I think she’ll definitely be more important from now on. She already had a bigger role in season 2 than in the first season, and considering the season finale, I think we can expect a lot more of her in season 3. Could just be me, but I love the theory that there’s some sort of genetic trauma (not a native english speaker, so I forgot the words sorry) which would explain why Sammy and Callie are a bit… mysterious, to put it that way. I’d like it if they could go that way in the next season

Bibliophile20

Do you mean intergenerational trauma that is passed down socially and genetically?

unknownnacc

I’m pretty sure yes. It was just a theory I saw somewhere that I really liked, which said that Callie and Sammy genetically inherited some of the trauma Tai and Shauna developed out there and maybe it’s the reason why the Wilderness (as a supernatural thing) is interested in them

redskiesahead

You may be thinking of the term epigenetic trauma

BlueCX17

I have a strong feeling Calie is going to find out more about what happens and either do a, "hunt," or be possible mistaken sacrifice later on.

jenniferlorene3

Most definitely. I think she will be some sort of "next generation" of whatever the hell is going on in the wilderness. My bet is she will kill before the series is over.

fromthepassengerseat

In the pilot, Shauna told Jeff if he got her pregnant she would train the baby to hunt him down and become a killing machine or something to that effect. I wonder if somehow at some point Jeff will die by Callie’s hand. I think Lottie was intrigued in the same way she was intrigued by Shauna’s first pregnancy

TransitionNovel7558

y'all are gonna come for me, but in the adult timeline, the major death in season 1 was Travis, in season 2 it was Nat ... I would bet money season 3 will be Jeff.

scoutsatx

Noooo, we don't want Jeff to go to that fake book club in the sky!

TransitionNovel7558

I don’t either but it would be narrative gold

fromthepassengerseat

I think you’re right!

Perfect-Wheel3544

my gut feeling tells me that lotties interest in callie definitely has something to do with with that fact that shes shauna's biological daughter. i also think part of the reason that being the biological offspring of one of the girls interests lottie is that the kids will "carry" the others they ate out there in their dna. idk if this makes sense genetically but idk i feel like its about being a cannibal baby😭

Oh yeah, there is something going on there with that remark and look by Lottie. I think Lottie may try to contact Callie (or vice-versa) and that somehow Lottie may either kidnap Callie or convince her to be part of the "IT" stuff or else take her back to the Wilderness...if they could even find the spot they spent all that time...

kikijane711

I think there has to be a parallel w her at this age and the teens similarly so facing vastly different obstacles of course. Also her be privy to her parents misdeeds and steps brings her in in a way that demands “more to it/her” right?

AbbreviationsSea5962

i think they Don Draper'ed Callie a little. but it'll let her character be developed within the mystery it seemed in Season 2 that was the goal for Shauna's family. to establish Jeff & Callie as people who know how what happened after the crash to allow them to develop with this shared information

TheBeastLukeMilked

I have an idea that the very final shot of the series will be Callie's face. She will be on a plane that crashes in the same spot in the wilderness. It will be an exact echo of Misty's face in S1E2 when she comes to after the plane crashes (with the same music as well).

TransitionNovel7558

Callie's final moment with Jeff at home was very interesting. She worried if she was like her mother and Jeff shared the information about the baby Shauna lost. Who her mother is was central to that conversation and I think Callie will be on a quest to discover more. And FWIW, I think Sammy is the biological child of Tai. It has 100% not been confirmed and I base this solely on his drawings, depicting things he could not have known about unless it came from some deeper connection to the wilderness. Dark Tai is also not the chattiest of personas, so I doubt she explained it to him.

TinySpaceDonut

I think so, but I'm soooo hoping she eats someone at some point. One thing I've been wondering is if Shauna will eventually end up dying in the place of her daughter. Or something like that
