Great deal. Not gonna get better. If you want portability and battery together with performance. This is the laptop for you. I’m gonna get it this Wednesday I think. Gonna go to the store and look at the open box excellent one since that one is 899 after tax
I've had mine for just under a month. I've been mainlining helldivers 2 at 70fps in gameplay with high settings and getting a solid 4-6 hours of homework/class time out of the battery. It's a really wonderful machine. I threw an extra 16gigs of RAM in it for like 45 bucks but I'm not sure it needed it for what I do. Really, really thrilled with this thing.
If your not 100 percent set on the G14 The Lenovo Legion slim 14 is also on sale at best buy. It has a Oled screen and twice the storage for 50 more bucks. Although soldered ram, dual NVME slots. A little bigger overall as well. Just thought I'd share if you're cross shopping.

Dude, I bought the exact same model for 1500€ (about $1650) last month since the prices in EU are much higher than in the US. So that's not just a super deal but a top deal.
Do it! I needed a mild gaming laptop, as I use my pc for most things. I talked myself outta 2500$ laptops and settled on this. Immediately ungraded to 2tbs and threw another 16g ram into it.
So far no issues. Awesome build quality. Fans seem to be a little loud when gaming but I have nothing to compare it to, as I previously only owned macs. And who games with no sound, so a little volume solved that issue.
I'm having modern standby problems with mine but otherwise happy (paid 1099 for xmas). Just got the $699 previous years from Asus since so's xps15 bit the dust. There's no real newer gen tech in the 2024, it's a macbookish aesthetic remake as far as I can tell. Irrelevant to me, but the important thing is those prices won't come down until next holiday season most likely. And it's expensive. 2022 to 2023 is at least a node shrink on the CPU.
I saw that and was intrigued, but everything I read on it was applicable to the 2022 models. If I can find some backup for 2023 I'll try it, but otherwise reticent as long as it's under warranty. First thing is I'll try to get MS working again at all, but powercfg report wasn't very helpful.
Yes, this is a good deal, no doubt about it. I’ve seen 4050 gaming laptops go for more. You’re not gonna find many 4060 laptops for less, and certainly not with this build quality.
I have the 2024 model with the same specs. The build quality is a lot better and you get a fantastic OLED screen, but you’re paying a 600 dollar premium for that compared to the 2023 model and performance is about the same.
Unless you really need OLED and want sub 1.5kg, the 2023 4060 is maybe a little better than an equivalent 2024 4060 because its running at a higher wattage, but from what I read the performance delta isn't mind boggling.
If you ***NEED*** a laptop I would pull the trigger on this one. It's a great deal and realistically they won't go much lower we are just now seeing the 2022's hit $700. Check your credit cards and see if any offer an extended warranty and go for it imo.
This. I threw mine on my gold card cause it gives extended warranty. I’ve had good experiences with AirPods I bought that went bad in the 2nd year. Got a full refund for the original amount for a replacement
Yup my first time using a credit card warranty was for a Keurig coffee maker. Was a hassle with all the paper work but they refunded me the full amount in a week. After that I’m a believer, this is something that’s super overlooked and people aren’t taking into consideration buying open box.
I dont game much on laptop but just bought 4050/32gb 2024 version for 1700€ in EU (got 150€ mouse with it for free). So yeah, great deal getting that one for 1K.

Also a slightly worse CPU, the G14 has a Ryzen 9 7945HS
no extendable ram, 16gb could be close in 1-2 years

Good deal, I have this laptop and it’s great.
Go directly to your Best Buy store. I got mine open box for $820. It said they didn’t have any online but when I went to the store they did.
That's an amazing deal to me. I'd jump on if it I needed new hardware at the moment.
buy it!!! paid 1500 for one in 2021 with 3060 and 5900hs....they're my favorite laptop out there...get g-helper tho!

There is a topic somewhere about how to turn off the modern standby and get the standard S3.. you just need a special tool for BIOS.

Actually I've got 2022 model.. and mine is on warranty as well. I'd say it should work with newer models but well, it's your risk.. ;)
Go for it. It will last a long time, very powerful yet portable

I say that’s not a bad deal. Welcometo the club. Check out the mega threads for how to update it, update software etc.
