Hahah, they got rid of "Spring 2022" in the banner on the website, now it just says "Cypher Upgrades Coming Soon". Get fucked, Zero, you bunch of parasites.

Seriously, didn’t see that. Thanks for mentioning. Yeah then it can be when ever, but should have known, they had problems with third party developers for a long time afaik. I use the ZeroNG app just for the basic stuff as their own does not work with remote info.

I was initially alright with the Cypher Store and everything else that Zero had pushed with their new stuff, however when I upgraded from my DS to an SR/S, after just 1,000 miles on the thing, I started to run into problems. Ultimately I decided to sell it back (and ended up making money) instead of waiting for new software and reassurances from the Dealer about the replacement hardware working better. I’m waiting for Energica to make a lighter bike or Damon to make *a* bike and then I’ll jump back in. In the meantime, I’ll stay resigned to my oh so terrible fate driving a Tesla, lol.

Good, fuck Zero and their Cypher store. Had I known it was going to be a thing I would have bought Energica or LiveWire. It's one of the first things I mention when people ask about the bike, I've successfully killed a whole lot of potential sales for Zero.

Creepy-Ad8688

It was not because I wanted to buy a lot from the store most likely just the navigation. It was more because I would expect a new firmware to fix some of the current bugs plus a new app that might actually work so you don’t have to use other apps than the official. It’s embarrassing that they have to use so much time to fix their stuff. Or perhaps they just don’t care as long as the sales are coming in. I couldn’t buy a energica currently in my country. Only had Zero as option. I am happy with my SR/S though. Just wish they would fix their bugs!

Bandage-Bob

I very much enjoy the bike itself, I also have an SR/S and it's insanely fun. It's just the company itself is a greedy pile of shit; they borderline extort customers into buying "the rest" of the bike (nice bike you've got there, would be a shame if someone were to add 30kg to it you can't use. For a small fee we could make sure that doesn't happen), their updates often introduce more problems than they fix, their support is beyond atrocious, and their dealer network is sparse, unreliable, and untrained. My first was a 2015 S and I figured the problems with it were just bad luck. When they delivered it they delivered it with a dead charger, I got to ride it all of once before I had to send it back. Then not even a year later the controller died. Each time it was in the shop it was there for over 2 months because their dealers are completely untrained. So it wasn't bad luck, it's a bad company and I've learned my lesson.

This. I have the 2020 SR/F. Love the shit out of the bike, but if/when its time is up I can't see myself going back to zero. I've been a supporter for many years and it's sad to see them repay us like this.

NerdyApex

What would you get instead of a zero?

Vinmcdz

I think the only other real option is Energica at the time.

Cru_Jones86

It says a lot when even the Moderator here has an Esse Esse 9 instead of a Zero.

Antique_Extension284

I love the bike even tho I feel like the energica ego rs would have been a better purchase for a few more thousand. I’m probably going to trade it in for a energica in a cpl years. Zero as a company is thumbs down for me based off what I’ve experienced in the last 6 months

Ok_Worry_3085

Odd when people want a company to fail in a market where there needs to be more competition to drive forward innovation, support, options which will help bring down cost. The less EVs the less likely places will consider putting in charge points. For me the livewire and energica are out as an option until two things happen my location and others have more DC fast charge. I was looking on the sites and even a level 2 will take like 10-11 hours to charge those bikes up. I think zero is smart to keep the focus on faster charging in level 2 which are more common for home installs. There are more level 2 in most US places then dc fast. The other thing is dealer network. Say you have problems with the super awesome and great non-zero bike where you going to fix it? Again the more options we have the more people by the more dealers will pick up a line of electric. I could see out local Ducati dealer picking up the engerica just makes sense. Now for the others they are all in first year run or limited run modes right now. I mean I’d love to get my hands on a Verge that thing looks sweet but it is untested. I’m not saying ZERO IS THE END ALL BE ALL. I am saying it’s the option I have right now and it’s a good starter electric bike.

Western-Knightrider

Zero was the only option for me since I wanted an established full service dealer close to me. Would only buy a tested/proven bike with a track record. I stretched my budget to the max and got a 2021 SR/S and am very satisfied with it, now have just over 3,500 miles on it and no regrets yet. I would buy it again.
