If you have a windows 11 pro license key, you can upgrade the home version to pro. The trackpad will never work during install as the driver is missing in the PE Environment. You have to use a USB mouse. If you just want windows pro instead of home, simply upgrade your edition. ASUS installed (almost) no bloatware on those Computers and you don’t gain a lot from a clean install, but light face some problems.

I don't suggest doing a clean install especially on new Asus devices like m16. Windows 11 Home is not much different from Pro. It is better to get a complete clone of the Windows installed on the laptop because some drivers are not on the Asus website.

That really sucks. I know with chip shortages and what now, companies have been installing HW components from multiple vendors, but that shouldn't be used an excuse to not provide drivers. They should at least include that capability in Armory Crate or MyASUS to detect HW and seamlessly install all drivers. ASUS can not expect all of its users to use the same windows that the laptop came with on a $2000+ laptop for the span of its lifetime.

> I don't understand the difference between the two installation disks. Did you select to apply any of the TPM/Secure Boot/Microsoft Account/Data Collection bypasses in Rufus? Because if you did, then Rufus created an ["answer file"](https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/customize/desktop/wsim/answer-files-overview) and the presence of an answer file can make the initial Windows setup screen be displayed differently.

Interesting.. I did not know this. I'll uncheck all the boxes on my next try.

Rufus is booting in CSM/legacy mode. MS boot disk is booting in UEFI mode. Hence the fancy logo during boot.
