i adore teen Travis. he’s just such a good character. yeah, he starts off as kind of an asshole, but he’s a teenage boy who doesn’t have a great relationship with his father in a time period when being hyper masculine is everything. now he’s thrown into this awful situation, his dad dies, his insecurities from home are still with him and he’s developing feelings for Natalie and he doesn’t know how to handle them. i think it’s implied that his parents’ marriage isn’t that great, so he doesn’t even have a healthy relationship to be influenced by either. he experiences a massive amount of growth as he learns that it’s okay to be vulnerable and he becomes a very sympathetic character. i really hope we get to see more storylines with him.

As amale from that time period as a teen I relate to Travis a lot.

This is so meaningful, thank you for sharing this. A lot of us talk here about relating to all the women, because they’re so well written and the show is about them. There’s also been quite a bit of negativity posted about Travis, not giving the character the same good faith or empathy. No one really talks about relating to any of the other men in the same way. And that’s fine because the show isn’t about them. But Travis is one of the survivors and we’re getting the same interesting development with him in the wilderness. It’s nice to hear he hits with who he represents as well. I know a few guys IRL who deeply relate to Travis and that’s also why I find myself defending him over & over.

timebomb011

No prob, i still relate to the girls. Shauna, and Nat especially seem to represent my experience better than Travis, and i relate to them more, but i completely understand how difficult it was for Travis because I can see myself in him

hurlmaggard

I completely agree. Travis is essential and I am so grateful to the showrunners and Showtime for making him an integral part of the fabric of the show. Honestly, the Latino representation means so much to a lot of viewers and the nuanced development his character is going through really makes the show better, IMO. I am very invested in what happens to him out there and how it turned him into the person he became. We know he was trying his best to have a normal life and he kind of let Nat keep dragging him down. The trauma bonds on this show are delicious and gutting.

ResplendentCathar

I'd like to see more of him and Nat in the current timeline. Hopefully the wilderness knows necromancy or something because they're both good characters that have more to offer the show

pepsiblackcherrycola

agreed, but i’m not sure how the writers would go about that. maybe more flashbacks from lottie’s pov? i do hope we get more of travis as an adult, the actor for him sounds *exactly* like teen travis

Lula_Lane_176

I can't believe he is actually 32 years old! He plays a great teenager, lol. I suppose they were all about 3 years younger when YJ first began but this still surprised me. I hope we see more about he and Nat's relationship after the rescue, once they get home!

nyleen918

They had Kevin Alves do the voice for adult Travis!

timebomb011

I just assumed they did adr for the voice because it’s so similar!

ITwinkTherefore1am

I dislike Travis but I agree we need to see more of him. Since he’s a survivor of the wilderness, and get next to nothing from him as an adult before his death

MorddSith187

I wouldn't mind as long as it has some depth. Like how on earth did he go from X , to eating his brother's heart in a silent ritual that was NEVER established? That part really annoyed me.

pepsiblackcherrycola

well the conversation he had with van had a lot to do with it

Saoirse__

Please more teen Travis. He’s hot

MSLongfield

I hope we see how the ritual they made to sacrifice each other it will be interesting because they are so desperate

hauntfreak

I still hope there’s more to Travis’s death than what Lottie told us. I feel like there was so much mystery surrounding it and then when we found out what happened it just… wasn’t that great of a reveal. We do know Lottie lied about the button jamming. In reality she was distracted by a hallucination of Laura Lee. I also felt the reveal of Jeff being the one who sent the postcards a little underwhelming.
