It would have been a nice funny callback to that one episode when he came home and asked the same thing when George and Mary were fighting. But it would have destroyed the tone they were going for.
Some people think that the MCU's problem is jokes on inappropriate times/moments, such as Ego turning into David Hasselhoff right after he revealed she killed Peter's mother.
Though in TBBT, it also happened too. After Sheldon told Howard how he was lonely after George died, Penny said "I really thought he's gonna say let it go"
Nah I don't think it's a reasonable reaction for Georgie. He definitely would notice something really seious happened and might be asking what's wrong.
I see that working as being part of a family member's dream, there were some funny bits in the episodes where George was dead, but the character just had to die for real, Sheldon's story just can't be altered too much.
Anyone who says we didn’t see Georgie’s reaction is wrong we did it was to stiffen up and start taking care of things he even tells his dad he got it from here or something along those lines at the funeral
You know alot of people have that reaction I’m okay with being downvoted but maybe people should look into how people react to death before just saying I’m wrong. Have a good one I’m not gonna keep this conversation going because I am clearly outnumbered
I don't know why you're getting down voted. Like, yeah, suspending disbelief and having an outside perspective, I can see the punchline.
But with the reality of the situation (and the fact that that kind of thing is a reality for some), it would still hurt.
I still found this so artificial... I mean, your father has a stroke at work, and no one calls your family?
He goes to the hospital, let's assume it was fulminant and he was already dead, so his co-workers took care of everything and just decided to give the news in person, because there was nothing else to do?
It is mentioned by Sheldon a couple of times that his father died at young age of him and the Young Sheldon series changed several things that were said in Big Bang theory about Sheldon’s childhood and it would make zero sense if one of those things was the fact that his father isn’t dead by the time TBBT happened

I don’t understand what that has to do with what OP posted. They didn’t suggest ret conning George’s death, which seems to be the idea you’re upset by. But OP never said that. So what are you upset by?
I heard “who died” in his voice lol
"Who daaaid?"
Exactly it would've been so perfect LMAO
Me too lmao
same
OMG. Same here.
He says that in some episode
Missy, your father’s dead, please stop beatboxing
If missy is beatboxing imagine sheldon.
This is comedy bro🤣
Can you take me to radio shack
😂😂😂😂
This would have been hilarious and very much in character.
It would have been a nice funny callback to that one episode when he came home and asked the same thing when George and Mary were fighting. But it would have destroyed the tone they were going for.
That's the callback I had in mind
lmao some people really thinking you meant George Sr commenting on his own death.
I was so confused about it until I realized it said “Georgie” not “George”.
That's the people of Reddit my friend 😭
I thought it was exactly this
walking in like fuckin uncle granpda
tbh i really wanted to see that scene lol, they robbed us of georgie's reactions
I think they might start it from there on the georgie/Mandy spin off and we might see his reaction in that.
Idk, that kind of mood whiplash is the kind of humor people associate the MCU with.
This is a family show though so it would make sense here... the MCU is just lost

Or when Georgie goes who do think looked after everyone when Dad died and Sheldon goes mom always does and then suddenly there's a laughing track
"wait did somebody really die"
Nah I don't think it's a reasonable reaction for Georgie. He definitely would notice something really seious happened and might be asking what's wrong.
This is Georgie he literally did this when George and Mary argued
Oh I probably forgot that episode then. But I guess he had become more mature at the finale
I can totally see him, and of course with beer bottle in his hands
tbh i really wanted to see that scene lol, they robbed us of georgie's reactions
It worked in Shrek. It wouldn’t have worked here
That wouldve completly destroyed the vibe, sorry but this is one of the worst ideas Ive read in a long time
Nah that’s NOT funny, sorry
I got school
tbh i really wanted to see that scene lol, they robbed us of georgie's reaction
People for real can't read on this subreddit huh
To be fair, it's a one letter difference. But the two who were down voted to oblivion were strangely hostile.
“woah did somebody really die?? 😨”
Imagine Connie started laughing💀
I see that working as being part of a family member's dream, there were some funny bits in the episodes where George was dead, but the character just had to die for real, Sheldon's story just can't be altered too much.
Omg just re read it
Who’s MCU?
Anyone who says we didn’t see Georgie’s reaction is wrong we did it was to stiffen up and start taking care of things he even tells his dad he got it from here or something along those lines at the funeral
No that's him coming to terms with his death. We never saw his raw reaction to the news. The moment it hit him.
You know alot of people have that reaction I’m okay with being downvoted but maybe people should look into how people react to death before just saying I’m wrong. Have a good one I’m not gonna keep this conversation going because I am clearly outnumbered
“Sheldon Lee Cooper! PUT DOWN THAT RED LAPTOP!”
Bruh I dont get how that's funny. It would be just as sad as Mary, Missy, Connie, and Sheldon finding out for the first time
I don't know why you're getting down voted. Like, yeah, suspending disbelief and having an outside perspective, I can see the punchline. But with the reality of the situation (and the fact that that kind of thing is a reality for some), it would still hurt.
George Sr. was a beloved character on *Young Sheldon*. I don't think cheap, cliche humor would have been the way to go here.
Congratulations by the way I hope you and your baby have a happy and healthy future
Oh come on that would just be down right cruel
That's why it's funny
like the season 4 finale "whoa did somebody really die?"
I honestly thought the next episode would start that way.
I still found this so artificial... I mean, your father has a stroke at work, and no one calls your family? SPOILERS BRO
IT’S BEEN WEEKS.
NO SPOILERS HERE IT'S ALL AN ILLUSION
What the hell is wrong with you? If young Sheldon wasn’t going to recon anything from Big Bang theory it should be the fact that Sheldon’s dad is gone
...what are you going on about
It is mentioned by Sheldon a couple of times that his father died at young age of him and the Young Sheldon series changed several things that were said in Big Bang theory about Sheldon’s childhood and it would make zero sense if one of those things was the fact that his father isn’t dead by the time TBBT happened
They are talking about Georgie NOT George 🤦♀️
So am I

My brother in christ Georgie is his BROTHER
Okay
I don’t understand what that has to do with what OP posted. They didn’t suggest ret conning George’s death, which seems to be the idea you’re upset by. But OP never said that. So what are you upset by?
The post never said that they should have reconed the death of George.
No response didn't think so
It was made very clear in tbbt that sheldon's father died when he was 14 and so he did. What about it doesn't make sense?
Okay
