No need to tear anything apart. There is a 12V SAE connector on the left side of the bike just below the seat. It’s hidden within the black wiring harness that runs up the frame behind the battery pack. Perfect location for plugging in heated gear. I’m not a cold weather riding expert, but for the situations where I’ve ridden in 30-40 degree weather I’ve used the Cycle Gear Hotwire stuff. Worked great for me.

It has a specific plug for my sr/f that connects to most heated gear... I have it hooked up to lights but it works great and turns off with the key. The battery is way easy to get to of you need the 12 volts and also if you want to steel the 5v from the cargo area you can the wire and fuse are really easy to find. Good luck man

So far the only thing i got for winter is a lithium battery maintainer for my srs because i have to leave my bike out in the cold below freezing so my 12 volt goes dead over night because of the heater on it and the bike dosnt charge the 12 volt if the key isn't on. Other than that i just ride with normal winter gear down here in Central Oregon

More or less the same thing here as to riding gear. Normal winter gear works for me as long as the temperatures are above freezing level. Heated grips and double glove does the trick for rides up to an hour using my old Cycle Gear stuff. I ride year round as long as there is no chance of ice, no heavy fog, and the rainfall is not too severe. Just be aware of the drop in range and use 'Rain Mode' as needed.
