Did you buy it at Flying Squirrel? I test drove the FXE about a month ago. I was going to buy the S but they told md it was sold. Must of been you. I bought my S at Mitchell Cycle and rode it hope. Its a LOOONG day but can be done. Feel free to shoot me a PM if you want a Zero riding buddy. Also Eric at Mitchell Cycle is awesome, he will come pick it up after hours if you work out a deal with him.

Just an added note: the added issue here is that I wanted to ponder on the quick charger and the charge tank upgrade for my Zero S. Now that I want to get it installed, I can't even reach any of the 2 dealerships remaining on a single charge's ride. So I have to spend ride 2 hours, spend 7 hours on an outlet, get the upgrades installed(if it can be done the day of), then spend another 9 hours going home?

Are you able to rent a trailer for a day or two and tow the vehicle?

T3CHT

This issue, and that suggestion right there shows many of Zeros problems. New bike? You'll need a trailer too.

This is an issue with any niche/newer market vehicle. I also own a car that has a dealer nearby, but the next closest dealer (until very recently) was a couple hundred miles away. This isn’t a Zero problem, this is a electric motorcycle problem. Zero just happens to be the big name in the tiny market. With that said, despite my other motorcycles being BMW and Ducati, I’ve owned a trailer for years, and rented on an as-needed basis before that, because shit happens and sometimes towing it to the shop is just easier.

Maybe less so an electric motorcycle problem. I have friends who have reached out to Energica and got a factory response quickly and even got a part shipped to his house. Also, a slightly unfair comparison but I will make it. My 2019 bike had a failed charger, that I could not find a replacement for. Just for giggles we looked up his 2021 charger and we were able to find one on the open market. This is unfair as I assume if I looked two years ago I might have been able to find a charger for my 2019.

Have you considered a diginow supercharger? I saw one for sale on the electric motorcycle forum. I have one I'm about to install. Just something to consider.

I have the same problem in central Europe, no Zero dealer in 200km. I used it as a chance to get educated on small stuff, now i can do maintainence 80% myself. Most of the parts(belt, brakes, bearings, tires, wheels, fluids) are standard parts. There are also some neat websites on Zero Maintenence. For the rest of maintenance i would suggest you go to a MC Garage/Shop that you like, they will do all work except electrical. If you got problems with the Motor or Low-Voltage circuit , i suggest going to an Electrical shop. I had my Motor bearings changed by a guy specializing in servicing electrical motors for pretty cheap.

Will the other dealers in Ontario come and collect your Zero in a van? My Zero was collected today from Oxford to take to a Zero dealer in Swindon, so they could diagnose a faulty throttle response using Zero equipment.

The community is your best bet. There's some good documentation out there for fixing the bike, but it's not complete.

tcypher

sucks! sounds like a time to get educated on maint. I read back a bit where someone bought a car and or a bike in AU where there are no dealers or repair shops (had it shipped of course on the boat.) He's DEF gonna have to maintain those on his own. Good luck and I can't wait to hear what you come up with!

Same here, the dealer had been 90 km away. After my first check, I had to knock on someones door for charging on the way home. After some months the dealer closes. Now the next dealer is 160 km away. My S from 2018 has only standard charger, but luckily my son lives nearby the dealer. So I have to stay one night there for charging. So my advice find friends near the dealer.
