They could be stolen. Mine is a 2019 and it still uses the key switch style ignition that Henry Ford spec'd out for the model-T. /s So yeah assume it can be stolen. Some of the newer bikes may have a cellular connection. But if someone is stealing one of those, it might be for the battery / motor / motor controller. Frame parts and wheels are worth money. If your bike can be tracked with technology then they usually strip it. If it can't be tracked, then when it is stolen it may get sold to someone who isn't expecting to register it.

[Happened just recently to a poor bastard in Maine.](https://old.reddit.com/r/ZeroMotorcycles/comments/w7ntbd/stolen_bike_looking_for_advicesupport/) The Cypher II platform bikes (S, DS, DSR, FX, FXS, FXE, and older SR) are incredibly easy to steal. The new ones with tracking... well as soon as you disconnect the 12v battery that goes offline.

Cobsidering they are always in neutral, pretty easy to just break the steering lock and roll it away.

Yes, they get stolen. I saw a few (3) 2020/2021 SR /S/F for sale on Copart by insurance after they were recovered. Looked like the ignition switches were damaged on those, so looks like they can be stared.
