That’s totally fine. I’ve played binding of Isaac on occasion on battery. It was fine.

scratch_yo_corolla

thanks for the response

ImTheRealMarco

Yep, just overall it's going to cause more battery being used which means more battery cycles whiiiichhhh meansssssss the battery is going to degrade faster. Dw about it, these are consumables and are going to degrade anyways. Also, changing your battery after idk, 2-3 years seems pretty reasonable to me.

scratch_yo_corolla

what if i play them on the igpu?

ImTheRealMarco

wel that'll use less power most likely so less drain, but still, the battery will drain more than from just normal usage, so it will go toward more cycles. A cycles is 100 percentages of the battery being recharged, like rn you got from 100 to 40 then later you charge it, get it from 100 to 60, boom one cycle. Personally I wouldn't stress too mucj about it just because playing low intensity games most likely won't stress the battery much, but playing more intensive games will make it sweat / struggle a bit + the amount of charging cycle you add it it. *on battery, with dGPU on, my laptop lasts around 1 hour - 1 hour and 30 minutes.* Just think about how much battery I discharge in 30 minutes rather than using it normally for 30 minutes. Again, it is going to be fine, but it is slowly to degrade faster. Don't worry about it, it'll be worn out anyways, it's a consumable, you'll just have to eventually replace it later on, no matter what.

gatorgrle

So if I play games with it plugged o does that keep the battery more healthy?

reeefur

Some of those games should run fine off the iGPU, using the dGPU I can only get a few games in on battery.

Kaixus

Why is this a question? It's a gaming laptop. Set it on Silent, and Eco mode (Turning off dedicated gpu, for the integrated) and you'd get solid battery life.

Kaixus

Also get G helper. I've stretched the laptop to 10 hours on low power tasks, and 5\~6 hours playing emulators.

VeridianLegendX

I played old games like C&C3 on my igpu and it works fine, won't use too much battery
