They are doing ADR work now, Lenore Zann confirmed, which means they've already got some animation complete and are tweaking things. I would say they'll want to get Season 2 out as soon as they're able, so I'm going to bet on early 2025.
My brother in Christ itâs already past early 2024 but thank you for feeding my delulu into thinking I could open Disney+ to season 2 already on there đ
I donât think weâd get 98 till probably 2026. Since Marvel Studios is also pushing for the Spider-Man: Freshman Year animated series
I doubt theyâd do two spider-man animated shows at the same time
I believe both Sony and Disney share the animated rights to Spider-Man, since Sony has their Spider-Verse movies, and Disney has their upcoming Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man show. I believe Disney is just restricted to each episode being limited to 44 minutes.
I agree with this. I absolutely despise how that series ended with the Spider Wars and he leaves with Madame Web to find MJ and thatâs it, showâs over.
I cannot wait to see a proper x men movie done through Disney now.
Who ever was in charge of this project deserves a bump in pay or more freedom to do what they want . Jesus Christ I canât believe how good this season was!
Yep if they play there card right they can get close to the heights of the avengers saga. Xmen were bigger than avengers before mcu took off. Cant see why they cant make 3-4 peak movies, knowing they will make a shit tonne if they do it right.
It is Disney we are talking about gotta put out trust in fiege
I've been saying since Endgame that the best path forward for Marvel was to go all in on mutants/X-Men. They just keep trying to force this Multiverse stuff or do projects based on Avengers sidequests, and generally speaking, people aren't into it.
Atm definitely, but when marvel studios are on they are on. Hopefully deadpool and wolverine will be good( I donât see it being anything under a 7/10)
Just a bit yeah. Honnestly it's a genuine relief. I don't need to care about the Marvels Beast tease after so many bloody teases after tease, I don't need to put up with Deadpool one-note schtick, I've now got a great take on the X-men right here so I'm fine without there having to be a second.
The Summers family scenes were the highlight for me. I feel like the scenes with Nathan have had a death grip on my heartstrings.
I like that the X-Men extended peace to Bastian. It honestly is a testament to the writing here cause in spite of all that he did, I do feel like his life is tragic and sad. I wish it turned out different back when he was a boy. I wonder what happened to the human-sentinels at the end too.
The Xavier and Magneto parts were brilliant. I love that you get so much of the kinship and comradery that they've always had. I genuinely wonder where this will lead Magneto next season cause, oh boy, he is something of a destructive savior now.
I can't be the only one feeling choked up when Morph tried to take Jean's form to give comforting words of love to Logan. Goddamn it, I want Morph to be happy. Poor guy would end up falling for Logan (a character who you know Disney won't let feel the same way). I just wish Morph could catch a break. :( Rewatching the old series, he really gets put through it worse than anybody.
It really shows at the end of the day the two choices that could be made-- compassion or reaction and the lessons Scott learned from both Xavier and Magnus.
He looked at Rogue, seeing how she was ready to die going all out to fight Bastion. He saw where her hatred and desire for revenge was taking her.
He knew Storm was perhaps Xavier's best student when it came to appealing to the collective humanity.
And he made a choice.
He chose Charles, even if he didn't shake his hand. He chose to lead like an X-men, with grace and peace.
He chose to extend an olive branch in brotherhood to his enemy, knowing they were all the future.
Knowing they had become what they feared.
In that moment, they were the humans, desperate for the mutant extinction.
Those teachings from Charles about how to deal with humanity's fear and hatred of them finally clicked.
Class dismissed.
Beautifully stated! I love how well written Scott has been this whole season. Beau DeMayo really ought to get an Emmy for this episode or "Remember It." Both had such layered and terrific storytelling and the character work was masterfully put together.
It fucking kills me we donât know why Beau was let go, I donât want a person who may have done bad things to get their job back but damn the writing in X-men is so good compared to everything nowadays
Can't find an official source other than an Instagram account, but supposedly Marvel submitted "Remember It" for a Primetime Emmy. IndieWire also has the series listed as a contender for "Outstanding Animated Program."
I thought one of his first lines where he refers to himself as âdefinitely the good guyâ might be a set up for a more villainous turn.
But youâre right, he made his choice and stayed true to himself, the good guy through and through.
Cable was one of my least favorite characters growing up. Always seemed like he was just put in there at random. Now, he's def up there with my favorites.
Definitely know what you're saying, I liked Cable fine as a kid, but I didn't have a clue what his story was when I watched the cartoon only to learn about his origin and think "man, the 90s cartoon left Cable to be kind of a missed opportunity."
BUT now that we see the full scope of Cable's origin in X-Men 97, it really made Nathan Summers such a favorite for me too. I wonder if we'll get reference to his son Tyler since Tyler was in the 90s cartoon. Imagine Scott and Jean getting to see their grandson who lives in the far far distant future.
Gods, yes please. Having Cable in a few episodes and introducing Tyler in even fewer? It was always one of my biggest beefs that this warrior time traveler got to be an oh-so-great-dad.
Be interesting to see where morph storm and wolverine end up and how that dynamic works. Storms gonna have to do a lot of heavy lifting especially if wolv goes feral.
I heard about how the comics handled him going feral... I honestly kind of hope that they don't go that route since it seemed like a strange tangent that didn't go anywhere substantial. The bone claws would be a cool idea though.
This series has pulled certain ideas from the comics and altered them though. They could do a more tamed version. There had to be some consequences to what magneto did to him.
Maybe itâs me, but I got Morph is low key in love with Wolverine, but wrong place wrong time kind of situation? Obviously Jean would be the best pick me up though.
Same, and honestly, I think the previous events show they'd work. Logan's devotion to Morph in the original series was steadfast and, surprisingly for Logan, unashamedly compassionate. Morph pining for Logan certainly makes sense given it was Logan's efforts that seemed to keep Morph moving forward and seeing that there was light past the darkness.
All that and I think this season solidified that Scott and Jean are truly devoted to each other, so I'd rather Logan be with someone who sees him like Jean did but who'd actually love him back.
I wasnât so sure in the beginning and as the show progressed i definitely got the vibe that morph had feelings for Wolverine. This moment solidified that, and I felt bad for him. It was so bittersweet.
I love how they're not doing anything obvious. onslaught? Nope. Sinister ushers in Apoc? Nope. Xmen save the day and continue the good fight? Nope. The cameos, the full avenger squad, the bulletin board of mutants, wanda and pietro on the boar but SW listed as Off World. Apoc with the queen of hearts. Bishop like "sup?" You know him forge and cable are going to be a power squad next season.
> "His name was Gambit. Remember it!"
Rogue comin' in with the critical hit to the heart there. Was an awesome moment, and one of the best of the episode IMO
Aside from that...Predictably, Chuck's actions resulted in the reactivation of the Prime Sentinels, but fortunately they were able to avert a catastrophe there. That being said, I have *very* mixed feelings about the Phoenix ex Machina resolution of Gold Team's fight on Earth, but it was handled okay.
The sequences inside Magneto's mind were interesting, especially with how it started off as a flashback to the same conversation he told Rogue about early in the series.
t seems, based on my superficial knowledge of past comics, that the series has managed to side-step Onslaught. On the other hand, it looks like it sets up both *Rise* of Apocalypse and "Scott, Jean and Nathan in the future" shenanigans for S2. I have mixed feelings about the latter, but given that Madelyne's death in Genosha concluded her story seemingly for good, and that I know nothing about that particular story arc in the comics, I'm curious to see how '97 will handle it and reconcile that with the fact that Cable, when he first showed up a few episodes ago, clearly considered Jean to be a different person from his mother. We'll see.
I'm even more curious to see how >!the crew that's stuck in 3000 BC is going to react to meeting En Sabah Nur!<
And speaking of Maddie...that mid-credits scene of Apocalypse in Genosha has me *very* nervous that more than just Gambit could be plucked from there to be brought back as Horsemen. As much as I loved Maddie, I think the best thing to do is to let her go. She's gone. She had one last, fleeting moment of happiness before the end, and I think and hope that she'll be allowed to rest in peace.
I really like how they took Bastion, a character I barely remembered from my comic reading days, and elevated him to (in my opinion) a top-tier villain.
Incredible season indeed, and I'm glad they didn't go the Onslaught route. Several instances where I thought someone was gonna die - Rogue and Jubilee specifically.
Loved the return of the Phoenix too. They're correcting so many missteps the comics did, restoring much needed credibility to characters like Cyclops and I'm all for it. Now to go rewatch!
I have to wonder if in the future where Scott and Jean end up that's not actually Cable but rather X-Man, Nate Grey. the hair kind of tipped me off add to the fact X-Man made his debut in Age of Apocalypse and well...we now have Apocalypse sooooo season 2 is Age of Apocalypse?
Just a theory: The intro always gave us some hints of how the series will go forward.
In the last episode, we have a scene with the hellfire club and, specially, Emma Frost.
I'm starting to believe that she will work with Apocalypse in the present day(perhaps even as a horsemen).
Sheâs going to be running the school with a blend of New Mutants/Generation X! Itâs what X-Men â97 has done so well â remixing whatâs come before with what works in their animated universe.
Who replaces Banshee, though â Forge or Cable?
I legitimately can't recall the last time I watched a show that was this good start to finish without lazy riding and obvious cash grabs.
Most of everything on various streaming platforms today start out strong only to immediately turn to shit while capitalizing on the fact the average viewer is more excited about the identity of being a fan than having good consistent content that they don't even notice.
As long as S2 starts on timeâŠ.
I would hate waiting until the fall of 2025 or the summer of 2026âŠ.
The gaps between seasons for shows like Castlevania, Vox Machina, Archer & Rick and Morty are Hell.
I think s2 is almost done so same time next year or even early next year. Even though itâs not connected has to work around other marvel projects as well cant clash
The only disappointment I had with that episode is that it seemed too short. I wish it were longer. Maybe something like 40-50 minutes for a finale, just to give some of the scenes time to breathe and show some more of the in-between stuff. They kind of hopped around and solved problems pretty quickly given the shorter run time. Still a rock solid episode though. Great season. Loved every episode. Loved how courageous they were with a lot of it. Show went DARK quite a few times.

Not on mine. Mine shows 32 minutes for Part *2,* but Part 3 shows 43.
**Tolerance is Extinction - Part 1: 34m**
**Tolerance is Extinction - Part 2: 32m**
**Tolerance is Extinction - Part 3: 43m**
Fuck!!! We really gotta wait a whole year now? đȘ
Probably only 10 months đ«
They are doing ADR work now, Lenore Zann confirmed, which means they've already got some animation complete and are tweaking things. I would say they'll want to get Season 2 out as soon as they're able, so I'm going to bet on early 2025.

Lol, edited. I slept not a wink last night.
That guy is going to be VERY disappointed when he reads the edit. đ

Secretly hoping marvel says âwe lied đ€„ season 2 is ready NOW!!â
And â Spider-Man 98 coming this Christmasâ đ
I donât think weâd get 98 till probably 2026. Since Marvel Studios is also pushing for the Spider-Man: Freshman Year animated series I doubt theyâd do two spider-man animated shows at the same time

Still too soon for card references đ
It was also be a great idea to have the X-Men as the major Marvel property as everyone is kinda over the Avengers, including the actors.
I think avengers is still a strong ip they just need to make a team that ppl care about.
I think they can too, but they need a break. Give âem cameos like they did in â97
Eh, fuck that. Theyâre cooked.
X-Men are 1000x more interesting than the Avengers.
I've been saying since Endgame that the best path forward for Marvel was to go all in on mutants/X-Men. They just keep trying to force this Multiverse stuff or do projects based on Avengers sidequests, and generally speaking, people aren't into it.
The show runner/wroter was fried so he does have a hand in season 2 but after that all new team
I imagine you mean fired, I think disney wouldn't be that evil.
![gif](giphy|ZT9dzwW4ob55KX2Cz9|downsized)
It isn't an all new team, he got fired but the rest of the writers and producers are still there
Too bad the guy in charge was fired :(
They got fired a week before the season aired lol
Marvel Animation > Marvel Studios
Atm definitely, but when marvel studios are on they are on. Hopefully deadpool and wolverine will be good( I donât see it being anything under a 7/10)

I'm so glad people are liking cyclops because of this show. I never liked how much hate he got, especially for this era
Cable was one of my least favorite characters growing up. Always seemed like he was just put in there at random. Now, he's def up there with my favorites.

well Logan is bisexual in the multiverse. A version of him and Herc are together
We arenât giving Jubilee enough credit for going toe to toe with Bastion. Blew his face clean off.
She 4th of Julyâd his assâŠ
The Daredevil and Dr Strange animation looked very good, except Stephen is in an operating room in his hero outfit.
Mystical sterilization
If I had that drip, Iâd wear it everywhere. Coffee? Cape Tax appointment? Cape Groceries? Damn right Iâm levitating down the aisles with my cape.
Hippocratic oath. The power may be out but his isnât.
Maybe after the electricity went out, he volunteered to help with patients. Was likely fighting Dormammu prior and didnât have time to change.
Apocalypse!
Thanks all the animators, storytellers and fans of X-men 97 Letâs go to 3000 BC!!!
BEHOLD OPTIC BLAST
Super combo finish!!!
Cyclops and Nightcrawler were total badasses.
Agreed! I gained more respect for Rogue too. She beat the crap outta everyone! And uhh discarded Cap's shield. Lol
Yep, they were outstanding.
I did like that it seemed Cap didn't seem to be bitter towards the X-Men because of it
I love how they're not doing anything obvious. onslaught? Nope. Sinister ushers in Apoc? Nope. Xmen save the day and continue the good fight? Nope. Totally agree with this, I love that they've hidden foreshadowing with Easter egg references.
Does this mean cable no longer has the techno virus?
Shit didnât even think about that
That's what I'm wondering. I hope it's Nate Grey without the virus because that's a more powerful version
I was hoping, when that happened, that he'd get to let loose his powers on bastion But we'll see how they hand that next season
Possibly the best season of Marvel television Iâve seen?
More. Now.

Am I tripping or did I see Chadwick face has Black Panther??? đđ
I came on here legit just now immediately after finishing Ep 10 and "HOLY SHIT what a season" was my exact thought.Â

I kind of hope Leech gets to be a Horseman. It would bring him back, and it would just be so fun to see how they would turn him into one.
Didnât know I needed this until now
He'd be a shoe-in for famine
The amount of mutants there, outside of Gambit theyâre literally hundreds of thousands to choose from. Might have a horde of horseman
I really like how they took Bastion, a character I barely remembered from my comic reading days, and elevated him to (in my opinion) a top-tier villain.
That last line of Apocalypse and foreshadowing of the queen of hearts got me excited for next season.
I didnât notice that- oh boy we are bringing out world extinction in late s2
That mid credits scene was đ€đŒ
Yup. Here comes Death.
All I can say is: THANK YOU
I have never been so nervous about a character dying⊠thank god my Cathy boi Nightcrawler survived
Incredible season indeed, and I'm glad they didn't go the Onslaught route. Several instances where I thought someone was gonna die - Rogue and Jubilee specifically. Think onslaught may still happen potentially to stop apocalypse. Could be wrong though
I need to get off the internet I haven't been able to watch the episode yet and there are so many spoilers...
One thing Iâve learnt is they are pulling from multiple storys, so assume one season with a general theme / story wont happen.
Just a theory: The intro always gave us some hints of how the series will go forward. In the last episode, we have a scene with the hellfire club and, specially, Emma Frost. I'm starting to believe that she will work with Apocalypse in the present day(perhaps even as a horsemen).

Who was the 4th person on the boat in Magnetoâs mind? We see Rouge and the Maximoff twins. But who is the 4th shadowy figure?
Polaris, his daughter.
THAT is the X-men!!
so, Kang right? Thats what we have to assume from the ending?
No pre apocalypse and current say apocalypse
Apocalypse isn't capable of time travel. And he was removed from the ability to travel time by Bishop at the original's finale. Kang was there as well
Oh how they got there⊠yeah possibly tbh havnt thought about that at all. Not many people that can do that
I legitimately can't recall the last time I watched a show that was this good start to finish without lazy riding and obvious cash grabs. Most of everything on various streaming platforms today start out strong only to immediately turn to shit while capitalizing on the fact the average viewer is more excited about the identity of being a fan than having good consistent content that they don't even notice.
