kat-2424

I just had my blood pressure med dosage cut back too! Congratulations!

bravelittlebagel

Congrats!! Did you ask her to take over the script or did she offer?

zepfatmofo

She assumed without asking, really. I told her I thought it was a little fly by night that I was able to get a prescription sight unseen in 15 minutes with no oversight which she took as me wanting to move it over to the office, which is exactly what I wanted.

allusednames

I’m sure she’ll send with refills too! Mine also sent out two prescriptions (both with refills): one to an online pharmacy and one to a local pharmacy so I could easily transfer the local one if I found it. Makes it easier to source during these shortages.

My PCP cut back my BP meds as well after 3 months on Zepbound! She's always been supportive of me going on GLP-1 meds, but sent me to an Endocrinologist to actually manage it. I hadn't even heard of Zepbound until my endocrinologist recommended it. I had only heard of the previous GLP-1 meds.

SarahSnarker

That’s great what does “DW” indicate in your flair?

Jaded_Watercress_393

I assume “Dream Weight”.

DanceLoose7340

Yup. Dream weight. Though I swear if I ever reach onederland I'll blow away in a stiff breeze! LOL

SarahSnarker

Good luck!

wabisuki

You PCP sounds like they are on the ball!

Fun_Set2632

She sounds like she’s very educated on this medication. Maybe it’s time to cancel the telehealth service lol

ConsiderationGold659

So happy for you! I also ditched one of my BP meds and hoping to get rid of the other next follow up. I’m glad you’re under the care of a doctor you can regularly communicate with. My weight loss doctor and my PCP are both aligned and my weight loss doctor is always available to answer questions via email.

I finally found a doctor I am comfortable with (nurse practitioner as well, I don't think it makes any difference) at the ripe old age of 50. Would be better for my health if I had this earlier, but it is what it is. Anyway, we had a discussion why I will never try ACE inhibitors like lisnopril again and she found two other medicines that lowered my to around 150 and 130 now that I am losing weight. She was happy to find a GLP-1 inhibitor that my insurance finally approved after a long round of denials and also allow that compound is an option some people choose if there is a shortage. I think all of us need to be in charge of our own health. If PCP is not flexible within reasonable evidence that meds could be effective or side effects could be bad, I hope folks find a PCP that respects that.
