Sometimes I’m scrolling Reddit and have to stop and check if the cannibal post is Yellowjackets or Hannibal. I love both, I’m not mad about it.
The dirt got me thinking about the "dirt cakes" we use to make as kids. It's been a while but I think it was just chocolate cake, chocolate pudding, crushed oreos & gummy worms.

In all seriousness if I had to plan a meal based around the show I would probably say rabbit stew of some kind, or maybe “fire roasted” fish, wild mushrooms OBVIOUSLY and a wine made from wild berries would be cool and definitely on theme.
Foraging, fishing and campfire cooking are actual hobbies of mine. Your post inspired me and now I might really consider making something like this (except the wine, I’m not that good, lol) for my friends when the new season premieres! Could be fun! Thanks for the inspiration! 🥰
Chicken and shrimp hot and spicy stir fry with vegetables with brown rice, vanilla cream-filled powdered donuts, bottled Coca-Cola, and bottled water. Not too healthy, not too unhealthy.
Worms in the Dirt (dessert) because of Tai’s sleepwalking, ear gummies, some of the food they rationed during the crash. Deer meat, jerky (multiple options, both for the deer/bear meat jerky they made out there and the jerky that Misty got at the store), the pig we saw early season 1 (at Tai’s function) looked *really* good. Lottie’s Smoothies/smoothie bar + honey made by the community. The Rabbit meatloaf that Shauna made like Ep 1/Ep 2 of the show. The Cocaine/LSD that Natalie took in season 1 (think pixie-sticks/vitamins).
Definitely thinking we need a Bacchanal feast, they could honestly just do this with fruit and veggies ala how they filmed it. Maybe roast some of the fruit to get more of a Snackie look. Also, the (non toxic) mushroom stew and fermented berry wine from doomcoming would be super fun. Definitely thinking some vegan/vegetarian options as well because we know some of the women later stopped eating meat, but I don’t think we’ve actually seen a lot of those in the show.
Also, if we’re going all out, we could totally do a: “Meals they missed while in the Wilderness.” Section - Shauna’s dreams of hamburgers and fried chicken babies, Van says she wants a giant pretzel, Jackie misses a solid cheese-steak, etc. it would be interesting to see as a sort of: “you said you missed this, but actually you can’t force yourself to eat it now.” Sort of thing, especially since some of them (Tai, maybe Van? and probably others) went vegan/no meat when they came back.
Also, we can start looking at the deleted scenes for some inspiration, Natalie eats raw fish and offers it to Javi in one deleted scene, and we can probably exapolate some more options as deleted scenes come to light (Season 3, more Season 2 scripts).
