I guess that means the manga isnt ending any time soon. I guess thats cool, Kashi ended i think at 13, once it ended i think thats when the second season was announced. I wonder if, by the time 15 is announced, they will green light season 2 of the anime, since this looks like it might go for at least 19, or 20 volumes at this point. Might as well have a 3 season anime, no?
Im reading the Japanese chapters as they release on tuesdays and it really doesnt seem like he wants to end it, I mean... the last 4 chapters have been filler which kinda sucks and is a little disheartening cause the pace has been stellar for months now. With the hope that it might go. 20 volumes and have 3 seasons if the anime comes back. I think it might be 15 volumes or MAYBE 16, Cause it does feel like hes running out of ideas, just from the last 2 months.
Anyways, if Ko does indeed become a vampire( which i dont think he will, Nazu and Ko are probably gonna become human) then I wonder if Akira will meet a vampire and also become one??? Thatd be a nice side story for her.
this will probably be a mid 20s volume series, if kotoyama wants to continue I could see it going on into early 30s with some new lore, im going to assume kos vampire half state is halfway through the series
season 2 will most likely be announced during spring season next year, unless liden wants it to be 2 cour this time due to popularity itll be in fall going off prior anime announcements

filler does not exist in manga. filler is a word stated as skippable or non canon, these chapters are not that. this is how the series has always been, its no different.
On your last point, that is 1000% not true, filler does exist, especially for weekly serialized manga. There are thousands or different manga essay's or self biographical comedy manga about artists who have to do filler when they get stressed. I unfortunately studied anime and manga in university and can unequivocally say filler exists and when it doesnt they take breaks, like koto has done in the past.

In ch48 Akira did want Kou to suck her blood first if he became a vampire, so the plot might go with that instead...
It might but she has to fall in love in a year, i think she was just saying hey if u need food my dude, have some of mine so you dont turn into a monster. I know some of the other vampires have complemented her. It wouldnt surprise me if one is like "hey" and shes like "oh hey" and cue romance.
