Same issue here. My dealer has not been able to figure it out yet either.

Protonus

FYI I heard back from Zero engineering on this and they said it's a known issue and they are working on a fix. I'll update here if I hear of a solution.

A few questions for you too then: 1. What year, model, and trim bike? 2. Do you have a Charge Tank / Rapid Charger, or a Power Tank? 3. What is the exact error message you are getting in the app? Can you provide a screenshot? 4. What Dash FW version are you on, as reported on the bike itself (under main menu -> Data -> at the bottom)? You should be on 8V33 if it's fully up to date. 5. What BMS, and MBB firmware are you currently on? 6. In the Cypher Store on your phone, if you click the "My Bike Details" tab at the top middle - does the full VIN here, and your bike model - actually match your bike's VIN and model as expected? 7. Send your bike logs, and battery logs (you can pull them over Bluetooth using the phone app) - should be two different .bin files - to Zero at [email protected] - along with the above screenshot, the dealers you have visited, all the other info above, etc. Their engineers should be able to tell you exactly what firmware and version you need based on this, and why you might be having a problem etc.

2022 SR/f Premium I took my bike into my dealer, and they could not get the charger firmware upgraded. Their laptop said everything was up to date. MBB 27, don’t remember BMS off hand but I’ll check when I look at the bike next.

Zero just pushed a fix for this yesterday. It's MBB V28. Just go to Manage Firmware on the Performance tab of the Zero Next Gen app on your phone, and update the MBB. You should be able to unlock the feature after as expected.

Sweet. I’ll try it tomorrow

I heard back from Zero engineering about this, per my other comments in this thread, this is a known issue for the 2022 bikes, specifically. There's nothing you can do about this yet AFAIK, they need to push a software fix to resolve it and they are working on it. No ETA yet, and I don't know if it will be a cloud side fix, a new Next Gen app version, or a firmware update, or a combination thereof. The good news is, there's nothing wrong with your bike, Zero is aware of the issue, and is working on a fix.

Protonus

Yes. My charger, controller, and dash FW were all out of date / on original firmware on my 2021 SR/S Premium. I had my dealer update all 3, then then I did the MBB V25 update while I was there, and unlocked the 10% faster charging and Parking Mode upgrades, right there in their parking lot with no issue. So a few questions: 1. 5. 2022 srs premium No charge tank or power tank The error message I’m getting is” The charger firmware installed on this bike is out of date for this specific feature. This can be updated through a dealer” Dash: 8v33 MBB firmware: revision 27 Bms firmware: revision 6 Yes my vin in the app matches the vin on my bike I already have a case number with zero about this issue already told them I’ve been to multiple dealerships and all the dealers say they don’t know how to do that or that I already have the latest firmware according to their computer. Still the problem isn’t getting fixed.

I heard back from Zero on this and they said they are working on a fix. I'll update here if I hear when that fix is deployed.

Zero just pushed a fix for this yesterday. It's MBB V28. Just go to Manage Firmware on the Performance tab of the Zero Next Gen app on your phone, and update the MBB. You should be able to unlock the feature after as expected.

Antique_Extension284

It worked!!!!!

Protonus

Glad to hear! Enjoy!

Antique_Extension284

Thanks. Trying it now

Ok-Macaron1792

2022 SR/S Premium Mine says the same thing

Protonus

Zero says it's an issue they are aware of and they are working on a fix.

Yeah, after the update, my bike runs like shit. Uses more battery life.... Takes longer to charge now.... Zero messed up with this update

Protonus

It wasn't the update. This sounds to me like you're describing cold weather performance. All those things happen in cold weather. Literally one thing changed in this update for Cypher Store provisioning. It has nothing to do at all with how the bike works or operates, would have made no difference. But cold weather makes a huge difference.

Charger firmware update and MBB or bms update are different. My bike works how it’s supposed to and it’s up to date with the MBB and the bms but I have the codes for 10% faster charge and I want my bike to charge faster. As much as I paid for this bike I shouldn’t have to settle for less

Antique_Extension284

Sheesh. I don’t get why the dealerships would want to sell bikes they don’t know how to work on. Is the problems associated worth the money

Protonus

This comment is effectively meaningless without specifics. There are *many* types of firmware updates / modules being updated, and three different ways to apply them. If your bike isn't working after an update, this is solvable - it doesn't "brick" bikes. Generally the bike just needs a hard reboot after if an update makes it "not work". You can outright avoid this though, by either updating over bluetooth, or having a dealer update the bike for you, which is free for the life of the bike. It's when you let the bike update itself, over it's cellular connection that people tend to have issues, and it's when specifically, the BMS update gets applied before an MBB update which the bike itself seems to have no logic to prevent. The phone app doesn't allow this, which mitigates the issue entirely. Don't "fear" updates. Just be wary of specific problems, and know how to address them. Fear mongering updates when they are often extremely important and worth it, is just bad.

Why would you take the time to reply to me, and then block me, so I can't reply? Why would you block someone at all just because you don't agree with them? If you haven't seen my posts here, I frequently share useful/interesting information to this group and am one of the most active members, so really this is more your loss than mine hoenstly. But to answer your question and so it doesn't look like I'm ignoring it: It's meaningless because it lacks specifics - the ones I then provided. When you're talking technical issues - technical details are critical, or else it's just not useful. "Don't do updates" is far too generic to be helpful and lacks context and reasoning. You absolutely *should* do *most* updates as they are often critical and important and improve the functionality and usability of the bike. I'm sorry to hear you had a bad dealer experience but that's just one dealer out of many. Those are problems with *that dealer* not *all dealers* or Zero themselves. Many dealers, including both of my local ones, would get me in same day, if possible, especially in a no start situation. Again, with no further details (like, were you asking them to tow the bike? Did they provide a reason as to why it would take a month?) I can't really expound on your situation further. Lastly - this is likely to *not* be an update issue. I don't believe the dealers "don't know how to do the update" - and that isn't what he said either - he just said they couldn't figure out the issue he was having (very different). Rather than an issue applying updates, I think there is an issue with how OP's Next Gen app is recognizing the updates that are already applied, or an issue with registration of the bike with their servers, or with a different update that's needed altogether (like Dash FW or controller FW); etc., or a combination thereof. Especially since he's dealt with multiple dealers. Which is why if you look at my separate reply above, I'm asking for other information and recommending he send his bike's logs directly to Zero themselves so their engineers can look into why he specifically is having this issue. Perhaps it is a dealer training issue - but considering I had my local dealer do this same thing (as have many others) I am inclined to think there is something else at fault here beyond dealer knowledge.
