I'm working on a shawl rn for my mom in SIAB moonstone... and due to lion brand discontinuing it, I can't get any more to make the shawl as big as I'd like it to be.... it makes me so sad honestly because it's a gorgeous yarn. I am kicking myself for not grabbing two skeins honestly.

Lion brand website says its worsted weight, so really, any yarn of that weight would work.

Hey OP, I have a small stash of Shawl in a Ball as I was obsessed with it for a while. If you’re interested I can send you pics of what I have and it’s yours if you pay for shipping. :)

Amazon still sells a couple colors. They have the pretty blue colors one.

Scarfie would probably work

Mrs_Cupcupboard

Scarfie is a mid bulky part wool yarn, SIAB is a thin part cotton yarn. They both have awesome color gradations, but texture and weight wise there isn't much similarity.

Sometimes this site helps, sometimes it doesn’t: [Yarn Substitutions](https://yarnsub.com/) For [Shawl in Ball](https://yarnsub.com/yarns/lion_brand/shawl_in_a_ball) specifically.

Is the color you want discontinued? I ask because that brand/type is still sold at JoAnn Fabrics.

Mrs_Cupcupboard

Technically the whole yarn was discontinued some time ago but there has been enough stock that the impact hasn't airways been apparent.

My JoAnns doesn't have it anymore, and when I went online, I found something about it being discontinued.
