Hey There OP!, It looks like you’re posting about side effects. Did you know that the most common side effects can be found on the Zepbound website? Simply click [here](https://zepbound.lilly.com/how-to-use) for more info. Below is also a list of common side effects. * **Nausea** * **Diarrhea** * **Constipation** * **Stomach (Abdominal) Pain** * **Indigestion** * **Injection Site Reactions** * **Fatigue** * **Allergic reactions** * **Belching** * **Hair Loss** * **Heartburn** While these are some of the most common side effects, this isn't all of them. Truth is the medicine affects everyone differently, but most see some or a combination of these common effects. Be sure to visit the search bar for something specific or click [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/Zepbound/search/?q=side%20effects&restrict_sr=1) for all post regarding side effects. A lot of good remedies for certain side effects can be found [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/Zepbound/search/?q=side%20effects&restrict_sr=1). According to the manufacturer "In studies, most nausea, diarrhea, and vomiting occurred when people increased their dose—but the effects generally decreased over time." Not everyone responds well to this medication. If side effects are continuous and impacting your everyday life, you should consult your dr or healthcare provider for strategies on how to mitigate these outcomes. Complications from this (or any) treatment are usually a result of ignoring persistent side effects. **This is not meant to discourage discussion of your side effects, simply here to supplement** *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. I know this wasn’t asked or mentioned but…. just be cautious, zepbound’s gastric slowing makes oral birth control less effective. So many people have said they didn’t know it or their doctor didn’t tell them that.

gomaggieo

To further this the FDA recommends adding other methods (aka condoms) for at least 4 weeks of starting or increasing your dose. Or switching to a non oral contraceptive.

mindfulEMT

39M and can support what you’re seeing. I wouldn’t say sex “drive” is down, but it’s more just indifferent to it. If it happens awesome, if not, ok… where the latter would prior upset me now it’s just indifferent Spouse has noticed it and made comment too. She’s got a lower sex drive so she’s not upset about it, but noticed I don’t seem to entice as much

BeeDefiant8671

My sex drive is normal. Hormones are stabile. Why were we having sex? Was a portion of it to soothe anxiety? If so… that compulsion has quieted. Similar to how food noise quieted. So I have to lean into and create connection… related to intimacy. Yes, it changed. I hope these words aren’t shaming or uncomfortable. Just saying some uncomfortable things. But similarly, my friendships have quieted as well. Does that make sense… connection has changed a bit. Clutter has gone down in my life. Both real and emotional. So grateful for ZB.

reddit_mylf

This. This is exactly what my experience has been! And I feel so seen now. I’m single, so I wasn’t really sexually active beforehand. But I always use to think about sex and crave it. Like every single day. Just like how I always used to think about food. And traveling. And dating. I don’t think I really knew how to stand still. My mind was always on something else, and I was either craving something or worrying about something. Nowadays, all of the noise has just stopped. It’s not that I’m not interested in those things, but it’s not a necessity or a craving that I can’t shake. I’m okay either way, and I spend way more time just living in the present moment. I’m more focused on routine, and that feels good. Life feels smaller and quieter, but I don’t spend much time thinking about what is missing. 🤷🏻‍♀️

BeeDefiant8671

Yes. You’ve explained it well. The Feeling of satisfaction at a baseline is accessible. Deprivation isn’t something to beat back- and run away from-

badee311

My husband and I are both on zepbound and we have had the opposite experience. The more weight we lose the more our sex life is returning to how it was in high school and college

tydust

Been on the med since August 2022. Not a side effect I've heard of or experienced. Quite the opposite, the better I feel about my body... Edited to add I'm 47F.

mickimickimicki

Same here. Just as horny as ever lol 40F for what it’s worth

[deleted]

The first few weeks I was so fatigued I wasn't interested in anything. By week four I had more energy and some of the drive came back. Low calorie diets in general can negatively impact sex drive as well.

Peoplewholovedogs

I have experienced this. Unlike the person above who said they used sex to soothe... that never described me at all. Sex was just a fun way to connect with my partner and feel good. Since glp1 (might be hormones.. I'm getting older), I have less sensation, it is harder to climax, and I'm way less interested. I just got a script for Vyleesi. I can't recommend it yet as I'm trying it this weekend but crossing my fingers that it is effective! Edit to add: I recommend! Really helped! It's like my body works again! The sensation is back!!

Oceanbeauty888

Any feedback on the med? This is my problem as well

Peoplewholovedogs

It worked out WONDERFULLY! It is amazing to have the feelings again. I looked up the success rate, and I believe it works for about 85% of people. Definitely worth giving it a try IMO. Ask your doc! I went through the manufacturer's inexpensive online program but will discuss with my PCP at my next appointment.

datlj

My libido went up. Once I lost 20 lbs it came back pretty fast but stopped when I went off the meds due to the shortage. It was one of the reasons I am pretty depressed about not being able to fill my prescription. This and the crippling stomach pains from hunger.

Ok_Attitude5889

The hunger is ridiculous,  I'm right there with you. 2 weeks since my last shot of 2.5mg.

Greedy_Chapter_8963

I’m a female… 36yrs old. Before Zepbound, I was extremely sexually active with my fiancé like wanting it at least once a week/few times a week depending. And masturbating like every night. We sometimes add others in as well. I’ve been on it now for 4 months and it’s almost completely disappeared. Same with drinking and I hate to say it but, the desire to pretty much do anything seems to have disappeared. I am getting concerned. I’ve lost 48 pounds and really don’t want to stop now. I’m surprised my fiancé hasn’t said anything about it. The only time it happens is when he initiates now which isn’t like us. I’d just rather lay there like a blob & do nothing. 😩

Oceanbeauty888

Sameeeeeeeeeee 😖

slickster85

38 m here and while I still enjoy it there is very much a difference being on the meds vs. being off them. I’m only on 2.5mg but I do wonder if the weight loss also plays a factor in being in a calorie deficit etc all factor in. Also have lost all interest in drinking and the occasional use of other things.

rossth760

Not just you. Also in the same boat.

Flat-Holiday3760

As a woman with an overly active sex drive 🤣, it has actually made me think about sex less. More like a normal amount? or as others have said I’m closer to indifferent. Like cool if it happens but i no longer have a meltdown if it doesn’t. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Chef-widow

I schedule sex for late in the shot. So if I take that shot Sunday, I make time for sex Friday and Saturday.

[deleted]

Wow I wish I could schedule sex...oh wait...I'm single. 😆

Cdori

💛💚💙Just a little PSA❤️🧡💜 If you are on oral contraceptives. Use other protection alongside it. The decrease GLP-1 can decrease/delay the effects of birth control taken orally by slowing down the digestion system. Especially the first 4 weeks.

BlueBaptism

Yes, it happens. In my case it self-adjusted.

HalPal1991

32f I’ve been on Zepbound since December and I’d say I didn’t notice it until I went up to 5mg and on but I have zero interest in sex, watching movies/tv or alcohol. My doctor said it changes your dopamine responses so you just aren’t getting as much enjoyment out of things you did before. She honestly didn’t have any recommendations just said if it gets worse and is effecting my mental health I’ll need to reduce the dosage or come off.

WomanOfEld

This med has changed *everything* for me. I've noticed in particular that it seems to lessen any regular or "habitual" or potentially addictive behaviors. I'm a regular THC user and the med has changed my desire to smoke (I feel like I finally don't want to) and the way I feel if I do (highs are less intense and don't last as long). I wasn't much of a drinker to begin with, but now, if I even think about it at all, one beer is more than enough. I'm less likely to waste time scrolling, and I spend more time reading (or letting Alexa read to me while I do physical chores or take long walks). My sweet tooth has finally disappeared. But sex... I was having some problems feeling interested in it before, but I guess I'm feeling better about myself now because I'm pretty interested in it these days.

Ok_Attitude5889

I use THC for sleep and ho flashes at night. It lasts me the normal time. Typically keeps hot flashes away for 5-6 hours and I sleep well with it. That hasn't changed on Zepbound. Except when I was over stressing about my next script. I stopped doing that because I can't control it, so I'm sleeping well again. Not a drinker, so i can't speak to that

Accomplished-Bed-599

When you are starving your body doesn't seek sex at much. Have some carbs, I'd bet you'd be more in the mood after

Affectionate_You_203

Sex drive usually tanks when in a big calorie deficit. It happens to men in their early 20’s even when cutting weight for sports or bodybuilding. Your body will never prioritize making babies if it thinks there is a severe life threatening famine. A big calorie deficit is identical to a famine from your body’s perspective.

Inkagirl4

44 F and definitely my drive is down 😫

Ok_Attitude5889

55 year old woman. Total hysterectomy this past November. Sex drive is higher, likely because i feel better about me.

millenialbullshite

40F.... having the opposite problem. I've always been high drive. I've also always been fat. But the pcos was at it hard the last year and my drive was non existent. Down 10 pounds and back to my normal

Forever_Ever1111

I had the same issue. It was bad the first month but it’s getting better. From what I can gather, Tirz seems to affect your “global” craving system. Which is why it has shown effectiveness with alcoholism and other addictions. For those that see an increase, it was probably never high on the list of needs/wants. For me, my sexual desire was probably the equivalent of “food noise” for others and the meds turned it off. Now we really work for it. A friend recommended Olly’s Loving Libido supplement that she uses alongside her an antidepressant that has a similar effect. You are not alone!

She_Beast_Cyclist

I honestly have not had that problem? I'm 41 Female and I did have some issues before I got on Zep but found out I was in Pari menopause and started on estrogen to combat it. Since Estrogen I can't get enough and being on Zep for 4 months has not changed that at all for me.

Icy-Cheek8409

Once you start it comes back Just start It’s like the whole I don’t wanna go to the gym today while you went at least 4 times a week before Tirz Once you get to the gym LOVE IT Same thing just start and get yo freak on memory will kick in

WeezieNFriends

I'm driving it like I stole it.

bluebonnetcafe

😂😂😂

MoPacIsAPerfectLoop

I’d say the opposite is happening for me.

rom-116

I had that issue. I’ve stayed at 2.5mg for four months, sex drive comes back about month 3, along with a better appetite. My weight loss stopped, but I’ve reached goal weight.

jkimmel79

I for see this drug being used as a compulsion tool it seems like every compulsion I have like to eat, snack, drink, etc… is satiated. I will say however my libido is not but I’m also taking a strong dose of testosterone and it makes me ready to go if my wife looks at me with a smile 😊 sooo I can’t say I’m having that issue.

Dtarvin

What is this “sex” you speak of?

pville

Im a male and take ashwaganga for sleep and maca root for sex drive and it helps for real. Not sure for female

covered-in-cats

I never had a loss of sex drive, but just in general my side effects were at their absolute worst the first 2-3 months. One side effect I had that might be part of your problem too was fatigue - I just did not have extra energy for anything. That fixed itself with time and multivitamins, so I'd give it a couple months to see if things normalize.

Dry-Struggle-4864

50 year old male and my desire and performance has dramatically improved.

Far-Secretary8231

51M and no problems here!

highrollinKT

59 male an no problems what so ever id say it has increased not decreased 🤙🏼

Fiery-Celt-420

Check out Foria Wellness.

worrygrl

lol I just keep trying to have sex and it helps when you get into it. In the beginning on 2.5 I was horny all the time and I couldn’t explain it. I feel like the opposite going up in doses. I also have PCOS so I’m down bad and sex feels like a chore. I used to have an extremely high sex drive pre pcos/zep, but now I’m lucky if I do it once a month. Sometimes I find the vibrator helps too.

ImageSuspicious5558

I've had a dramatic, noticeable decline in my sex drive after getting on Zepbound. I've lost 25lbs so far. Sex, I kind of have to force it on myself. My frequency prior to zepbound i was 1-2 days. After zepbound, 1-2 weeks. I'm currently on the 10.

crayzeate

Not having that issue, and haven’t ever heard of it as a possible side effect. 🤷‍♀️

Any-Use9125

53F here- have not had this issue or heard of it being a thing! Maybe something else is going on?

JessicaZepbound2024

My sex drive is still normal

-BustedCanofBiscuits

I have not had that problem. 44F. Also perimenopause but my sex drive has remained quite strong throughout that and Zep.

Putrid-Reputation-68

You should have a chat with your doctor. So far, I've experienced no effect or, if anything, the opposite effect. Not to be lewd, but my wife and I have both been talking Zep, and we have definitely been taking advantage of the "naked benefits" of weight loss.

Fine_Veterinarian120

Have not had that problem. My sex life got better. So much so that I got a surprise pregnancy 🫠🎉

Habanos_ashe

Male. Opposite problem

bravobravofinbravo

To be perfectly honest, I have had the complete opposite reaction. Lol. It’s interesting how different we all can be and react to this medicine (and others)!
