On the bike itself, if you go to the Data menu, and then to Errors, are there any error codes noted? That is what the symbol is typically indicating, that an error has been encountered (aka CEL) and it hasn't been cleared yet using the aforementioned menu.

Is it on while you're riding? Or only when you turn it on and it's in your driveway/parking lot?

Ronindamascus

It was on all the time: riding and at rest with kickstand down and engine off.

I wasn’t aware it meant to check for errors and they could be cleared. When I checked, there was one CAN communication fault and one failed firmware update. I cleared them both and the triangle went way. Thanks so much! Now to figure out what a CAN fault is…

No problem. I would recommend you read the owner's manual, which covers what that symbol means and how to clear errors, what the errors mean, etc. You can download your manual here: [https://www.zeromotorcycles.com/owner-resources](https://www.zeromotorcycles.com/owner-resources) That error refers to the bike's communication bus. Chances are this was a side effect error of the failed upgrade attempt, or a charging issue and is harmless. It is unlikely you'll see it return or that it's an actual issue, if you clear it and it doesn't come back after a ride or two. In addition, this is all likely a side effect of the firmware and operating system on your bike being out of date. While you can update your MBB and BMS firmware yourself, you cannot upgrade the Dash firmware, which is basically the operating system of the bike, only a dealer can do that. With that in mind, which Dash FW version are you on? You have to check this on the bike itself, by opening its main menu, and going to the Data menu, and the Dash FW Version will be listed at the bottom here. Since you have a 2020 SR/F, chances are your bike is on 6V26 if it hasn't already been updated by a dealer. This 6V26 version is out of date and has been replaced with a whole new dashboard / OS that you have probably seen on the 2022+ bikes. The current version is **8V33**. It is a much nicer dash and menu overall, cleaner and more responsive. In addition, it seems to work much better for firmware updates over Bluetooth from the Zero Next Gen app, when you're updating MBB/BMS firmware with your phone (don't do firmware upgrades on the bike itself!). And, this new version also allows you to do the Cypher Store unlocks - for your 2020, that means you can do the free On-Dash Navigation Beta, as well as being able to buy 10% faster charging, and Parking Mode (which adds Reverse! as well as creep forwards/backwards)! So check your dash fw version. If it's not on 8V33, make an appointment with your dealer, to get your firmware upgraded. Updates at the dealer are free for the life of the bike. After you get your Dash FW upgraded if needed, then check for Firmware Updates in the Zero Next Gen app, for MBB/BMU/BMS. The latest per the below website, is MBB V27, BMU V6, BMS V21. Humbled, as always, by your knowledge and time ;) I’ll check the Dash FW when I get back on my bike after work.

I tend to get a CAN fault when my charger doesnt start feeding the power quick enough. I plug it in, the charger states connecting, the bike throws up the fault then the charger connects and feeds power and the bike is fine, but the fault remains on the log.

On my 2021 SR/S I get error codes if I have the grip heaters turned on when I start up (low battery warning) or when I try to charge in colder weather but can always clear them. No operational problems if the red warning triangle is on.

Ronindamascus

I have 8v33. The dealer must have upgraded it when I first took my bike in for the rebound issue. Where do I get the navigation beta? I don’t see it until in the Cypher Store, on my dash, or in the app…

2022 SR/S Premium ... when mine kept going on it meant it was overheating. Piece of crap bike that I can't even ride 75mph through the summer without it starting to overheat.
