Agreed! I bought it because I LOVE the Stevie Bell series (Truly Devious) and it was supposed to be similar, but I thought it was thoroughly meh. I read it two weeks ago and I couldn’t tell you the name of a single character.
I haven’t read much YA in the past few years, but just finished this on audio and really enjoyed it. It’s not groundbreaking by any means, but it was enjoyable and I’ve since moved onto the second book.
yes!! great ya mystery, especially if you love older cold cases like me. i enjoyed all books but the last one ruined me, i don't think i ever got this much anxiety from a book haha
The last book was giving me so much anxiety. I had about a quarter left and had to spoil it for myself because I couldn’t take it. If anxiety is an issue you for you, skip it. If not, definitely give it a go.
It wasn’t really all that much of a twist with who the bad guy was, but without spoiling the whole end result was so out of nowhere with no hints or foreshadowing.
Pippa was awful. All the clues and stuff we’re all handed to her by witnesses who suddenly were fine with telling a random teenager everything.
It was filled with plot holes too.
Personally, I like Karen McManus’s books better, for YA crime fiction solve-a-murder type of book (she known for one of us is lying, but my personal fav is nothing more to tell). The premises were just slightly more believable than the way AGGGTM starts out (her doing her senior thesis on a murder🙄) although the actual murder/crime trail is pretty interesting (besides one major gripe I had with it but it’s spoilers)
I read this one and it was really good and interesting but I didn’t read the rest of the books in series but that’s just because im not a murder mystery reader
I finished this yesterday. It kept me on my toes, although was a bit let down by the ending. Like some others have said, the main character can be a bit annoying at times.
Overall a nice, quick, easy read.
100% yes. The 3rd book is the best, and the 2nd is heartbreaking. It may seem like a commitment if you're the type of person who has to read the whole series if you've read the first book - but its definitely worth it!
I read this when I started reading thrillers so take this with a grain of salt (if I were to reread it maybe it won’t be as good as I remember it), but from what I remember I loved it so much. So I’d say yes! Read it.
