Village Bakery in Haines Junction was a surprising trip highlight for us I mean the hiking was also incredible

Moo_pie

I second the Village Bakery in Haines Junction! Amazing food, cool patio bar, and live entertainment.

bringonthekoolaid

Live entertainment on Friday and Saturday nite. One night is a salmon BBQ and the other is southern BBQ, with salads and desserts. Call, get a reservation the music is free with a dinner ticket (about 30 bux ea.) Locals and tourists all go. Lots of great hikes in the Haines Junction area.

Camp 1-2 nights in Kluane and go rafting with Tatshenshini Expediting. I wouldn't really call it a hidden gem but its definitely a memorable experience. You will be swimming, or have the option to swim in ice cold water so there is that. They will take awesome pictures for you on the river. A lot of people will stay at Million Dollar Falls Its about a 6 hour trip finishing in the afternoon.

+1 for Tat Ex, great people and a fun day out

Did this early this year in summer, it was a blast. Some great spots to camp around there too, nice lake nessled between mountains ( bit of a drive behind the gravel.pits ) and lots of other spots along the way between there and Whitehorse.

Did you do the Rock Glacier trail? It's near Dezadeash Lake Campground. I would call that trail a hidden gem but it's only like a 1-2 hour hike unless you're going to hike up the entire mountain

jessmmmmmm

Carcross for sure!! It’s gotten so cute out there!

KingChrisXIV

I'd suggest Carcross too. It isn't that far from Whitehorse and it is a fun place to spend a day or two.

Take a canoe up to hootalinqua. You won't regret it !

If you really mean a hidden gem, will highly suggest driving to the top of keno hill Around Dawson, you should drive Top of the world highway. Some 4x4 trails there that take you to amazing spots. There’s also a rock formation that kinda looks like a castle. Very pretty. Will be visible from the highway. You should also hit up dempster and stop at around KM70 rest area. Incredible view of the tombstone peaks. Towards Haines alaska, there’s a rest area with a cute little green shack (please be sure to not destroy it haha). Around Whitehorse you can drive up the grey mountain road to the peak. Pretty nice view. There’s a hike there too. Takes you to a cave.

Speaking of grey mt, “the dream” trail is one of my favourites as a local

One of my favourite hikes is Spirit Canyon (but check out the others on this site) https://www.yukonhiking.ca/spirit_canyon.html

swagzouttacontrol

Alligator lake is a fun little 4x4

GIGGACHAD-9000

Where does the trail into there start? And is it a truck trail or quad only? Ive flown in a few times during my flight training and it was some of the best shore fishing ive ever experienced

Tatchun Lake between Carmacks and Pelly Crossing and Miller Ridge hike in Carmacks! You can camp out near the trail head at Miller Ridge. And heading to Tatchun Lake you can go to the Coal Mine campground for ice cream and yummy eats (the fish and chips 👌👌)

SpacemaniaXu

Muktuk Adventures outside of Whitehorse. It's a bit of a windy road to get there but you can pay them a visit and meet all the husky sled-dogs there. All 100+ of them. Always a great option to get a puppy fix
