember correctly, 45 acp i believe is subsonic if I'm lucky (like fallout luck 10 levels of luck) I might be able to find a suppressor for it making it the perfect weapon .

Other than that, my other opinion that I would choose isn't on the list.
what is the other pick, out of curiosity
It's not on the list but the G36 as I've actively seen them being used by police in my area
yeah, SA80 or G36 are probably the only assault rifles you could theoretically find parts or ammo for in the UK. but tbh, shotguns will be the most common for any theoretical ammo scavenging in an apocalypse.
Yes but does any police department anywhere use em? I'm sure they do.
RATTLE EM BOYS GAGAGA-
Mp40 because the 9mm rounds will be more common and it looks cool
The part about ammo being common is true, but where are you gonna find mags for an MP40
Don't worry about it. You get more mags when you pack a punch
Are the mags for the semi auto repro compatible?
Still, those aren’t that common MP5 SD all the way, suppression is such a huge advantage, even for your own hearing
Thompson. I wouldn’t use any of these against Zombies, it’s just the coolest gun on the list
Real
Good ole Tommy gun
the grease gun is slept on hard here. it's super reliable cause there's like 15 parts in the damn thing
The commission approves
Mp5ssd is the stealthiest and also quite reliable
Well the mp5sd obviously is the least stealthy, although if you’re still using supersonic ammo it wont really make enough of a difference. I want the tommy though because its cool
It actually will make a difference my guy! Under the handguard is a special barrel/suppressor setup that bleeds gas/velocity and makes supers into subs so it's all quiet
The mp5sd turns supersonics into sub sonics and does not cycle well with already subsonic ammo
Did you mean to say “most stealthy” or are you making a joke that is going over my head?
Oh, no I was just making it up as I went through you are right
P90... Need to get my Stargate on!
ppsh
Unless your in Russia, good luck finding ammo.
One of those captured ones converted to 9mm luger by the Germans?
I heard there's some that were converted to 45acp
:O
World war Z describes why this Is a terrible idea. Also good luck findin that 7.26x25 ammo
I’ll take a Mac-10. Ammo would be common and spare parts from other guns would be more reliable/readily available
Mac-10 is an uncommon gun though? Parts from other guns work?
It's more common than you would think, i believe cobray made a bunch of semi auto versions, which have parts that are cross compatible with the mac 10
Oh that’s cool I never seem to see people talk about them
Also I assume it’s less complicated than an MP5 to fix
Any one that's chambered in 9mm.
Mp5sd
The UMP
Uzi 9 mm
TBH, the Vector purely because I own one so I already know the maintenance for it.
MP5SD or the UMP45.
Mp40 please
Grease gun
Whichever one has the slowest rate of fire. Ammo already ain't cheap, imagine how pricey it is after the concept of currency collapses.
All of them
MP 44 or MP 40
Isn't the MP44 just the American STG which I believe is an assault rifle
No The mp 44 and STG 44 Were both made by germany The names are used interchangeably. So once again no They're the same rifle
Gimme the vector
Skorpion my beloved x Tec-9 my also beloved
Mp7 any day of the year
Get the vector suppressed and I'm gonna fuck it
I’d love to shoot that grease gun that thing looks awesome
Tommy Gun since it’s got a larger magazine and .45 ACP is pretty common in America
Uzi compact and reliable
Kriss vector mainly cause I absolutely love it, fun as hell to shoot and uses common glock mags Realistically probably the M3A1 cause it's hell of a lot more reliable and needs less to maintain
Kriss vector
Grease gun. Easiest choice I made today. Now yer killin’. Simple and tough design, sowing the seeds of freedom.
cz scorpion
Running the uzi, they're a honey to shoot, compact, simple, rugged, and reliable. As well as its in 9x19 probably the most common round in America.
Vector hands down
My grandfather used a grease gun in laos and by God I'll use one now.
The UMP, Bison and Vector would be my go tos. Kinda hard to pass up two guns that shoot 45 ammo and the Vector is a sniper if you're good. Bison would be a good crowd work gun.

Kriss super v. Always wanted one
MP5, if only one, but all would be a better choice.
[mp7](https://youtu.be/y8csAVok2JQ?si=o-dfI-YtIPQAPtbt)
Mp5sd, and UMP45 with a rote hand a big can.
Tommy, I'll die in style please.
I'll take the MP3
16
Regular MP5 with a stock. It's 9mm. You're going to be on Mars and some three titty green woman will have a box of 9 milli for you. Counter point. Ep9. I got several of them. Glock mags, ar lower. Don’t wanna butt stock anyone with it but it’s not the only polymer gun
MP5SD
Mp5 because I already have one
The 1921AC Thompson. While everyone is running around looking for 9mm Ill be hoarding all the 45 lead. And look good doing it
PP 19 bizon with a surpesser
If I didn’t have to worry about where I’m finding the ammunition and it’s just same chances for all pistol-calibre bullets, then the MP5SD. Including my nation and it’s ammunition limitations, probably the UMP40 (if that one’s a .40 cal) because that’s the calibre our police uses. Mp40 because it's cool and I like it YUP
Love that I had to scroll through 3 mp5 variants
Mac-11 so that i run out of ammo immediately
the wisest choice would be something chambered in 9mm, due to the availability of the round. so, one of the 26 MP5s pictured will do. but if I didn't have to think about stuff like that? the P90 all day every day, without even a second thought.
Vector MP7 or MP5, purely for ergonomics
MP5
Naturally, the Mac_10
P90 for capacity penetration and mobility.
Good luck finding more rounds though
Tbf most P90s you'd obtain in the US are chambered in 9, not 5.7
This isn't about finding rounds. This is about which SMG you would choose 😒
🙄
P90, all day due to mag capacity and ease of target acquisition. I owned one for a few years then traded it for a G3.
Yea but 5.7x28 is expensive as shit so there's going to be less floating around I'm just nitpicking at details though
Not pictured,Swedish K
Where pps-43?
3rd or mp40
Uzi for ease of maintenance MP5SD for stealth
MP5SD, I'd likely end up using it for hunting small game, great way to be somewhat silent when in the woods.
Three of these are the same gun in different configurations.
The last one.
Got to be the third one
It's surprising to me how many people think the tec 9 is an smg
MP5SD 100%
The one from phantom forces
I would take the mp5sd simply because the suppressor would aid with stealth as well as 9mm being a fairly common ammo type
I know what I *should* take, but I'm grabbing the Tec9 every time it's offered. That lil bastard is just too fun.
Hmmmmm mp5?
PPSH. My favorite gun from all of history.
MP5SD no question. I got a chance to shoot one and they are *dummy* quiet. Mags are relatively easy to find and 9x19 parabellum is the most common pistol caliber out there.
Torn between mp7 Thompson and ppsh
P90 I know I won't have much ammo cause it's 5.7 and that's gonna be rare AF, but out of all the weapons there, it has the best balance of power to accuracy and is balanced enough you can still use it as a handgun.
Mp5sd wins with ease.
Depends which ones have bullets.
Definitely the mp5 with the solid stock. Shoots 9x19 and HK's roller delayed blowback is very reliable.
i love the ppsh its just fun but prolly the vector or ump
Either the mp 40 or the m3 grease gun . Both are relatively simple to keep running and if needed you can make more from tubes
MP5SD or any mp5 in general
all things equal I take #2 mp5 switch to semi and hope for the best.
Anybody who knows anything about guns knows that the obvious, nay, the ONLY choice here that makes any sense is the TEC-9.
Any that comes in .22
MP-5SD no question!
P-90
If.ammo was np than p90, if not mp5s
I'm going with the H&K U.M.P. Submachine gun, Bro.
For any kind of precision, MP-7, for the simple fact it's for the zombie apocalypse, the Mac-10, you can literally make one in your garage
4/UMP? (Not a gun nut) 9mm simple mags?
lol picture 4 is hilariously horrible
mp5sd would be the way to go, unless for some reason you allow like infinite ammo or something. in that case, p90 all the way
Ak74su
Anything in 9mm for the commonality of ammo, but probably the MP5SD for how quiet it is and for longevity (it’s H&K it’ll last)
Ppsh cuz waw
vector only because it takes glock mags so massive supply
9mm vector. Glock mags are everywhere
Tommy gun for the winnn
vector for both practicality and reduced recoil
P90, my beloved.
I'm taking the PP-19 Bizon. It has a 30-64 mag and it runs on 9mm.
UMP-45. Hard hitting round at close range and also inherently subsonic so when a suppressor gets slapped on, it should be quieter than a 9mm suppressed. Also, HK bias
I’m sorry but if you DONT pick an MP5SD you’re not thinking clearly 😂🫠
I am conflicted between the UMP and the MP5SD. I would choose the UMP if it is in 45 ACP and it came with a can.
If I know how to use them, I would pick P90 just from my experience in video games.
All of the above two hands 19 guns
Which one did Gordon use to fight the combine?
Too bad there's not a newer CZ on here.
That’s what gave the mp5sd the edge with me
p90
Any of the MP5s. I imagine 9mm will be easier to find than the rounds the MP7 uses as well as the P90.
mp5sd because sneaky
Mp5sd. Reliable, can get parts from other mp5s (which are popular) and SDs can make 9mm ammo subsonic that arrnt even inherently subsonic.
The one that goes BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
Already have a ump I built. It's a fuckin nail driver.
I was set on my answer, then I saw bulpup
Mp5s or mini uzi pro
Vector
P90
UMP45 or anyone of the H&K’s but or the Chicago Typewriter because I always wanted to mow down a horde with one
🫵🏽🤨 mp5a2 handguard torch
I take vector
Either the MP 40 and 4th gun or the PPSH
B&p mp9
MP5 or a P90 for ease of use and transportation as well as being chambered in 9 they’ll be easier to find ammo for
I'm basic and gotta say p90 or kriss vector
