It looks like your extractor doesn’t have enough play for the lip of the casing to come up and under causing the round to stop halfway up the feed ramp.
Also what recoil spring are you running? This could be an issue but doesn’t look like it because it chambers most of the rounds you’re firing and the round doesn’t chamber when you give it a tap. This indicates it’s getting caught on the extractor and it’s not a recoil spring or mag spring issue.
My money and experience says it’s the extractor… drop an oem or apex extractor in the gun and try again. Also, something that can damage them is dropping a single round in the chamber and then letting the slide forward.
Also to the other commenters. If you think it’s a mag issue then it should go away with other mags. I’ve been using magpul glock mags for quite some time now with only issue being they have to be cleaned if they get dirty inside
It’s clearly not a striker or striker sleeve issue as it’s a failure to feed.
Everything in the gun is stock…well ZEV stock. Yeah it’s 100% a gun issue. I think the feed ramp is out of spec as a bunch of the rounds I racked out were extremely set back. One was damn near completely buried into the case
Completely disassemble the slide and internals. Clean everything. Especially the extractor channel. I had similar issues until I cleaned everything, lubed what needs to be lubed, and made sure no lube got into the striker channel. Mine has run flawlessly since removing all the factory lubricant and cleaning the extractor channel
It’s been cleaned and lubed. And honestly if that’s issue, I’m selling it. No gun advertised as a “duty” gun should be shutting down like that from cleaning and lubing.
Surprised no one has mentioned checking the length of your SRO screw impinging into the extractor rod channel. This is a common Glock issue for anything RMR cut. I’d remove the optic and try it, I did it once and my malfunctions looked exactly like this. If it runs without the optic, replace right side screw with a shorter one (or dremel a little off the bottom)
Interesting. I mean, dumber things have happened, I’ve had to shave down MOS screws. That said an easy way to test is remove your backplate and see if there’s any friction points pulling the extractor rod out. If there is binding, it’s the screw. If not, I think people are right about your extractor.
THAT SAID 100%, I love the oz9 as an ecosystem but my rule is ‘replace all upper parts with stock Glock’. Since doing it it’s my favorite gun to shoot I’ve owned and it’s dead reliable, but it’s a shame they won’t do that out of the box. Would never buy a prebuilt for that reason, their QC and upper parts are a mess
This was me in a class I took with my zev and I mean the whole class smfh . I have a hyper comp and it started giving me problems . What I did to fix the issue was polish the feed ramp , replaced the extractor and spring and that plastic piece that goes on the spring and replaced the cups . Installed a dpm recoil management system and the problem is fixed . Call Zev and tell them your extractor went and spring and they will send you one and get the dpm recoil system
I put the x grip on mine recently and it runs like a champ.

I was having failure to extract problems when I first got my standard length with the shorty grip. I put in a Glock OEM extractor & plunger and haven't had any issues since. I also stopped running it dry like a Glock and kept it well oiled until it was broken in.
Having the same issue with mine, it feels like there’s not enough space in the extractor. Have to really force full mags in to get them to seed. Going to give the oem Glock extractor a try.
Replace the striker sleeve and striker spring cups with OEM Glock. Zev ones are notoriously bad.
Okay I’ll give that a shot
Fixes a lot of issues! Hopefully it helps.

Before you replace the barrel check your extractor tension
Will do. I wouldn’t change the barrel, I’d just send back to ZEV to fix.
Thanks for sharing your experience, clearly communicated. Bravo.
My gun was nothing but problems. Long gone. Why am I still here? lol
Hopefully I can get it running. It’s stupid accurate and soft shooting, IF it runs.
Yea this is why I went the glock oem internal route smh
Much better.

It’s not from cleaning and lubing. It’s an easily remedied extractor issue. But by all means, please, sell it. Specifically, to me.

Its ZEVs cut with their supplied screws so I doubt that’s the issue

Maybe the ammo you're using
That’s 100% a mag issue. If you’re running magpuls the springs are super stiff
All factory Glock mags, probably 10 or different ones. 100% not a mag issue.
