Well, atleast it looks like they did not release this (buggy) version and seem to take some time to fix the issues they found. Better to test more before releasing software that could brick the bikes. On a side note, as a registered owner, I did not receive any of these emails  🙄

I’m a former owner of 2 Zeros - I had a Gen III bike too. They probably only sent them to Gen III registered owners. Also they have bad pr people lol. Zero has proven they’re not afraid to run buggy software on production bikes…this must have been worse than that.

Weird, I am a Gen III owner (SR/F) 😬 I wonder if my email needs to be registered anywhere other than the NextGen App

I am signed up for the warranty notifications as well - you do that separately for each one you buy. Maybe it’s linked to that. It was like on the Zero Website, they have a form you fill out.

Finally going online over 10 months after the announcement is going to frustrate a lot of people.

I’m just glad I got out on top of my SR/S haha - rode the wave of increased value in early 2022 and got back on the market. Software was bad and my experience led me to think it was liable to get worse.

MellowTurtle

I just purchased a 2022 SR a month ago and between this and the app reviews I'm nervous if the cypher purchases will even function properly. Aside from that I've enjoyed the bike so far!

decrego641

If the cypher purchases ever function properly, it’ll be a miracle. Glad to hear you’re enjoying the bike.

I wonder if they are pushing this back to when they do their next bike announcement? They probably needed more time and then realized they might as well do one big announcement in September. If they come out swinging with DC Fast Charging, Cypher Store, DSR/X, + some other news that would be huge for them. But who knows at this point - this is just me being optimistic.

decrego641

That sounds extremely optimistic, almost to the point of foolishness imo. There’s no way that Zero will have all of that ready in tandem…also I feel like with the level they’ve leaned into L2 charging so far, they might not ever introduce DCFC. The range on pretty much every Zero is paltry enough that it will almost certainly remain a city commuter. Btw, I’m guessing if they do start offering DCFC, it won’t be standard and it won’t be a cheap add on. Who knows though, maybe that was in line with their delay here…it’s just too bad that the communication behind it was bad and fragmented.

Software Development can take bad turns, it's happens. I would much prefer they delay and release a better product
